I have then chosen a fine blue polka dot and a larger white polkadot paper from my stash to mat the image on, using a Tonic Trellis die for the frame around the image. I have then added blue dotted card candi to the corners of the card. Keeping the card clean and simple whilst making sure you are seeing spots

Oh Baby

Good morning - It's Memorial Day here, a time for the American nation to remember the heroes who have helped to serve their country.
My blog post today is showcasing a So Suzy new release. Have you seen the gorgeous new stamps this month? There are some adorable baby stamps just pop by the shop to take a look, but before you do why not enter the challenge this month's challenge. The details can be found under the May tab at the right hand side on the So Suzy blog.

I couldn't resist - I love pink and girly so I have used the pretty baby carriage stamp for my showcase card today:

I stamped the image with Tim Holtz Pick Raspberry distress ink and then water colored it with my Spectrum Aqua pens. I then die cut it using a spellbinder die and before removing from the die color tinted the card using the same ink. The papers were some scraps from my stash which I distressed and again color tinted using a doily as a template on the front piece of card. I then printed the sentiment from my PC and used the same die set to cut this - again tinting it with the distress ink. The vines were cut from a Cheery Lynn die and the flowers from my stash. I used just a few pearls to fill some blank areas and embellish the baby carriage.

Boys will be Boys

Good morning- hope you are enjoying the long weekend break!

It's also the start of Challenge 45 over at Scribble and Scrap
As always it's anything goes as long as you have physically crafted it - no digital entries. The rules are simple and you can find them here.

There will be a random generated winner and then the top 3 will be showcased

On to my Design Team card for inspiration:

A few weeks ago it was James's birthday and I never got round to blogging about his card so thought I'd do so now.
most of the stash I have used on this card are from the Polka Doodles Pretty Tuff CD.
I printed off the pre-colored images and then fussy cut them along with the wooden fence. I also used one of the game elements, I reduced the size of this using my graphics program and placed it in the hand of the boy sitting on the floor. All the items were then arranged on the backing paper - again from the CD. I used a circle die to cut out the sentiment and placed this on a scalloped piece of brown card. I used the same card as a mat on the card blank and added some Craftwork Cards Card Candi just to finish off the card.

Pop by the Scribble and Scrap blog for some more inspiration from my Teamies and don't forget to enter any of your makes into the challenge whilst you're there!

6 years - gone so quickly!

Good Morning - Today is the 6th anniversary of the day I married my soul mate. He has made my life so happy and I love him more and more each day!

When making his card I wanted to use the So Suzy Stamps Judy Garland sentiment I bought just for the occasion After all he is my soul mate!

The image is from The East Wind called 'She' from the Mon Amour collection. As always I have colored using my Spectrum Noir Markers - My first card with big hair to color!!! After stamping the sentiment, I mounted the image onto purple card. The patterned paper is from a Dovecraft collection called pretty in pink. A further piece of purple card matted onto a white card blank just finished off the simplicity of the card.

Ooo look what I'm making!!!!

Hello I have some fab Monday news.............

Yesterday was a humid day James was off with his buddies and Kev was playing golf so thought I'd try out the goodies I bought last week!

A new craft for me to stretch my creative juices

It all starts with jug in a pan on the stove....

Yes I'm candle making. You have to be very precise with temperatures I stood over the pan watching the thermometer as though it was going to explode if it went over one degree hotter!!

I prepared my molds - as this is my first time I'm starting off small, the votive sized jars are molds and I then had an empty Yankee Candle jar so decided to try refilling that:

Once the wax had melted and reached the correct temperature poured it into the molds. I remembered at this point I had forgotten to add the scent and color. I could add Jasmine scent to the jars and give them a quick stir but as the wax had started to set I decided to keep these white and use color for next batch.
After 5 minutes the wicks are added and held in place with lolly sticks. They are then left for a further 30 minutes before topping them up to ensure there is no gaps around the wicks.

They are then left for 2 hours to set fully before removing from the molds.

Whilst waiting I designed a quick label for the jar candle. I printed it using Safmat

Butterflies remind me of a special person so first attempt has one on the front  and I've used my blog name for the back

I have used a So Suzy single flower swirl stamp to decorate one of the votive candles:

I just need to get some more supplies and there will be no stopping me now!

Lots of Layers

Good Morning! After a bit of a cold week it's starting to warm up again - just hope it lasts this time!!

It's time for another challenge to start over at Wags and Whiskers. This time the theme is lots of layers
The prize is a Wags and Whiskers rubber stamp.  You can use any stamp for the challenge however, if you use a Wags and Whiskers stamp you will be entered into a second draw to win a digistamp.

Rules are
You can enter any type of paper-craft project.
You can enter 2 times per challenge.
You must use a new project - no back linking.
Follow the theme.
You link must be a direct link to your entry.

I have used a pretty fairy stamp for my design team showcase:

Meet Laila! She is stunning. I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir Markers and added glitter to the patterns in her wings and on the butterfly she is holding. I chose to color her in the aqua and lavender to match in with the gorgeous papers from Lili of the Valley they are from one of their 8x8 paper pads called Promises. I matted the papers onto lavender card and once colored die cut my image in an oval so you could see the layers beneath her. A few skittles just to embellish the image was all that was needed.

Thanks for stopping by and your next move must be to the Wags and Whiskers blog to enter the challenge!

Sending you a note.....

Good morning! Well after a week of warm weather the temperatures are due to plummet again this week but at least everything looks nice and green!

I'm here just to remind you of them and also don't forget to enter the challenge - you could win a $15 voucher and treat yourself to some fab goodies!

I have used the Sending you a Note sentiment stamp for my showcase today:

I have used pearlescent card as my base then embossed a piece of the same card with a couture Creations embossing folder. Then again using the same card die cut the topper using Marianne die, Large ovals by Anja. I have stamped the sentiment in the center of this before fixing to the card. Just to finish the look I have used pale lilac pearls on each of the crosses on the embossing folder.

On to my Design Team card for inspiration:

This little lady is a Lili of the Valley stamp. Isn't she adorable! I have (as always) colored her and her poorly little pal with my Spectrum noir markers. I have then die cut the image and some blue card using a spellbinder die. The papers are also from Lili of the Valley and have been matted onto the same blue card. I have then added a stamped sentiment and pearls to finish off the design.
