exciting news and who wants cake?

Good morning it's finally snowing here but only lightly and I don't think it's going to hang around until Christmas one place we could almost be guaranteed a white Christmas and for the 2nd year running it is unlikely!

On to my news I have to share - I applied for a guest design team position at Faery Ink in November and left it open when I could design for them. a couple of weeks ago Amanda messaged me offering me a full time position on the team -I was so delighted and of course I said yes immediately.

I officially start designing in January and believe me there are some gorgeous images coming up but in the meantime I am doing for some inspiration for a challenge that is running this month including the baking challenge you can grab the gorgeous Destiny Bakes image set from the website - color her up and add your finished image to the Facebook challenge page.

Destiny is gorgeous and she comes with all sorts of extras to help you create a baking scene with her as well as some great sentiments.

I have used just her image and one of the sentiments. She is colored with my Spectrum Noir markers and I have fussy cut her by hand - I would have used my Cameo but that was busy cutting the card! I then re-sized the sentiment, printed it and matted it onto red card.
The card itself is a cutting file from the Silhouette store, I cut the base using Kraft card, the layers of the mixer in white and finally the dotty design paper. I then used mirror card to cut the bowl and trims of the mixer - I would love a dotty mixer like this one! Once constructed I added Destiny. I had planned to put the sentiment on the top part of the mixer but found it looked best on the bowl.

The challenge closes on the 31st December so you still have plenty of time to enter just add a photo of your image to the Faery Ink Baking Challenge album  and Good Luck!!!

As well as the Faery Ink challenge I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything Goes
PdE Linky Party - Anything Goes
Simply Papercraft Challenges - Anything Goes
Crafting With an Attitude - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes

Have a flipping Great Christmas

Good afternoon! As Christmas draws ever nearer I am finally getting on top of all the jobs I have to do!
Today I'm showcasing my last Christmas card for Jiggery Makery, Percy and Lily are back and once again they are smooching

Percy is getting a real smacker from Lily just look at him blush!!!!

I have colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers and added glitter to their hats and liquid pearls to Lily's necklace.
They have then been mounted onto red card before being matted onto some holly design paper from my stash. This again has been matted onto red card.
I have typed the sentiment on my PC and again matted this with the red card.

Don't you think they are so cute!

You can find the image - The Kiss over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy shop along with other Percy and Lily images

Ode to My Brother

Wednesday was my big brother's birthday. He lives in the UK and I do miss him especially on birthday's and other holiday times.
But its a great time to show him how much I love him and sending him some love in the snail mail. As i can never gauge how long it will take for cards to get back to the UK I've allowed a couple of extra days before blogging about his cards - didn't want him to see them before he received them.

OK let me tell you a bit about him....

He is a LITTLE older than me, is married with some great kids and now grandkids, he's an avid family man and always puts his family first.

Since we left the UK Stephen has become an avid cyclist, and uses this to help people learn to ride and gain experience through a charity called Street Bikes,  who are a non-profit agency they have a bicycle lending library - loaning bikes to people not fortunate enough to own their own and provide training on how to look after your bike or fixing it for you. They also have mix ability cycling rides.

Stephen generously shares his free time with Street bikes and posts on his Facebook page are often of him helping out on the rides or mechanic days in his sexy cycling gear.

As he's getting on a bit (ha ha) I couldn't resist using La Pashe art work for his cards the first one is from a sheet called Grease Lightening

Here he is cycling up a 1:10 hill whilst his passenger takes a rest!!!
The image has been decoupaged and then matted on blue cardstock. I have then chosen a stone wall design paper - a lot of the countryside in Yorkshire, where we are from, has dry stone walling and this paper was perfect for that. Again I have matted this onto blue card before placing my image and sentiment on the card.

