Cowabunga!!!

Good afternoon! I have been so busy with paperwork for applying for our green card that I haven't posted much over the last few weeks. I think I am now caught up with all that so I'm back to blogland!

Today is my showcase day for Scrapoholic Candy Shop and I have another sweet critter for you today

Meet Turtle from the Snuggle Palz collection

He comes as a set with the adorable cat too!

So I wanted to do something different with him to show how you can turn these characters into designs for all ages.

Meet Raphael

Yes I added a mask to him and he now looks like a cute version of well know ninja!

After drawing in his mask I colored him with my alcohol markers. I found some design papers on a party website that were perfect for the design so I matted these with red card before adding to a 6x6in card blank.
I then used my graphics program to make my well know sentiment and after matting them with the same red card I added this and my image to the card

Of course you don't have to color him up as a Ninja the images are great to use with any design and so easy to color!

You can find him and all his friends in the Snuggle Palz section of the Scrapoholic Candy Shop

We also have a Facebook page where you can get more inspiration from me and my teamies, there are also giveaways and discounted posted frequently!

Time for a spot of gardening

Good afternoon - well May is almost upon and us and summer is on it's way! We have started planting out our yard with flower tubs and vegetables - we have so much grass that it needs color out there.

Today's card is my final make for my Guest Design Team member over at 2 Paper Divas and it a great gardening scene

Garden Joy was my favorite to color I loved using delicate colors and the image is almost dreamlike.

Once colored I used a circle die to cut the image out. I then matted it onto a blue  trellis circle die-cut. I used the same blue as a mat on my card having first decorated opposing edges with a lacy punch.
I then added the gorgeous design paper which has delicate flowers all over it. After placing my image I die cut a butterfly to coordinate and used some of my mulberry roses (spiraling the stems of the small ones) to balance the design.

Gorgeous Giveaway!!!

Good morning - I'm here today with a one day giveaway from Amanda at Faery Ink

Once a month she does the one day Fae where for 24 hours she makes a new release free. This month is it the stunning Autumn Rose Dragonfly Fae

I was challenged a few weeks ago to try no line coloring so I printed out the light lines version of the stamp and faded her slightly more so I could just make her out on the card

I found it easy to color her in the main but did struggle with her facial features - more practice will hopefully perfect this. Once I'd colored her I fussy cut her out.
I chose a gorgeous flowery design paper and picked out the dark pink from this and used a card in this shade to mat my card base and my sentiment. I placed my image directly onto the design paper and typed a sentiment on my pc. A few enamel dots just balanced the image

Autumn Rose will be free for the remainder of today but if you miss her she will be available to buy in amongst the Newest Digis this month over in the Faery Ink Store and if you need more inspiration my teamies are also coloring her up and posting on the Faery Ink Facebook Group page

Ingredients used:
Autumn Rose Dragonfly Fae digistamps

Bucket full of Tulips

Good afternoon - thank you for stopping by - I do love having visitors to my blog and reading all the comments that people leave make my day!

I'm back again with my 3rd guest design team spot for 2 Paper Divas I am really enjoying using their stamps, they stamp a really good crisp image and are so nice to color.

Today's card is using a recently released stamp Tulip Bucket Bouquet and Bloom Wildly Sentiments:

I challenged myself with the flowers making them variegated instead of one color, blending from pink to yellow. Once colored I used a corner punch on the top left of the image and matted this onto pink and white card having used the corner rounder on both of these. I made a 5x5 inch card base and matted this with pick card from my stash I then cut a piece of patterned card into diagonal strips removing every other strip I arranged them over the pick card to give a striped background effect.
After adhering my image to the card I matted the sentiment with the same colors and rounded the bottom right corner on this - I was then fixed into position using dimensional foam squares

Tottie Breezy Fae

Good afternoon - well after a cold spell its started warming up here at last! We had a great week away last week staying on the beach at the side of  Lake Michigan

I'm here today with another new release from Faery Ink and what a cutie she is

Meet Tottie Breezy Fae, a little daisy flower with flowing hair.

As it's Spring I decided to use fresh spring like colors on the card

Just look how her hair is blowing in the breeze!

I colored her with alcohol markers, keeping with greens and yellows. i then used the same colors on the card.
using a scalloped card blank I matted it with yellow card and a cute daisy printed sheet from my stash. I rounded 2 corners on my image and matted this with yellow card again rounding 2 opposing corners. I added some yellow ombre ribbon and making a chocolate box bow and adding the cute green flower button

Tottie can be found in the newest digistamp section in the Faery Ink online store. For more inspiration on using her and all the Faery Ink digital stamps pop across to the Faery Ink Facebook page. The challenge over there this month is flowers and Tottie would be a perfect image to use for this.

Hissss.........

Good afternoon! Well we have had a real mixture of weather over the last week! Snow sun, rain and now it's starting to warm up!

Today is my showcase over at Scrapoholic Candy Shop and I have a really cute image to share with you. She comes as part of a set and has a Hippo Snuggle Pal:

Yes I've colored up this cute snake and made her rather girly

She is colored with alcohol markers and I used a white gel pen to highlight her. The sentiment was typed on my PC and added after I had colored the image.
I then used a bright pink cardstock for matting and a sheet of double sided design paper to mat the card and make the smaller accent mat.
A few coordinating pearls just balanced the image.

You can find her and all her friends in the Snuggle Palz section of the Scrapoholic Candy Shop

A flower a Day

Good afternoon, well we are almost mid way through April and the weather is cold here in Michigan

I'm back today with my second Guest Design Team showcase card for 2 Paper Divas. I am using the same stamp sets as my last post for them but in a different way to show how versatile these stamps are.

I have colored the sunflowers with alcohol markers and used a stitched edged die to cut it out. I stamped the sentiment and used the same set of dies for this just a smaller version. I then matted my card base with some orange cardstock, I placed a patterned ribbon around some coordinating design paper and adhered this to my card.
I then used the stitched die to cut 2 more coordinating cardstock mats and positioned these under my image on the left side of the card. Positioning my sentiment on the right I used small enamel dots to look like pins holding it in place. I then added a few dots to my image.

Ingredients used:
Ribbon - from my stash

Golden haired cutie

Good afternoon, It's hard to believe we are already 4 months into 2016 time is just flying by!

As it's Wednesday I'm here again with my Showcase for The Scrapoholic Candy Store, continuing with my princess babies meet Tangles

What a cutie and Mollie's all time favorite princess. her tower comes as a separate image so you can use her alone if you wish.

I colored her up using alcohol markers she is just adorable

Her green eyes are just stunning and draw you in to the image.

I then decided I was going to use the tower so colored this up. I planned to do a side stepper card with the tower on the largest part of the card but when I pulled the images together that was just not going to work so I switched it around slightly and it looked perfect

I used patterned card from my stash in coordinating colors using the lilac to mat my pink stepper card. The cardstock came with strips of mirrored card and I used one of these for the 'ribbon' along the bottom edge of my card I then adhered my princess baby and her castle to the card. Adding a sentiment which was a line taken from the movie, matted in the same card used for my base.

Using the images this way gave a different perspective so the castle doesn't look too small!

Tangles and all her baby Princesses and Princes are available in the store and are great for children's cards so why not check them all out!

April Showers

Good afternoon - April is renowned for being showery - but as the saying goes "April showers brings forth May flowers" so the rain is necessary!

Mollie has a little ditty she sings when it rains:
"Rain rain go away come again another day"

The Faery Ink image I am using today just reminds me of this - Fable April Showers isn't she just adorable?

She looks as though she is dancing through the puddles

I chose to use the version of her without the rain drops and colored her up in bright pinks and lilacs

As usual I used my alcohol markers in my favorite colors. I then matted her and my card base with a bright pink card. I chose some coordinating design paper from my stash and matted this onto the base before adding my image.
I then die cut the adorable umbrellas in matching colors and adhered these to the design. A few pink pearls just finished off the design.

April Showers Fable is one of this months new releases in the Faery Ink online store along with others which my teamies and I will be showcasing on the Facebook fan page this month.

Guest Design Team Position

Good Afternoon - While you are reading this I will be on vacation - yes we decided that as it is Spring break we would join friends and enjoy some R&R time Up State.

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to do a month long guest design team spot for 2 Paper Divas - I was delighted to accept and over the next 4 Tuesdays I will be showcasing some of their gorgeous floral stamps.

2 Paper Divas is an online stamp company owned by 2 friends - Melissa and Gayla - who stamps are influenced by their love of the mountains, ocean and outdoors they also have a vintage-style flair to some of their stamps. I love all things nature so their stamps are perfect for me to craft with!

So onto this week's showcase. I am using 2 of their stamps on my first card:

First I stamped just the sunflower heads 3 times, I then colored them before fussy cutting them and shaping them to give them dimension.

I then die cut a small scalloped oval from out of the center of a piece of design paper adhered a piece of white stamping card under this and stamps the sentiment in brown ink. This was positioned on my card blank which was matted with a coordinating brown design paper - I used the same design paper to die cut the ivy corners. I arranged the sunflowers around the sentiment, placed an ivy corner at the bottom left and trimmed the second one before placing in top right.
A few enamel dots just complete the look.
