I know all about Parallelograms

Hello from a very snowy Michigan - it really started to come down yesterday and hasn't really stopped since. It's all good though we just carry on and hope everyone drives for the road conditions.

It's Tuesday which means it's card bonanza over at The Riley and Company Blog, I have joined with my teamies to bring you some inspiration.

Today's card features Riley's Pal Felix, who wonders why they were taught certain subjects in school and really can't understand why you needed them in the real world - Neither can Felix:

I just love the confused look on Felix's face! I colored him with alcohol markers and tried to make him look a bit roughed up after all Parallelogram season must be a hard time of year for a cat like him! I then stamped the Funny Bones Parallelogram Sentiment and drew parallelograms around the card - please don't measure the angles they were done by eye! These were colored to make them stand out against the white card.
I matted my card with some newsprint design paper and also cut a small mount of this to use as the tax bill which I adhered using glue gel to give it some dimension.

Save the Date

Here's my last but not least showcase for the Prickley Pear new release week

For anyone planning a wedding I have made a cute little save the date card

I stamped the Save the Date sentiment in embossing ink and then heat embossed gold powder. Next I used the same technique on the banner using black embossing powder - both these stamps are from the Love Banner Stamp set. I added the date in the gold using number stamps. Nothing else was needed this is a timeless look that would be great to follow through as a wedding theme. I used black and gold mats to tie in wit the embossing.

Easter Blessings

Good morning and Happy Sunday!
It's the last day of my week long showcase of the new releases from Prickley Pear and the offers end tonight at midnight so get your orders in before you have to pay full price!

2 different makes from me today I'm kicking off my posts with another Easter card.

I love the simplicity of some of the Prickley Pear stamps and I'm demonstrating this with the Double lilies Stamp. I stamped it twice and colored the stunning flowers with my polychromo pencils. I then used a corner rounder on opposite corners of my topper and inked the card lightly with pink. I Added the Easter Blessings sentiment from the Spring/Easter Banner stamp set . I matted my card base with green card and a plaid pink and green design paper. I then matted my topper with the same green and rounded the corners to match. A few enamel dots were just enough embellishment without distracting from the simple theme of the card.

New is has come

Spring brings everything new, the world freshens up, new animals are born, buds appear on trees and flowers start to bloom.

Easter also brought forth the new in the resurrection of Christ. The quote on my card relates to this however you can interpret it in so many other ways and I have seen a different aspect of it:

I have used butterflies on this card as The old has gone - the caterpillar and new has come - the butterfly!
The verse is a Prickley Pear Stamped bible quotation from Corinthians 5:17 I stamped in directly onto the patterned paper using purple ink. I matted this with cream card which I also used to die cut the butterfly.
A simple card but with a huge meaning

Spring!

Good morning - yay it's the weekend!!
What are you planning for today - If you are looking to shop for new crafting supplies then check out the new release at Prickley Pear they have some great spring themed stamps and some great offers on them too!

My post today is using some of them:

What a sweet little Bunny Cart Stamp - it so reminds me of images that were on cards when I was a child. I colored it with alcohol markers and die cut using a stitched circle. I also used a sentiment from the Spring/Easter Banner Stamp Set and again die cut with a stitched circle. I then edged both circles with grey ink. I matted my card base with Grey card and a lavender striped paper. This had been stamped with the Left Bunny and Right Bunny Stamps tying in with the rabbit theme. I arranged my image and sentiment on the card base, using foam tape on the sentiment to give dimension. I then added a few purple skittles to balance the card

Bubbles!

Hello again, busy day on my blog today here's the first of 3 posts!

My second post is showcasing a new release from Scrapper's Delights. Meet Shaylee Bubbles from Fairies and Pixies coloring book version 1 but due to popular demand now available as an individual image

Isn't this little fairy adorable? Having a bath in a bubble tea cup.

I colored the image with Copic Markers and added polychromo pencil to darken the shading. Once colored I used a Gina Marie die to cut out the image this gives a lovely frame which I inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

I then cropped some of the bubbles from the image, recolored them and typed my sentiment over the top before printing and cutting with same die set again inking the frame.
I matted my card base with heart patterned design papers and a plain blue coordinating paper (both from Lili of the Valley) and then arranged the frames on it. Once these were adhered in place with foam squares I added my images.
I used some clear Skittles which look like bubbles as embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by why don't you head on over to the Scrapper's Delights Store to see all of the new releases.