When we were growing up Stephen was (and still is) a grease monkey he always had his head under the bonnet of a car or was in the yard dismantling parts of cars so nothing could be more perfect for him for his card from our kids than this decoupage picture also from La Pashe

Just like him butt hanging out of his jeans and covered in oil!!!
Again it is decoupaged and matted onto green card before adhering it the card blank - I'm not sure there should be so much oil on the floor!!!!

So I hope you had a great Birthday Bruv! and here's to many more
I love you and miss you

Garden Dwellers - pretty dragonfly

Hi it's lunch time on a Thursday and that can only mean one thing - Ok 2 one I'm hungry and need to feed myself but the main thing is it's New release day over at Julia Spiri!!
Wow she has some gorgeous characters for you today -The Garden Dwellers -you can find all of the out in the yard!!!
As we live near a lake we get lots of dragonflies buzzing around our yard so guess who I have colored up!

OK I know the female dragonfly hasn't got the pretty colors that the male has but hey this is fantasy land!!!

I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir makers and Derwent Metallic pencils to give her the shine you see on them as they buzz around the yard.

I have then added Clear Wink of Stella to her wings for a bit of extra sparkle!

I used a blue pearl card blank which I matted with an iridescent mirror card overlayed with a sheet of acetate which has been glitter embossed with butterflies and leaves.

I used a flower corner punch on my image and matted this onto the same pearl card I made the blank from. and angled this on my card.

Some blue sheer ribbon and a dragonfly charm just finished the cute look I was trying to achieve.

Dragonfly and her friends are available now over at Julia's Etsy Store along with all of Julia's fab designs so why not add them to your collection and join our challenge with them.

Missy and her Mistletoe

Good Morning! Christmas is drawing near and we are far from ready but then where would be the excitement of the rush if everything was planned months ahead!
I'm showcasing Jiggery Makery's Missy digistamp today and she is a cutie!

Although she is in a Mrs. Claus outfit I thought I'd use green instead of the traditional red. I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and glittered the edges of her dress and hat. She was then mounted her on red card stock. I have then used a digital design paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles for my background again matted on red card.

I have used a Crafter's Companion Sentiment stamp which fitted perfectly with Missy!
The ivy and skittles embellishments just complete the simple look!

You can find Missy over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy shop

Santa Claus is coming to town

Good evening everyone - well it feels strange only having one post on the first of the month but hopefully this will change very soon - watch this space!!!
In the meantime I can dedicate all my time to the new challenge over at The 12 months of Christmas Link Up.
The optional theme this month is Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Santa will soon be here.  Are you ready for him yet?  To ensure you are not on the naughty list you should probably get all those last minute Christmas cards created and sent out.  Since you have to make them anyway, why not create one according to our optional theme this month for your chance to win yourself some extra presents this Christmas.
In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, we want to see a Santa image somewhere on your card. Now we are looking to see the big old jolly guy himself, no Santa substitutes please.   If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of 3 digital images from Rick St. Dennis.

Remember if you don't want to follow the theme Decosse's Dynamite Doodles also offer a prize One free digital paper to everyone who links up a minimum of two cards to the challenge.  Cards can be anything goes for this prize, they only have to follow the theme if they want a chance at the sponsor's prize.  The mini set of six digital papers called Santa Claus is Coming to Town, will also be offered up as a prize to one random winner.

So onto my make I have chosen to use Isabella last minute gifts digi-stamp:

Yes Santa Claus has made an appearance on my card - Isabella is clutching him tight in her arms!

I didn't want to go with traditional Christmas colors so chose purple as the main color of my design. I have colored her using my Spectrum Noir Markers and added glitter to her boot tops and the fur trim on Santa's outfit.

She has then been matted onto purple mirror card and then I have used a digital design paper from the Snowfest collection at Decosse's Dynamite Designs. Again this has been matted onto purple mirror card before being positioned on my white card blank.

I have used a sentiment stamp from Crafter's Companion and placed some skittles as embellishments

Thank you for stopping by and now come over to the 12 Month's of Christmas Link up and enter your Christmas makes!!!

Penguin Love

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am busy today preparing dinner for my family and our new neighbors.

