New Home

Good morning, we are expecting more winter storms today and we are heading out to a birthday party so I am hoping that they aren't that bad!

Today's card is a new home card using my favorite CAS style:

I started with a white piece of card and masked the top and bottom of it. I then used a blending brush to blend 2 shades of purple dye ink in the center of the card. I then used stamps from 4 Crafter's Companion sets. Using fine black ink I stamped the little toadstool village from Fairy Magic along the bottom edge of my blended section. The stamp was a little short so I lined it up again and stamped it again filling the lower edge of the purple section, I love stamps that you can do this with.
My little fairy is from Fairy Door stamp set and I gave her fairy dust from the Sparkle Garden set.
Once this was all dry I stamped Home Sweet Home sentiment from Love Blooms.
I made a 5x7 inch card base from white card and matted this with purple and black card. I then added my stamped card.
I few little purple glitter dots just balanced the card.

Wishes

Hello! I'm slowly getting back to blogging and have decided it was time for a name change. I have had this name in my head for a while now so decided to let it free and use it!

Today's card is using some gorgeous stamps from SumMore Fun, unfortunately the company is for sale but this means they are having some fantastic sales so check out their Facebook page for super deals.

I have used 2 stamp sets on this card, the first Growing Love is has some pretty and quirky flowers as well as some accents that you can use on the flowers or along side of them. I chose one of the main flowers which looks like a dandelion, I stamped it in a light grey color. I think used a stippled effect stamp from same stamp to look like the floating seeds.
The sentiment I stamped in green is from Flourishing Thoughts stamp set. it has a large selection of sentiments that can be used for any type of card.
I matted a 4.25 x 5.5inch card base with green card in a shade similar to my sentiment ink and then added my stamped topper.
I added some iridescent white gems among the 'seeds' for added interest.

Have a "woofly" Day

Good morning from a freezing Michigan. We have had some really cold weather with snow and ice storms and it's not over yet but that gives me more of an excuse to stay inside and craft.

Today's make is a cute card as part of my application to Jo's Scrap Shack design team. I couldn't resist this Corgi from Some Odd Girl and thought him just right to show off my CAS style:

Isn't he the cutest? I printed him on to X-press It cardstock and colored him with alcohol markers. To keep this clean I just typed up a sentiment on my pc and printed this along side the little guy. I matted the topper onto 2 shades of brown card and added them to a 5x7in card base.
Simple but cute card!

Twisted Kingfisher

Good morning, we still have snow lingering and temperatures are due to drop again today so I'm staying nice and warm indoors

Todays card is using a technique I haven't used for a long while, while doing some reorganizing I decided to pull out my crafting CDs. The one I have used today has some gorgeous British wildlife art work from the late Pollyanna Pickering.

The image is a twisted decoupage, the picture is printed out in five different layers which are all adhered on top of each other with foam squares giving the picture a twisted look.
You can see it in more detail here:

After I had made up this topper, I matted a black 8x8in card base with blue card matching it as near as possible to the blue printed around the topper. I then added some coordinating digital paper. I matted my twisted topper and a smaller topper of the same image with black card and arranged these on to my card base gluing them in place with wet glue.
I didn't have card candy to coordinate with my card so I colored some white pieces with alcohol markers. A die cut 'happy birthday' finished my design.
this card is for a man however I think the stunning image could be used for either a masculine or feminine card depending on how it is embellished.

Thanks for stopping by and as always if you like what you see please leave some love in the comments

Cheers!

Good morning sorry I have been absent for a while, my dad's death hit me hard and I have not been in the mood for crafting jus doing the odd card here and there but after doing some reorganizing of my craft room I have found my mojo again and am ready to jump back in.
We have had an extremely cold week with a ton of snow, temperatures have been well below zero and the wind chill has made is hazardous to venture out. For now it has warmed up and the snow has started to shrink back.

Today I am sharing a birthday card I made using a digi stamp from one of my many CDs:

I printed the stamp onto X-press It card and colored it with my alcohol markers. I then matted this with green card, pulling the color from the bottles. I then matted an 8x8in white card base with the same green card and some digital paper from the same CD.

I mounted my colored topper into the right hand bottom corner of the card leaving room for some card Candy.
Lastly I die cut the word cheers again from the green card and adhered this to my topper.

This was a card for a male friend. I always struggle with masculine cards but thought that this hit the spot!
