Wine and Canvas

Good morning, Hope you all had a fab Christmas and Santa was kind to you - He was to me I was thoroughly spoiled by family and friends

A few weeks before Christmas my BFF and I went to a wine and canvas evening, well for us it was a cocktail and canvas - that actually sounds better!

We painted a snowman family using water soluble acrylic paint. I have proudly displayed the canvas in my craft room.

We started with blank canvases and lightly marked out our family:

So Mommy, Daddy and Mollie. You can just see my friends canvas - she was brave and did all 6 of her family!
Once we had done this step and everyone had caught up we moved on to filling in the background, the original painting looked like it was a wooden background so we used various shades of brown:

Once this was dried we moved on to the snowmen (well snowman, snowwoman and child lol)
We painted the white in first giving it a good couple of layers so it covered the drawn lines

Adding the colors for the scarves before doing the final white layers.
After a break to allow the white to dry we got to give them their personalities - well their faces:

I also added some highlights and shading to the scarves.

The final stage was to outline the snowmen, I didn't trust my hand to be steady enough to do this with a paint brush so I waited until I was home and used a sharpie marker to do this

This was the 2nd Wine and Canvas we had done. They are held at our local gold course restaurant.
The first one we did was in October and we painted a fall scene:

We are now looking forward to Spring and summer so we have a full collection!

Winter Wonderland

Happy Saturday! I don't know about you but I am struggling to work out what day it is - having Kev and Mollie at home makes every day the same

I'm here today to showcase a SumMore Fun winter stamp set, I have used Winter Heart and Sole on my card which is currently discounted:

Do you get the play on words? Sole - yes the stamp set has skates and snow shoes! I chose to color the skates with my alcohol markers. I added the sentiment and randomly stamped the snowflakes (also in the stamp set!) in weathered wood distress ink.
I matted my scalloped card base with some blue card that complemented to inking and coloring. then added my topper.
I then used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen on each snowflake to make them glisten which is difficult to pick up with the camera.

Thinking of You at Christmas

Good morning from a snowy Michigan. We had a heavy snow fall on Sunday night and a few flurries since so it seems to be hanging around!

It's the start of our December Challenge over at SumMore Fun and this month's theme is of course Christmas crafting. You enter by leaving your photo on our SumMore Fun Creations Facebook page in the December challenge album. Don't forget you can use any SumMore Fun stamps to enter and if you subscribe to the newsletter you can get free digital stamps and use these to enter!

On to my make - I love the Swirl Christmas Tree so I decided to use this to make my own design paper: I stamped it multiple times in different angles with green ink

I then used the same green ink on the Thinking of You at Christmas sentiment. I matted my 4.25inx5.5in card base with some festive green mirror card and added my design paper. My sentiment was matted with the same card and I used some green foam sheet to add this to my card giving it dimension. To finish added some pearl pen in Emerald which has a great shine to tie in with the mirror card.
D
Don't forget that all you have to do is use one of SumMore Fun stamps somewhere on your project to enter our challenge.

All dressed up half way reminder

Good morning! I'm sorry I've not been around, life took a turn and I had to concentrate on things around me - BUT I'm back and will be posting more than ever as I have lots of new goodies to show you

All you need to do is follow this month's current theme which is All Dressed Up and use at least one of their many stamps (even one of the digital freebies!) and you could win a $20 gift card, if the design team love your make we will be giving a prize of $15.

You don't need a blog, you just need a photo of your creation and post it in the current challenge album on our SumMore Fun Creations Face book Page

Ok this month's theme is All dressed up, yes we have just had Halloween so could be a Halloween make but don't forget about Thanksgiving - turkeys, Christmas, party season it's all go at this time of year and we all have some even to make crafts for that will include dressing up.

We don't just want to see cards, if you do mixed media, scrapbooking, journaling, planners anything goes as long as it's hand made by you and follows our theme.

I have decided to do a Christmas themed card for this post. with Jolly old St Nick himself making a comeback

Yes Santa himself gets dressed up for his night on the tiles!
I stamped the Large Dear Old Santa in black ink and colored him with alcohol markers. I then used a circle die to cut him out and inked the edges of the white card so it wasn't so stark.
I matted a white card base with red card and this gorgeous vintage patterned paper. I positioned my image on the card. I then added transparent pearl pen to his glasses imitating the lenses.
I die cut 'believe' and added a few color matching pearls to balance the design.

SumMore Fun - New Release Blog Hop

Good morning

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!

Yes it's new release day over at SumMore Fun and to celebrate we are having a design team blog hop. My teamies have come up with some amazing designs for the new release and we want to share these with you while giving you the chance to win prizes.

I have used the Soda-lighted set again as I love the versatility of this set.

I started by stamping 4 of the cans, three on my topper and the fourth on a separate piece of card. I colored all of them with alcohol markers and fussy cut the fourth one. This was then curved and placed over the center can using glue gel to give dimension. I added the sprays of pop and drips down side of one can. these had magic transparent pearl pen added to them to give the look of wetness. I also added clear droplets as bubbles
I then added some of the words from the stamp set amongst the bubbles. The sentiment is one of three available in the set. My scalloped card base was matted with red card and was my sentiment.

