Junk Journal Card

Good Morning, we still have plenty of snow but it's not impacting on our days which is a bonus.

It's new challenge day over at Arty Divas and we have a fabulous sponsor this time Vectoria Designs among lots of other things they do digital junk journals and I was challenged this time to design using their Botanical Junk Journal. I don't journal in my craft life so I decided I would challenge myself to make a card using the kit.

What I Did:
I started with the tags, I cut one out as a whole and then used 4 more to cut different parts of the flowers and butterflies out. I  made a 5x7in card base from white card and matted this red card, drawing the colors from the tag flowers. I then reduced the size of one of the journal pages, printed it and used this as my design paper. I matted the remaining tag and adhered this to my card. I then used glue gel to layer the tiny flower and butterfly pieces on to this giving the card dimension.

I die cut thanks 3 times from the red card and stacked these on top of one another before adhering in place on my card.
I had extra butterflies left so I again cut these in layers stacked them with gel glue and added above my sentiment

What I Used:
Digital elements: Botanical Junk Journal

Neenah bright white card - for printing the images
Core'dinations premium white cardstock
Core'dinations red cardstock
Collal all purpose glue
Collal glue gel
Hero Arts thanks die
Stick-It adhesive sheets

Our challenge is anything goes so if you craft or make art you can join in. Just head on over to the blog and add your design!

Kawaii Meow

Good afternoon, we are having a lazy day today since so much snow was forecast.

I'm back today with the other Kawaii new release from Scrapper's Delights. This is a collection of images and sentiments called Kawaii Meow. I have chosen to use 2 of the images and a sentiment but there is also a milk carton, a food dish and paw print included along with another sentiment.

It is just a hungry kitty:

What I Did
I used my graphics program to put the kitty in her bed and add the sentiment, having png files really works for scene building! I then printed onto stamping card.

I colored the kitty and bed with copic markers.

I made a white 5x7in card base from 110lb card and matted this with a green card that coordinated with my coloring.

I adhered my image to my card, die cut 2 paw prints and added these.

To finish the card I colored the sentiment with a blue glossy gel pen and added crystal glaze to all the eyes and the kitty's nose.

What I Used
Digital stamps: Kawaii Meow

Stamping Card: X-Press It
Copic Markers
White card: Core'Dinations Premuim
Green Card: Core'Dinations
Kraft Card: The Paper Shelter
Glossy Gel Pen: Gelly Roll
Paw Print Die
Crystal Glaze: Nuvo

Kawaii Kitties

Good afternoon, we are waiting on another snow front coming in that is supposed to last the weekend. We didn't get half of what was expected last week so we'll just so how it goes. It is very cold out though!

My card today is highlighting a new image from Scrapper's Delights. Janice who owns the company has decided to design Kawaii images and I LOVE them! So much so that i have used both of the new images. Today's card is using Kawaii Miss Kitty She is so adorable and has her own sentiments included.

Here's What I Did
I printed the image and Hello sentiment onto stamping card and colored her with my Copic markers. I added some freckles with a gel pen to both her and her kitty hat.

I then used my scan n Cut to cut the Hello letters. While it was cutting I trimmed my image down and inked the edges of the card.

I cut my card base from 110lb card and folded this to form a 5x7in card

I then chose some printed patterned paper that fit with my colors in my image. As this had a fine green line running through it I used green card to mat this and my image on to.

I adhered my image to my card, as is normal for me I put her at an angle. My letters were placed on pop dots and positioned along the bottom of the card

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Kawaii Miss Kitty

Stamping Card: X-Press It
Copic Markers
Uniball white gel pen
Distress Ink: Worn Lipstick
White card: Core'Dinations Premium
Green Card: Core'Dinations
Patterned Paper: Lili of the Valley (retired)
Zipdry Glue
foam pop dots

Thanks for stopping by, come back tomorrow to see another of these super cute images. If you like what you see or just want to say hi then leave me a comment

Finding Balance

Good afternoon, It's the 3rd Thursday of the month which mean Scrapper's Delights is doing their thrifty Thursday offers this week, head over to their store to see what fab offers they have

I got the play with anime Grace, she is both an angel and a devil, which sounds very much like Mollie but lets not go there! No, life is all about balance you can't take the good without the bad and visa versa. I wanted to highlight both sides of Grace so I colored her hair in different colors as well as highlighting the difference with blue and grey backgrounds. As she is both an angel and a devil I colored the gems around her feet and on her scythe green for envy - I'm sure this would be a deadly sin that would show its face with such a split personality. The sentiment is one that comes with the image and one I'm going to use to focus me this year!