That doesn't mean I can't find time to craft. It's my showcase day over at Jiggery Makery and I have been coloring up 2 adorable kissing penguins

Meet Percy and Lily:

Aren't they just the cutest??

I have colored them using my Spectrum Noir Markers then added glitter to the fur trim on their hats and liquid pearls to Lily's necklace. As it's Christmas I also used a fine liner to make Percy's scarf plaid.

I printed the sentiment using my PC. A little Merry Christmas ribbon and a few pearls colored the match finished the image.
I then matted this onto green card before adding to my white card blank.

A super cute card.

You can find the image - The Kiss over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy shop along with other Percy and Lily images

Cracking Christmas

This is my last design team post for So Suzy Stamps and I thought I'd go out with a bang!!!

Well I would if the Christmas Cracker I have made was real!!! For those of you that don't know Crackers are a Christmas table decoration that you pull with another person - they have a strip inside that make a bang. They usually contain a little treat, a party hat and a joke.

As the Holiday season is almost upon us and here is Michigan it is starting to look like Christmas - yes the snow is back - I'd thought I would bow out with a Christmas card

I made this Cracker card using a cutting file for my Silhouette Cameo I then decorated it with silver edging stickers and the So Suzy Snow Flake Trio stamp embossed with wow powders.

As you can see the cracker has already been pulled and the treat inside is......

The Vintage Stocking image. I have colored this using my Spectrum Aqua pens before mounting it onto silver mirror card and adhering it to the center of the open cracker.

Inside the card I added my sentiment

Another fab Suzy stamp....... Stockings were hung again matted with silver mirror.

Well that's all from me here at So Suzy - I hope I have given you a little inspiration with my designs during my time on the team - Thank you for taking the time to read all my posts.

Thanks for stopping by and before you leave check out the challenge at So Suzy's blog and enter our challenge. If you don't have a blog - don't worry you can enter over at our Facebook group

Faery Ink GDT Application

Good afternoon - well today we have had our first proper snowfall (and I'm sure it will be the first of many) so I thought I'd stay in and work on my application for the Faery Ink Guest Design Team.
I found Faery Ink through my bestie - Amy Almeida she has been doing some fab makes with the gorgeous designs and I just had to find out who drew these stunning images so she directed me to Amanda's page on Facebook and her Store.
Amanda has so many adorable images and once I started looking through her store I realized that I did have some of her art work. This prompted me to enter my first Faery Ink Challenge using my first favorite image Vampy Cutie

I colored her up in Halloween colors for the October Challenge and submitted her on Faery Ink Facebook group as well as other challenges - I won Card of the Month with her over at the Spectrum Noir Challenge

She is my entry for my old favorite - Ok..... I know my card is not that old but then I'm new to Faery Ink - you can find details of how I made the card here on another of my blog posts

2 more of my favorite Faery Ink images are Breanna Fae who is a color for cause digi and is so adorable. Bella Bubble Fae is my other favorite and I had a gorgeous card sent to me by my bestie with her on! They have joined my collection today and I can't wait to make more cards using these beauties!!!!
I have played with making my own candles in the past and Faery Ink images will look stunning on them!

I decided for my brand new make I would use one of the newer images:

As it's nearly the holidays I thought I'd color her up in candy cane colors:

Like most of my cards she was colored with Spectrum Noir markers, although it doesn't show I added sparkle to her wings using Wink of Stella. The cute design paper is from a digital collection by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. I added the ribbon and gem from my stash. I then colored the silver candy cane using a red marker to compliment the design.

Ok as this post is my application here's the nitty gritty about me that Amanda has asked for:

These cards are the only ones I have made using Faery Ink, this is purely because I am new to the designs and this will be changing over the next few weeks!

I am currently on 4 other design teams - however my term is due to come to an end on 2 of these by the end of the year. I currently make 4 cards a month in total for the ones I will be leaving and 6 in total for the other 2. I am a stay at home mom who gets plenty of time to play in my craft room so have always managed to meet my commitments.

