Mermaids home

Good afternoon, it's a lazy Saturday for me not going much planned, it's the last weekend before school starts so making sure everything is ready for 7am on Monday

It's also the last weekend of the month so time for an exciting new release from Scrapper's Delights. We are carrying on with the under the sea theme from last month and there are some great props for you to add to your mermaids and fish themes.

I have used Sea Rock 1 - I chose to use the png file so I could add Pearl Mermaid 2 peeking out from the middle of the rock

I colored the image using alcohol markers then went over the top of all of it with an aqua colored marker to make it look as though it was all under water.
As I had used a deep red for the coral I chose the same to use as my matting card.
I made a 6x6 inch card blank, matted this with the same red card and some digital design paper that looks like water. I recolored a piece of this to tine in with the image and matted this onto the same red card to contrast under my image.
A bubble die cut and some clear dimension drops just finished off the design.

Water water everywhere!

Hello, things have been a bit crazy this month so not many posts but kids back at school next week so hopefully I can get back on track

Over at Craftin Desert Divas Digital stamp team they are having a water coloring challenge this month and if you participate you get a code for a free digi of your choice from the huge selection in the store.

I'm not a confident water colorist but I do give it a try. So here's my showcase for the challenge

I have used Bubble Time which is a cute little mouse having a bubble bath - better watch out that it doesn't over-flow!

I started by water coloring card for the background with a mix of pink and purple. Then I printed the image once the paper was dry. I the colored this with my Zig clean color pens blending them with water.
I added dimension to the bubbles as well as a few extra with clear Nuvo Drops.

I chose a bright and flowery design paper which I felt went really well with the image colors and matted this and the image with a bright green card.
I few die cut bubbles tucked behind the image just carried the image theme through the design.

You can enter the challenge by placing your make into the photo album on the Craftin Desert Diva's Facebook page. Whilst you are there why not check out all the fun and inspiration that is happening over there.
We also have a blog, Instagram page and Pinterest page for more inspiration

Jack-O_lantern time!

Good afternoon, we sure need a storm here to freshen the air, the humidity is unbearable They were forecast but I think it has skipped around us.

We have discovered who Mollie's 2nd grade teacher is going to be this week and are really pleased with the choice she has been given. Going back to school means only one thing - Fall is around the corner and with Fall along comes Halloween and have I got a cutie to share with you today

Faery Ink new release this month includes some super cute images and I couldn't resist showcasing this stunner:

Meet  Fable Jack-O-Lantern to color. She is super sweet with her wand and her pumpkin

I of course, had to color her in Halloween colors and chose black, orange, green and purple alcohol markers as my main colors.
Pumpkin Witch

Once she was colored I designed my card keeping with the same theme and color scheme. I stamped a black cat at her feet and added  the die cuts and sentiment because they just fit perfectly with my image. I matted my design with orange and black card makes the image pop and added a few enamel dots to balance the design.
I hope that this has given you some ideas of what you can do with this beauty. She is available for purchase over at Faery Ink along with lots of other gorgeous digital stamps

post-it down on Mushroom Lane

Good morning, the mornings are starting to get darker here despite the temperatures still soaring in the 90's

I have something new to share today, last month I found out I had made the Riley and Company design team and was sent some amazing stamps to work with. As of the 1st of August they released a new stamp collection called Mushroom Lane. These are adorable little mushroom houses and buildings and of course I couldn't wait to grab my markers and get coloring.

Isn't the Polkadot House just the cutest??? The rest of the collection include a church, library, school house, post office, fire station and other dwellings there is even a pool. If you are into adult coloring they are also available in coloring books:

Each month we are challenged to do a project as well as cards after racking my brains and coming up blank a friend suggested I make a post-it note holder. I thought it a great idea and used a tutorial from StampArtic which you can fine here

This shows that the stamps are not just for card making and you can use them in all aspects of your crafting

Riley & Company are of course known for the little moose called Riley and his pals of which some others have been released this month so watch my blog for these.
Of course Funny Bones are part of the collection and I have some great sentiments coming your your way!

There is also a Riley & Company blog where you can find all the details about the new release and see other inspiration made by my teamies so why not go check it out!
