Exciting News!!!!

Good morning - very early for me but I'm here in spirit if not out of my bed yet!

I have some exciting news to share I am a new design team member for Scrapper's Delights. I have joined their New Release team and this weekend there are special offers happening as Scrapper's Delights have reached 3,000 likes on Facebook.

The new release is all about Steam Punk and if your a follower of my blog you will know that Steam punk is not one of my strongest themes so I used my image as a Victorian Lady.

She looks so elegant so I chose not to distract from this in my design

I colored her up using alcohol markers then chose the colors of her dress to design the rest of the card. Using cream and burgundy card for my mats and die cut flowers. After matting my card base and image I added cream lace to the edge of the image before adhering this to the card. after fixing the flowers in place I added crystal drops to the centers and to the right hand corner of the card.

Ingredients used:
Lace from my stash

I am extremely excited about being part of the team and sharing my designs with you over the coming months but for now why not pop over to the Scrapper's Delight Blog and check out the blog hop going on there.
You can also use the code below in the store and get 35% off your order of $5 or more.

I can build a rainbow!!!!

Good afternoon, here's the 2nd post from me today and Wow is a colorful one!!!

Faery Ink had a fab new release this month which just screamed color me!!!

When I chose her as my design team inspiration image I knew straight away I was going to challenge myself and give her rainbow hair!! My go to colors for hair are usually brown or blonde so doing this was a real challenge for me.
Artist
It took patience to work out which part of her hair went with which so I could carry the same colored strand from root to tip.
I used alcohol markers but then added Aqua fine tip markers over the top to add texture.
She was then fussy cut before adding her to the gorgeous rainbow paper from my stash. I typed the sentiment on my pc and printed it in multiple colors.
The skittles were also rainbow colors to just follow the color theme through.
Ingredients Used:
Rainbow deisgn paper - from my stash

I hope that this has given you some ideas of what you can do with this beauty.
Lahla can be purchased over in the Faery Ink Store along with other digital stamps

Happy Anniversary Kev!!!

Today is our 7th wedding Anniversary - and I love my hubby more today than I ever have!!!
Wow how time flies and how far we have come in just this short time!

I have used an image from The East Wind, she is voluptuous just like me!!!

Not that I would ever dare where a dress like this or those heels - I would definitely end up with toppling over!

I imported the image into my graphics program and added the sentiment to make it look as she is leaning on the words. Once printed, I colored Lisa using my alcohol markers. I have used Copics for my skin color instead of my usual Spectrum Noirs - I like the effect and am eventually going to be moving across to these.
Once colored I matted her onto black card stock - as this is a card for a man I tried to keep int masculine looking. The mirror card I used has a pattern with love birds on it so I felt this was appropriate. I again matted this onto black card and then onto a white card blank. I colored some card candi black to coordinate with the design.

As well as for our anniversary I am using this card as my submission for The East Wind Design Team Call. just hope they like it!!!

Birdie and his bird house!

Good afternoon! Nice and summery here today just how I like it - not too hot but warm enough to enjoy the sunshine!

I'm showcasing a great summery image today from The Scrapoholic Candy Shop the gorgeous Bird House Birdie

He was one of last week's new releases so I had to have him to pair him up with the image I showcased last week.

He was great to color and as we have some gorgeous blue birds come to our feeders I've colored him in blue tones

I used my go to alcohol markers adding texture to the wood, leaves and plant pot with fine liners
The design papers I used are from a free magazine set and I thought they toned well with the color scheme I used on the image. I then chose red card to mat the image pulling this again from the hearts on the image.
The red hearts were cut using a new die that I love and again I felt these drew the eye into the red on the image.
I haven't used any other embellishments as I thought the image was busy enough to not need anything else

You can Bird House Birdie and all the new releases at the Scrapoholic Candy Shop

Faery Ink Giveaway

Good afternoon - Wow we are at mid-May already where is the time going!!

It's the One Day Fae time over at Fairy Ink and the gorgeous Maggie Daisy Fae is up for grabs!

You can find her free here

I have colored her up with my alcohol markers and decided to go more fussy than my norm with my card

Once colored I inked around my image with distress ink. I added design paper from Lili of the Valley to my card base and inked this too. I then chose a coordinating paper from the same collection and tore this before placing under my image.
I used a tuck in die and lace to add a bit of texture. Then embellished the card with mulberry flowers and die cut butterflies. I then die cut "hi" twice using colors from the design and adhered these to the card slightly overlapping so that it gave the effect of shadowing.

It's Faery Ink's birthday this month and there has been lots of fun going on on the Facebook page. There are freebies still available and we would love to see what you can do with them so don't forget to post your images on the Facebook page for us all to see!

Happy Birthday Faery Ink!!!

Good afternoon!
Faery Ink is 13 years old today there images are so cute and Amanda the artist has an amazing talent bringing us these adorable faeries and other images.

We have a challenge running this month and the theme is birthdays so get your Faery Ink images colored up and enter here

Today I am showcasing my make in celebration of the birthday month.
I have chosen to use Birthday Girl

She's such a pretty girl and a challenge to color with all those balloons

I decided to do an easel card. I colored the image using my alcohol markers and fussy cut around the balloons.
I used a birthday design paper from my stash to cover my card base and used pink card to mat this onto. I also matted the image and again cut around the balloons so they would stand above the card.
I die cut a few balloons and arranged these around the card using foam dots to give them dimension and adding strings to the balloons on the stand up part of the card.
I then typed up the sentiment on my PC using Faery Moot font! I placed this on the base of the card to act as the stopper for the easel

Ingredients Used:

Happy Birthday Faery Ink

Bird in a bath!!

Good afternoon, it's a beautiful day here in Michigan and I've been doing some summery coloring

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop has released some gorgeous summer images this week and I couldn't wait to play with them

The first one I have used is Bathing Birdie

This cute image was perfect for the theme I had mind - a Baptism card

I colored the image with my alcohol markers choosing muted colors in the main but then making the bird pop with bright yellow
I kept to the summer theme with the design paper and chose a bright pink from the paper for the matting layers.
I typed the sentiment on my PC and again matted this with the same colored card.
I few graduated pearls in coordinating colors was all that was needed to finish the design

You can Bathing Birdie and all the new releases at the Scrapoholic Candy Shop

Have a hoot!

Good morning from a rainy Michigan! I think the weather thinks it is still April!

Today I'm showcasing my all time favorite bird a cute little owl from Scrapoholic Candy Shop

He is part of the Snuggle Palz and is a 2 digistamp set his pal being a super cute Giraffe

I have chosen to color him in traditional owl colors and giving him a big pink heart on his tummy.

I used alcohol markers for most of him and then fine line water makers to give texture to his feathers.
The branch and leaves were die cut and I fussy cut the owl so I could sit him on the branch
I then chose a digital backing paper with clouds on to look as though he was high up the tree.
I stamped sentiment which was fitting finishes off my design

You can find him and all his friends in the Snuggle Palz section of the Scrapoholic Candy Shop