Cupcake

Good afternoon I'm staying with the sweet treats today!
I've got the cutest cupcake from Prickley Pear to show you

Doesn't that look yummy!

I used the Valentine Cupcake stamp set, stamped colored and fussy cut each piece. I then layered the hearts on the frosting to give more dimension. These were they coated in glossy accents. I shaped the base and the frosting and used glue gel to adhere to my gingham card so that the image maintained its rounded shape.
I matted my card base in bright pink card and added my topper. I then stamped Valentine and the little birds with hearts from the Love Banner Set to balance the image out

Candy candy and more Candy

Good Morning TGIF!!! It's been a busy week and today is no different! House work - yes the dirty word - needs doing before I can enter the craft room!

A sweet day on here today I have some candy to show you! No I haven't made candy but have made some cute gift wrapping for it.
First of all I have a little drawer box to show you:

I made the box using pale and bright pink card. I then stamped the same bright pick with stamps from the Love Banners Set. I colored the hearts and leaves with Glittery gel pens. I then chose a green card to match in with the gel pen and matted this onto the top of the box before adding my images.
I used the pale pink and green card to make a handle for the drawer glued this in place and added gold brads for decoration.
It is filled with chocolate hearts Yummy!

The second wrapping is a gift bag:

Isn't that Love Birds Stamp adorable??
I stamped it twice and colored with Alcohol markers and pencils. I added the Love stamp from the Love Banners Set. I then die cut 2 fancy edged pieces of red card. These were glued together at the top making a fold over top for my candy bag. I matted my colored images onto either side of the card.  I then used a tape runner to adhere the top to the bag.

Be Mine

Good afternoon are you ready for my 2nd post of the day?

There are so many new stamps from Prickley Pear and for this wee only you can get them at great prices with the deals that are being offered - more about that below!

Sticking with the Valentine's theme for today, the stamp I have used had a very vintage feel to it so I used this as my theme for the card.

I colored the Be Mine Forever stamp with my polychromo pencils to give it a more delicate effect than my markers would.
I then die cut the image into an oval shape and inked it to give it a vintage feel. This was then placed onto an ornate die cut.
I matted my card base with pick card and some vintage looking design paper. I cut a lacy doily in half pleated it and inked the edges. This was placed behind my image before adding them both to my card. A few tiny mulberry roses and some enamel dots just balanced the card.

Yours Always

Good morning - Wow Thursday already this week and month is flying by St Valentine's Day will soon be upon us.
I have some more inspiration from the gorgeous new release to share with you

I have attempted to get a masculine feel for this card.
I matted my card base with red card. I then stamped the Small Swirl Heart and the Medium Swirl Heart in red ink. I fussy cut them and then inked the whole of the hearts with versamark and  heated clear embossing powder on them to give them a shine. I then chose black card and Stamped the Yours Always sentiment from the Love Banner Stamp Set and embossed this with white embossing powder. A length of twine was fixed in place to the left of the black card before it was adhered to the card base. I then added the hearts using foam tape to give dimension.

His Love

Good afternoon, I'm back with my 2nd showcase today for the new release at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps

Again this one is Easter themed:

I started with matting my card with yellow and green card. I then water-colored a wash on some watercolor card. Once dry I then stamped the Tall Cross and Wishing You an Easter stamps using Versafine ink. This was then adhered to my card base. Nothing else was needed as I didn't want to distract from the simplicity of the card

Embossed Cross

Good morning, all our snow has just about disappeared which is unheard of for this time of year BUT yes big BUT it is returning by the end of this week and is supposedly hanging a round for the whole of February ☃

The new release at Prickley Pear is all about Spring and the holidays we celebrate at that time of year. Today I am sharing a couple of cards with you that are in celebration of Easter although today's card could also be used as a baptism card or first holy communion:

This has to be one of my favorite from the whole collection. My card is very simple but I love the elegance of it.
I matted my card base with pearl gold card. I then used pearl white to emboss the card with a cross shaped embossing folder that is made up of holy words.

