National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Good morning, today is National Coffee Day and SumMore Fun are happy to be teaming up with the Coffee Loving Card Makers group and all the other wonderful companies that are sponsoring today's hop.
After you are done hopping along with me and my talented design team sisters head back to the SumMore Fun Blog post to find out who is the next company to head on to.

You should have arrived here from The SumMore Fun Blog post If not the list of my teamies is below.

My card for the blog hop is using on of the cups from the SumMore Fun Simple Coffee Digi Pack along with a number of other stamps I will list in my instructions:

I colored the mug using alcohol markers and then stamped it with the grass and flowers from the Spring is in The Air stamp set. I then fussy cut it and put to one side.
I then chose the Dots Set stamp set  and used similar colors that I had on the coffee cup to addspots and dots all over a piece of white card. I left a space to add my Just Wanted To Say Hi sentiment which I stamped in black ink. I then matted my dotted card onto a card base. I adhered a piece of white foam to the back of my cup and glued this to the card to give the cup dimension.

SumMore Fun is going to be giving away some amazing prizes. There are prizes for commenting on the SumMore Fun Blog as well as goodies for commenting on all of my teamies coffee hop posts on their blogs. To find out more details check out the SumMore Fun Coffee Blog Hop Post

Rustic Wedding

Good morning, fall has arrived, we are still getting some really warm days but is so nice to have them mixed with cooler days too.
Living out in a huge farm and country area the theme for a lot of the weddings here is very rustic and I was so happy to see the theme of SumMore Fun's next mood board challenge was just that. You can check the details out below but here is my take on it:

I used a cream piece of card and stamped the main image from the SumMore Fun growing Love stamp set I then added the small dots and hearts using stamps from the same set.
Once this was dry I stamped the Best Wishes sentiment in versamark across my original image. I then heat embossed this with some tan colored powder.
I matted a 6x6 inch white base card with hessian cardstock and roughed up the edges. I added some cream lace and then matted a piece of teal card and my topper onto the card.
I added a few cream pearl hearts to finish.

Ride On

Good morning, It's Saturday again which means this year is going way too quickly. If you haven't already it will soon be time to start thinking about the holidays!

I'm just going to hold that thought for a little longer and enjoy what is left of this month. Today's card was made using SumMore Fun's Highway High Stamp set from Raisin Boat

I started with an 7.5 x 7.5 inch white card base and matted this with blue card. I then stamped the motorcycle onto X-press It card along with 'Ride On' - one of the many sentiments in the set. I colored the bike using my alcohol markers and matted the image onto the same blue card I had used on my base. I then stamped the wheel, again from the same set, onto black card multiple times with versamark ink. This was then embossed with clear embossing powder before adhering to my card base instead of patterned paper.

This gave a muted but effective background to my main image.

I then added my image to the top left corner of my card base. I die cut Happy Birthday from brushed silver mirror card 3 times and stacked these on top of each other giving the effect of a metal sentiment.
A used a few silver card candi pieces just to balance my design.

Seeking Nectar

Good morning, we still have high temperatures but all the recent storms means we have had an explosion of mosquitoes hatching. They are everywhere and are biting like crazy!

There are definite signs that fall is on the way though, one of them is the migration of my favorite little bird. The hummingbirds are so fun to watch feeding during the summer months. For today's card I have colored one of them from my favorite Sheena Douglass stamp set Tropical Nectar:

I made this card for a friend's mother-in-law's birthday, the flower and the humming bird were stamped on to X-press It card stock using Memento Ink and colored with alcohol markers. I then chose a sentiment stamp from a set by Penny Black called Special Thoughts.
I folded my card base from a piece of  white card stock cut to 10 x 7 inch and matted this with a piece of pink card stock that matched the colors in the flower.
Once my colored image was adhered to my card base I added a shower of pink pearls around the image.

Fall Thanks

Good morning, fall is in the air and the trees are starting to change color. This is my favorite time of the year I love the colors, the cooler weather and of course the pumpkin spice!

The SumMore Fun mood board challenge has all the colors of fall this time round, check out the mood board lower down my post.

For my card I have used the colors for my background. For the first time I have experimented with distress oxide inks and I think I like them!

I used Fossilized Amber, vintage phot and peeled paint and blended them across my card. Before I left it to dry I spritzed it with water.
Once dry I used the SumMore Fun Growing Love stamp set to stamp the branches in a random pattern across my card. I then die cut THANKS twice, gluing these on top of each other to give me dimension. I then stamped 'for helping me grow' from the same stamp set onto black card using embossing ink. This was then embossed with white glimmer powder. I matted my card base with deep red cardstock and added my design.
I glazed my thanks die cut with magic transparent Pearl Pen and added black pearls randomly around my card.

Floral Birthday

Good Morning, now that all the storms have passed the temperature is much cooler!

I have been working on large cards this week and today's card is an 8x8 inch birthday card:

I used SumMore Fun's Growing Love Stamp Set to first stamp pale pink flowers and dots onto a white piece of card. I then matted this with some pink card stock onto a scalloped card base.
I then stamped one of the larger flowers twice onto post-it note paper and cut this out to use as a mask. I then stamped 2 of the same flowers and masked these with the post-it notes. I stamped a further 2 flowers in each arrangement. I then colored these with alcohol markers and used a grey pencil for shadows. This gives the flowers depth so they look as though they are stacked rather than stamped on flat cardstock.
I then arranged these with some die cut leaves in the corners of my card. I added the happy birthday die cut and some pink crystal gems scattered around the card.