I love sharing my creativity and as I am leaving 2 of the teams I am on I would be open to a long term spot on the Faery Ink team. If this is not an option for me I am available any month between December 2015 and November 2016. I take my design team commitments seriously and plan ahead if I know I have a particularly busy month.

I have never personally used WordPress blogging platform. I am familiar with it as some of my design teamies on other teams use this and am always willing to learn new things!

I participate in all my design team Facebook groups as well as some fan based groups that I am a member. I love posting my makes around Facebook and do so with every card I make whether it is a design team make or just for fun. I also post from a personal point of view at least daily.
I have active accounts on

I post frequently on these.

Recently I have joined periscope but I am still plucking up the courage to do a video and use this platform.

Phew!!! I think I have covered all that was asked of me - readers wish me luck and Amanda I hope that I have given you an honest opinion of me and my creativeness!

Thank you for stopping by and I would love if you could leave me some love.

I am also entering my Candy Fairy card into the Spectrum Noir Monthly Challenge - The theme this month is Christmas /Winter

Oh! It's not Christmas yet!!!

Good afternoon, here's my 2nd post of the day and it's a Christmas card for a man!!

Jiggery Makery images are great for a bit of sexy fun and Juliet who I'm showcasing today is definitely up for a bit of fun with her cheeky smile and wink!

I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers - she needs no embellishment so I have just added a sentiment typed up on my pc and matted her on red card and gold Mirror card! A simple card but great for the man in your life!

Thanks for stopping by you can purchase Juliet over at  Jiggery Makery's Etsy store along with her other pin-up pals.

Something to be thankful for

Good morning,  I have a story behind my showcase card today - We are due to get new neighbors a single mom and her 2 daughters, they were supposed to move in last weekend however due to things outside of her control the sale of her house is taking longer than she expected and the move hasn't happened. She has packed up her belongings and is worried that she won't be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with her little girls as they are living with next to no cooking utensils or furniture.
We have great neighbors and they are always doing things to help out so I decided so pay this forward and have invited our soon to be neighbors for Thanksgiving dinner.

What better way to invite them than using So Suzy Stamps for an invitation:

I have used the Pumpkin Swirl stamp which I have colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers I added some color to the swirls to make them blend in with the image. I typed and printed the wording on my pc. I then used orange sheer ribbon across the top of the image card and rounded the corners so it would blend better with the scalloped card blank I used. I matted this onto some brown card and added some Lawn Fawn orange enamel dots. A very simple design but I think it turned out very pretty!

Naughty and Nice

Good morning, the weather has been so kind to us this week, temperatures topping out at 76 degrees in November - if you didn't see the bare trees you wouldn't believe that winter is on it's way!!!

Yes winter! but it brings Christmas with it and I've been working on another festive card using the gorgeous pin ups from Jiggery Makery

Meet Roxy

She ready and waiting to hang her star on your tree!

I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and added dimensional glistening snow writer to her fur bits

The star has been colored using a Gelly Roll pen to give it a glittery effect

I then added the sentiment which is a Crafter's Companion Sentimentals stamp.

I matted her and some snowflake design paper onto black card before fixing to my card blank.

A few black pearls just finish the card

You can purchase Roxy over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy store along with her other pin-up pals.

Sparkle Sparkle Everywhere

Good evening, 2nd post from me today and after spreading glitter everywhere - I think even Gizzie got some I can share the sparkly card I have made for the 12 month's of Christmas Design Team showcase.

Twinkling lights, garland, and tinsel oh my!  Christmas is quickly approaching and as we start to get ready for the festivities we'll be noticing that our surroundings will soon be rather bright and sparkly.  Whether it is part of the decorations that we put up or the special sparkle in the eyes of the people around us, there is a certain glimmer about.   Just like our surroundings, it is time to give our cards that same kind of glitzy look.