Now for the blog hop
Visit everyone's blogs and make sure to leave comments on everyone's pages. Each comment gets you another entry to win 6 Distress Oxide pads in the colors of your choice! (Retail value of $35.94)

Sneak Peek Three - Yes You Can!

Good morning!

Today is the last day of sneak peeks from SumMore Fun and as it is breast cancer Awareness month it is so fitting:

The set is called You Can and is an all word set, except for the ribbon. It's not just for cancer. The words in this card can be use for anyone who is struggling and need words of encouragement.

I have used pink for breast cancer as this is a disease that is very close to my heart.
I started by stamping the YOU CAN onto pink card with pink ink. This is one stamp but I cut it into 2 separate words so I could add the ribbon in the middle of them. I then stamped the remainder words onto a larger piece of the same pink card.
I chose a matching pink ribbon and layered a hugs and kisses ribbon over this. I then adhered these to the larger pink card.
I matted a white card base and my YOU CAN card with dark pink card My piece with ribbon was then matted onto the base. Using foam to give dimension I added my YOU CAN to the center of my card and as usual with my cards a few pink gems just balanced out the design.

What fun would this be without prizes?
None, that's what -and we can't have that!

If you watched our unboxing video, you saw that we ordered a bunch of 6x6 paper packs to play with. We're looking for designs to start monthly kits, but we can't order just one paper pack at a time. We have at least 2 of every design! Want to get one mailed to you for free?

SumMore Fun - Another Sneak Peek - Can you believe it!

Good morning!
I'm here with my second sneak peek using new release stamps from SumMore Fun.

Don't forget, comment on mine and my teamie's posts and you can win prizes details below.

Who likes their soda? If you do you'll love this set Soda-lighted:

The cans come in 2 sizes, here I have used the large, masked one off to stamp the one laying down. I have colored them using alcohol markers. As the cans are already popped open I added a couple of drips coming from the one on it's side and added Nuvo Crystal Glaze on this to give a shine.
As I wanted my card to be simple I matted a white base with matching "Fanta" orange card. I then stamped the word Soda on the cans and one of the sentiments from the set.

What fun would this be without prizes?
None, that's what -and we can't have that!

SumMore Fun New Release Sneak Peek - Tinsel Tease

Good Morning, after a week of sweating in Vegas we are now freezing in Michigan but I can live with that!

SumMore Fun has an exciting week planned this week. We, the design team,  are starting with sneak peeks of some fab new stamp releases later this week. Yes I know it's only fall but Christmas isn't far away and today we are showing you some of the gorgeous images from a new Christmas stamp set  that is being released.

Oh and if you comment on all the sneak peek posts for today you can win a prize - check details below for more info!

So here is my card using Tinsel Tease:

I love making clean and simple cards and this is just that. I used the pine bough 4 times to make a branch long enough to hang the bells and bauble on. I colored the bells and lightly tinted the bauble to make it look like glass.
I then stamped one of the many sentiments in to the bauble. Yes they all fit inside if that is how you want to use them.
I matted a red card base with a green mirror card and added my topper. To fit in with the sentiment I added a jingle bell with a red bow.

Now onto the prizes:
If you watched the SumMore Fun unboxing video over on Facebook, you saw that they ordered a bunch of 6x6 paper packs to play with. they are looking for designs to start monthly kits, but can't order just one paper pack at a time. the have at least 2 of every design! Good morning, today is National Coffee Day and SumMore Fun are happy to be teaming up with the Coffee Loving Card Makers group and all the other wonderful companies that are sponsoring today's hop.
After you are done hopping along with me and my talented design team sisters head back to the SumMore Fun Blog post to find out who is the next company to head on to.

You should have arrived here from The SumMore Fun Blog post If not the list of my teamies is below.

My card for the blog hop is using on of the cups from the SumMore Fun Simple Coffee Digi Pack along with a number of other stamps I will list in my instructions:

I colored the mug using alcohol markers and then stamped it with the grass and flowers from the Spring is in The Air stamp set. I then fussy cut it and put to one side.
I then chose the Dots Set stamp set  and used similar colors that I had on the coffee cup to addspots and dots all over a piece of white card. I left a space to add my Just Wanted To Say Hi sentiment which I stamped in black ink. I then matted my dotted card onto a card base. I adhered a piece of white foam to the back of my cup and glued this to the card to give the cup dimension.

SumMore Fun is going to be giving away some amazing prizes. There are prizes for commenting on the SumMore Fun Blog as well as goodies for commenting on all of my teamies coffee hop posts on their blogs. To find out more details check out the SumMore Fun Coffee Blog Hop Post

Rustic Wedding

Good morning, fall has arrived, we are still getting some really warm days but is so nice to have them mixed with cooler days too.
Living out in a huge farm and country area the theme for a lot of the weddings here is very rustic and I was so happy to see the theme of SumMore Fun's next mood board challenge was just that. You can check the details out below but here is my take on it:

I used a cream piece of card and stamped the main image from the SumMore Fun growing Love stamp set I then added the small dots and hearts using stamps from the same set.
Once this was dry I stamped the Best Wishes sentiment in versamark across my original image. I then heat embossed this with some tan colored powder.
I matted a 6x6 inch white base card with hessian cardstock and roughed up the edges. I added some cream lace and then matted a piece of teal card and my topper onto the card.
I added a few cream pearl hearts to finish.