Head on over to the Scrapper's Delights Store to see all of this weeks thrifty offers.

Arty Divas Challenge!

Good morning! I have some exciting news to share with you, I am joining Arty Diva's Challenge as a design team member! It's a challenge that has sponsors so I get a wide range cool selection of images to play with.

Challenge #13 starts today and we have a really sweet Sponsor, Tandiart Fairytale art work from Sylxia Gryczuk has some cute images, most are pre-colored like the Fairy Collage 5 I am using today.

I have chosen one of the fairies, and fussy cut and shaped some of the flowers and a heart that is in the collection. I used some ditsy design paper which complements some of the colors in the images. I chose to pick the bright green from the fairy dress and my card for mats and some die cut flowers I added to complement the design.

The challenge is a 2 weekly one that starts on a Tuesday so here we are!!!
Thank you so much for visiting and head over to the challenge blog to enter - good luck!!!

Kuddly Koala

Good afternoon, We are supposed to be under a winter storm warning with up to a foot of snow but so far it's only raining. It's so cold that it's freezing rain so if the snow does come it will likely settle.

I'm sure you have all seen the devastation that is hitting Australia with all the fires. Being a huge animal lover it is so sad seeing all the pictures of the native animals suffering and dying. So today's card is in honor of them. I love koala bears and couldn't imagine a world without them. I still have my childhood bear bought for me by my Nanna and he is a koala bear.

The image on my card is one of Lili Of The Valley's digital stamps, I have colored him with Copic markers. I used card scraps from my stash to decorate the card which led to me doing a purge of scraps - who else collects bits of card and design papers just in case?

Supply List:
X-press It card stock
Koala digital stamp - Lili of The Valley
Copic Markers
White Card Stock for base card - The Paper Studio
Blue cardstock - Core'dinations
Leaves - Sylvan Frame: Poppy Stamp
Design paper - from stash

It's Thrifty Thursday over at Scrapper's Delights go check out the website for this weeks deals!
When we first arrived in the USA and Mollie was able to make snow angels standing up the snow was so deep!
So I couldn't resist Willy Snow Angel- he's perfect for this time of year:

Isn't he just the happiest little penguin! and I had to give him some snowy dimension so I used a snow writer and added extra glitter:

Best Wishes in Pretty Lilac

Good afternoon! the temperature here is currently 18 degrees Fahrenheit - soooo cold!  I'm tucked up inside with my fur babies and don't plan on venturing far today!

My design today was for a colleague of my husband, I have posted before about the card club he runs at work. I make a mixture of male and female cards for this and it challenges me because of the larger size needed. They have to be 8x8in cards so there is plenty of room for colleagues to write their birthday wishes to the recipient.
This card main feature is Crafter's Companion's Blossoming Lilacs Layering stamps. I love the effect you get from the layering, it gives such a realistic look to the flowers. I chose muted papers so that the stamped flowers really do pop.

Supply List:
8x8in card base - Craft UK
Blossoming Lilacs Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Stamping Card: Solar White - Neenah Classic Crest
Glacier Caves Inks - Altenew
Green Meadows Inks - Altenew
Rustic Cottage Chic Butterflies Dies - Sara's Signature Collection
Design Paper: Fresh Petal - Lili of The Valley

Hello!

Happy New Year! We have had a a quiet family time, it's been great just to kick back and do nothing However it's back to reality tomorrow. The snow has returned and looks like it may hang around for a bit now!

My card today is using Susan's Garden Flowers, I love these dies they are so easy to use, yes they take time to build but I honestly enjoy sitting, coloring, shaping and building them. I have a number of them now, For this card I have used columbine and forget-me-not.

The card base is a pre-cut one that I have had in my stash for years but was unsure what to do with them. I have a number of different ones I think they were from Creative Crafting World but I may be wrong! The flowers add dimension to your cards so the sturdy base of the card holds the weight of the flowers well. They also take ink well, I have blended Distress Ink here and it went on smoothly

I am getting back to entering my designs in to challenges, here's the ones I'm entering this one into:

Supply List:
Susans' Garden Flowers: Forget-me-not - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Susan's Garden Club: Columbine - Tonic
Shaped card base - Creative Crafting World
Distress ink - Spun Sugar
Nuvo Alcohol Markers - Tonic Studios
Pan Pastels Raw Umber, bright Yellow Green
Karen Burniston Word dies: Set 1 - Hello
blue pearls
pink ribbon
Ranger Matt medium
Gina K connect glue.