The sponsor this month is

 Sparkle and Sprinkle
In order to have a chance to win the prize from them, we want to see a Christmas or other holiday card that has lots of sparkle and shine on it.   Here is your chance to grab your glitter, sparkles and other forms of bling and get to it!   If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $15 gift certificate to the Sparkle N Sprinkle store

The additional prize as always is a mini set of digital papers called the Glitteratti set from

On to my card

I have used Winter Stream from the Sparkle and Sprinkle store I have colored the image using Polycromo pencils and the added an abundance of crystal glitter to all the snow! there are sparkles on top of sparkles! I then added Glossy Accents to the icicles and parts of the stream to give even more shine. I embossed some shiny pearl card with a holiday sentiment folder. I matted this onto aqua card along with my image. To finish I added yet more sparkle with 3 crystal gems to the bottom left corner.

Now come over to the 12 Month's of Christmas Link up and enter your Christmas makes!!!

Falling Leaves

Good morning, since last week the leaves around us have definitely fallen from the trees - high winds made sure of that - but then we mustn't grumble as it is 1st November and we are forecast more high 60F weather this week!!!

It's new release day over at So Suzy Stamps and she is celebrating Fall and Thanksgiving this month so get your leaves out and enter the challenge!!!

I am normally a very clean crafter  however I thought I'd mess about with a bit of ink for this card.

I embossed some white card with a swirling leaf folder. I then used Mowed Lawn, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy and Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink to color the leaves. I then matted this onto green and orange card before mounting on a white card blank.

I then stamped Suzy's fab new sentiment Fallen Leaf onto the same white card again matting this with green and orange card before placing onto my card front. Some orange enamel dots just add the finishing touches

Thanks for stopping by and before you leave check out the challenge at So Suzy's blog and enter our challenge. If you don't have a blog - don't worry you can enter over at our Facebook group

Forest Friends

Good afternoon and Happy Halloween hope the weather is treating you better than us! It's cold and rainy here so not sure of the kids will be going trick or treating. Mollie and I have had a crafty afternoon to make up for it!

She was sent some gorgeous craft sets by my BFF and she's had great fun getting messy with them

She started with painting sun catchers and is now doing some glitter art!

Whilst she was busy with that I have been adding to my Christmas cards with a stamp I've had for a while and never used!
It is perfect for a design Team Call I'm applying for over at Stamping Smiles Design Team Challenges

In order to apply I have used their Tic-Tac-Toe

Using Forest friends, Leaves and Twine

These little pals are from Crafter's Companion Mulberry Wood stamp collection. This set is called Giving. I have colored them with my Spectrum Noir makers and added glossy accents to the fairy lights in the bigger moose's antlers.

I then matted a white card blank with green card. The design paper is from Lili of the Valley's Krafty Christmas 8x8 paper pad, I wound twine around the right hand side of this before placing fixing this in place on my card.

I matted the image with the same green card and affixed this in place. The holly and berries were die cuts and I glued these and the Lili of the Valley tag over the cross of the twine.

As well as apply to Stamping Smiles Designs I am entering this card in the following challenges

52 Christmas card Throwdown - Pick a previous Theme - Fairy Lights
Allsorts Challenge - Christmas

Mollie's Enchanted Wishes

Good afternoon! We have had a wonderful weekend spent travelling up to the Upper Peninsula and going on scenic drives to see all the gorgeous fall colors. There were some stunning views including the Mackinac bridge which is the 5th longest suspension bridge in the World!!!

The fall colors are a reminder that winter is just around the corner and soon we'll have all the lovely snow back!!
Talking of snow leads me onto my latest card design. As everyone who know me is aware Mollie is a Frozen fanatic and so are lots of her friends. She has become a pen friend with a gorgeous little girl who she went to nursery with back in England so I decided I would make her a card to send instead of a letter.

What better stamps to use than Craftin Desert Diva's Enchanted Wishes collection.

These adorable little characters were a delight to color with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I also added crystal glitter to Elsa's dress although it doesn't show too well on the camera image.

I did color up the whole cast:

but then decided there were too many for the card so the guys will be used on another make - aren't they all just adorable!!!

Once colored I fussy cut them out and shaped them so that they wouldn't be flat on the card. I chose a snowflake patterned paper, some mirror card which has an iridescent finish and some blue card to mat onto my card blank.
I used the same mirror card to die cut the snowflakes and fixed blue sparkly gems in the center of each of these.
I used Collal glue gel to adhere my characters to the card this helps maintain the shaping of them - especially as this card is going to be in the hands of international postal services!
Once everything was placed on the card I positioned the sentiment stamp which is from the same stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by xx

Snow Fairy

Good afternoon! Well after the snow at the weekend we are back up to warm temperatures again!

There is a new release over at Julia Spiri Digital Stamps as always the stamps are gorgeous. They are called The Winter Collection

I have loved coloring up the adorable Snow Fairy and had the perfect papers to go with her.

I have photographed her in the sunshine to try and capture the sparkle on her!
I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir Markers then added crystal glitter to the edges of her coat, dress and headband. I have then used chameleon glitter on all the snowflakes and Wink of Stella on her wings.
I found some gorgeous aqua mirror card in my stash so used this and the gorgeous Lili of the Valley paper to mat my card. I used more of the mirror card to mat the image and my sentiment onto. The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley.
I colored some white snowflake buttons to match in with the color scheme and added this around little Miss Snow.

Witching Hour Tess

Good morning! It's less than a week to Halloween, I've bought the candy, Mollie wants to dress as a rainbow fairy and it looks as though we won't have snow this year!

I posted the delightful Tess from  Jiggery Makery last week and I'm back with her again - This time as a more traditional witch.

I have colored her in with my Spectrum Noir Markers and digitally added bats flying along with her. I then color tinted the edges of the card with distress ink and mounted her onto orange paper. I used a white card blank and added some Authentique Halloween design paper.

After fixing my image to the card I added some orange hotfix gems to match in with her flame colored hair!

You can buy Tess over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy store along with her other pin-up pals.

Snowflakes

Good afternoon, well it's coming to the end of a fab week and we are forecast our first frost tonight brrr!

I am sharing a cute little Christmas card with you today

This was so easy to make and looks so effective. I started with a 6x8in piece of snow white centura pearl card. I scored this at 4inches and folded in half. I then cut 3.5 inches from the front.
The die is a snowflake edge'ables by Crafter's Companion. I opened up what was left of my card and laid the die along the score line and cut and embossed it. Once eased out of the die it gives the effect as in the photo.

I then cut some snow flecked acetate and cut to 6x4 inches gluing this inside the top edge of the front of the card. I then cut a strip of the centura card and glued this to the bottom edge of the acetate.
I used the fabulous stamps Snowflake Trio and Winter Butterflies from So Suzy Stamps  and stamped them onto the acetate using stayzon ink.

Tess and her broomstick!!

Good afternoon! The sun is shining and the leaves are turning gorgeous fall colors. I love this time of year it's just too bad that it symbolizes the cold weather will be here soon!

I'm over at Jiggery Makery today flying by with the gorgeous Tess!

She is too stunning to be your usual witch so I decided not to use her for a Halloween card. I have colored her using my Spectrum Noir Markers and mounted the image onto black card. I then made an easel card and matted this with black card and purple patterned paper. The image was then fixed to the easel part of the card.

The sentiment is one I have seen around quite a bit and felt it fitting! If you can't read it from the photo is says:

All Women are angels
And when someone breaks our wings
We just continue to fly on a broom stick
We are flexible like that

I typed it up on my Pc and printed it out, matted it onto black card and adhered it to the base of the card using foam pads so it acts as the stopper for the easel.
A few black enamel dots just add the finishing touches.

You can buy the image over at Jiggery Makery's Etsy store along with her other pin-up pals.