I stamped the Large Cross Stamp onto the same white card with versamark and used old gold embossing powder over the top. I then fussy cut the cross and adhered it in place using foam squares, giving it dimension.
A small crystal gem was placed in the center of the cross, no other embellishments were needed as the simpleness of the card is what makes it.

Water coloring Shamrock

Good afternoon - second post from me today using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps new release, staying with the St Patrick's Day theme I decided to have a go at water coloring with my new pencils

I stamped Shamrock Swag onto my watercolor card and colored it with pencils before adding water to blend the colors out. I then colored the edges of the card before stamping the St Patrick's Day sentiment from the Prickley Pear Spring and Easter Banner stamp set. I used green card and a leaf patterned design paper to mat my card before adding my image matted with same card. I few enamel dots take away the dead space around the image.

St Patrick's Day wishes

Good afternoon - I'm a little late in posting today because my mind went crazy yesterday and saved all my posts instead of publishing them as scheduled 😋

So I'm here today with more of the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp's new release and today it's all about St Patrick's Day -or as it's called in the USA St Patty's Day!

I have used a gorgeous Celtic Border Stamp as my main focus on my card today:

I then stamped the Irish Blessing stamp into the center of the border and then fussy cut the entire image out. I matted my card with dark green card and a shamrock design paper which I had added St Patty's Day using my graphics program. I curled my image and used gel glue to give it dimension on my card base. I added some coordinating stamped images from Riley and Company and green skittles.

I have gone out of my comfort zone with my first card. I'm a clean and simple girl by heart but have gone shabby chic with this card:

I really felt that to do this gorgeous Happy Valentine's Day stamp justice I needed to distress the card up a bit. I stamped the image with distress ink and used the same color on the edges of all the papers which I roughed up a bit first. I stuck with the aged color scheme when choosing papers, lace ribbon and pearls. I also inked a heart shaped doily to accentuate the design.

I hope you like my design and it gives you inspiration for using the stamp

Wine!!!

Good afternoon and welcome to my last post for the Riley and Company new release week!

And what a better way to end it than relaxing with a bottle of wine!

What a fantastic sentiment - who needs the gym when you are passing a wine store anyway!

The Windy funny bones sentiment goes great on this bottle gift tag. I used a template to cut the base out and then matted it with blue card and wine themed patterned paper. I then stamped the wine glass, masked this and added Felix. I colored them both in making sure it looked like Felix was looking trough the glass. I inked the edges of the image card and matted with the same blue card as the tag. I then stamped the sentiment and cut this with yet more new dies - yes we now have Word Bubble Dies to cut out all the fab Funny Bones sentiments! and they come in a number of different sizes and shapes  - The die cut was inked and adhered in place so it over hung the tag

Faith

Good morning. It's the last day of the Riley and Company release week and I have had a blast sharing all my work with you all

This morning I have a sweet little card to showcase

I love this sentiment - I have had some pretty dark days in the past and my faith and my heart has kept me going.

I stamped the Faith sentiment onto white card and used an oval die. I then inked the card before removing from the die and then used a brighter ink around the edges.
I stamped the love heart from the new valentines accessories set numerous times onto some pink gingham card and matted this with a darker pink card. I used foam tape to place my sentiment and added a few pearls as embellishments

Getting Lucky

Hello - how's your Saturday going?

I'm almost at the end of an amazing week of Riley and Company new releases - but I have so enjoyed making and showcasing all these great cards.

This afternoon how about we get ready for St. Patty's (or Paddy's) Day?

yes Riley has an outfit for most occasions and the patron saint of Ireland gets a look in too!

I have used the Basic Riley, colored him with Alcohol markers and die cut him out. I then used the Valentines and St. Patty's accessory set and gave him a sweater and celebratory hat! Oh and the pints of Guinness are also a stamp and die cut!!!. I matted my card with white and green card adding in a sheet of shamrock patterned paper.
The Getting Lucky sentiment is part of a Funny Bones stamp but I felt it went well as they always say "the luck of the Irish" and Riley is certainly getting lucky with the line up of drinks he has!!

Thank you for stopping by, to see all the new release stamps head on over to the new release section of the Riley and Company online store, they still have all the new release offers on:
