Rainbows or Stars

Good afternoon! The weekend is almost here again - time is just flying by. It's been a busy week for us, we had to go and have bio-metrics taken as part of our Green-card application, a 3 hour round  journey for a 5 minute appointment and of course we had to be there at 8am! Hopefully we will know in the not too distant future whether we are being made into permanent residents here in the US!

Taking of being resident the little houses on Mushroom Lane are the focus of my design today They are from Riley and Company and are just the most delightful and detailed houses you can get in the form of a stamp
I have used House #2 today

I stamped the image 3 times, colored them with alcohol markers, fussy cut them out making layers of the cup. Although you can't tell from the picture, I have decoupaged the cup on the mushroom, using 3 layers cut in stages, then curving the cardstock so it gives it dimension.
The cardstock was chosen to give my card a dusk effect and I stamped the image again onto this so I had the cute little TV antenna in place - this would have been difficult to fussy cut!

The same cardstock was die cut inked and used to give some dimension to the bottom of the card by adding hills.
A few stars in the sky created with a white gel pen just finished the scene. I have then inked and stamped a Funny Bones Sentiment - Rainbows and Stars which I felt complemented the design.

Owl Fall for you!

Good morning - the temperature has really dropped here over the last few days my boots have made their way out of the closet and jeans are the order of the day!
That said I do love this time of the year it means I can walk the dogs at any time instead of early morning - late evening because during the summer Gizzie can't cope with the heat and the road is just too hot for their paws!
The leaves in our yard have started to turn and it won't be long before they are gorgeous golden, reds, oranges and browns. Just like the ones in my latest make:

Don't you just adore this gorgeous owl from Craftin Desert Divas. He comes attached to the word fall but I decided to separate them. both have been colored with alcohol markers and I have used a white gel pen to add highlights to both.
The background is a digital paper and I have stamped and die cut leaves to add definition to it. I mounted my stamped images onto tag and note page die cuts before adding them to my card. A few fall colored pearls just complete the design.

Thanks for stopping by, Craftin Desert Divas are having a challenge over on their Face book Gallery page and you have just 2 days left to enter so go check out the monthly competition pinned to the top of the Facebook Group and get entering!
As well as the Facebook group we also have a blogInstagram page and Pinterest page for more inspiration.

Exercise anyone?

Good afternoon, The fall colors are starting to come in - I love this time of year here in Michigan

Riley and Company has the seat on my blog today - quite literately!
I'm showcasing Coffee Riley today who looks so comfy sat in his arm chair with his feet up and cake and coffee.

I colored him with alcohol markers and matted him onto blue card.
The Funny Bones sentiment: Exercise Routine just fit so well with the image he looks as though he is prepared to do diddly squat!
This was stamped with black ink and again matted with blue card.

I then chose 2 coordinating papers again matted with blue card and added these to my card base which was matted with a lighter blue card. After arranging my image and sentiment I added some enamel dots just to balance the design

Pumpkin Pup

Good Afternoon, the days are finally starting to cool off but to a temperature that is great to be out and about.
I'm here again with another make using the fab stamps from Riley and Company today I am introducing a character that was introduced during the new release last month.

Isn't he just the craziest pup you have seen?

I colored him with alcohol markers but had to highlight those eyes with a florescent yellow as well as give him a shiny nose using crystal drops! As he's a Halloween character I used black and orange to mat both the image and the card. a piece of harlequin paper in the same color scheme highlights the image. I used a Halloween die cut and some orange enamel dots just to add interest to the card without distracting from that crazy pup!

Just a Note

Good afternoon - wow it's the middle of September already where is time going!!!!

I'm here again with my next showcase for Riley and Company. This time I'm showing one of the super cute Mushroom Lane Houses.

There are various little houses that make up a delightful little village - today I have used the Post Office I just love the detail these stamps have including an ATM, post box which is labeled Snail Mail and the antenna!

I colored the image with alcohol markers adding clouds to the 'sky' with a blender pen. I then matted a 5x7 inch card blank with blue card to make the image pop and used more muted patterned papers on the rest of my layers. a sentiment stamp and envelope stamp just added to the theme of the card

Calorie Free Cake Anyone?

Good afternoon, it's been a rainy morning here and looks like more is on it's way but it continues to be humid.

Today I am featured over on the Riley and Company blog with some of my makes using their cute stamps so over the next few days I will be showcasing the cards I have made.

Today isn't a card but a cake box using the adorable  Riley popping out of cake and Eat Cake sentiment from the Funny Bones range.

I used a template for the cake box and digital papers. I then colored Riley in using alcohol markers and die cut him into an oval shape, this was then fussy cut around the bottom of the cake leaving a tab as the mechanism to stand the image up.
I then stamped the sentiment in black ink and again die cut but with a scalloped oval. I inked the card before removing from the die to create a matted effect.
Once Riley was in place clear gems and Crystal Drops were then used to decorate the cake box.

Scarecrow time

Good morning it's that time of year when the farmers are all out harvesting the corn, apple orchards start making all the yummy cider and our local farms hold corn mazes and join in with the harvest parade.
Since moving to a farming community I've come to love fall for all of the above and much more. A tradition in our town is hay bale displays where local businesses will decorate hay bales as all sorts of characters.
Another theme I've seen is scarecrows made out of the dried hay and corn stalks. This leads me to my latest make. Craftin Desert Divas have changed their competitions and are now having a social media challenge. If you head over to the Facebook page you will see a theme board for this months challenge all you have to do it make something using any of their products - follow the theme and post around social media with the tag #CDDMONTHLY to be in with a chance of winning Craftin Desert Diva gift cards.

On to my inspiration for this I have used Welcome Fall Scarecrow although he's not very scary:

Isn't he just the cutest???

I printed 2 versions of him, one on white card and one on brown. I colored the white one using alcohol markers. I then cut the fence he is holding out of the brown one, embossed this with a wood grain embossing folder and sanded it to make the grain pop. I then used a craft knife, cut around the colored versions hands and slid the fence underneath gluing it in place making him "hold it"
I used some design paper from my stash and matted this and my image with the same brown card. A few die cuts that look like straw and die-cut "friend" just finish my design.

Thank you for stopping by - don't forget to go and check out the monthly competition pinned to the top of the Facebook Group and get entering!
As well as the Facebook group we also have a blogInstagram page and Pinterest page for more inspiration.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Smile you are on Camera

Good morning! The weather here is hot hot hot! which would be nice however the humidity is also very high so it's difficult to be outside for long

Today I is my turn to showcase over at Scrap n' Dipity and I have a cute image for you today.
Meet Reid and Rose an adorable couple who are posing to have their photo taken

I have colored them with my alcohol markers and used the colors from their clothes for my card design.
I matted my card blank with purple card and some cute floral design paper. Using a coordinating paper I made 2 small mats and placed these in opposing angles.
I then matted my image with the same purple card and adhered this using foam tape for dimension.

The flowers are a tuck in die again cut from the same card along with the Smile sentiment.
A few pearls made from crystal drops just balance the design.

Thank you for stopping by  - for more inspiration please check out the Scrap N' Dipity Facebook fan group
We also have a challenge blog where you can win some of the gorgeous digi-stamps.

Faeries in the moonlight

Good afternoon, well the kids are back at school and enjoying it and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet again!
James is in his final year wow can't believe I am Mom to a senior! Mollie has moved into second grade and already loves her teacher but then she loves everything about school.

Today is my Inspiration day over at Faery Ink and I am getting the chance to color up some of my favorite type of images - a Pin Up Faery!

Meet Pin-Up Toadstool Faery:

She is just stunning. I have colored her using my alcohol markers and fussy cut her to add her to my design

The background is a digital print - I printed 2 of these and cut the layers off one so I could tuck the faery behind them integrating her into the design more.
This was then matted onto a dark purple card before adding to my card blank to make it pop more.
I added stars using a white gel pen and the design was complete!

I hope that this has given you some ideas of what you can do with this beauty. She is available for purchase over at Faery Ink along with lots of other gorgeous digital stamps

Hello Ducky!

Good morning! the sun is still shining here, it's a holiday weekend so spending time with my fab family!

Today card is using a super cute digital stamp from Craftin Desert Divas called In the Rain Duck.

isn't he just adorable!!!
I colored him with my Alcohol Markers but instead of coloring the umbrella I cut it out and made it into a shaker using acetate, foam pads. The shaker pieces are fishy sequins and micro-beads.
I matted the image card onto read card sealing in the shaker pieces, following this I then used the same red card to die-cut Hello and the circles and stars
The completed card front was then placed on a white card base.
Such a simple but effective card to make!
