Dressing Up Gnomes

Good evening! it's been a cold few days here, makes you want to snuggle up on the couch all day!

Today's post is using some digital stamps I've had a couple of months and not been able to get round to using them. So today I printed them and enjoyed myself coloring them. They are cute freebies from TLC Designs.

The first one I thought was so funny! given the USA's current situation with voting I thought, forget the Republicans and Democrats and vote Gnome!

Isn't he just the great! He is from TLC designs and is called Gnorman. He some with a bunch of sentiments including the ones I have used and as well as election time would be great for Independence Day. I resized him, arranged his sentiments, printed him and colored with Copic markers trying to emulated the colors of the Statue of Liberty. He was matted with a coordinating card stock and placed on an A& card base.

My next card is a Halloween card for a little girl Mollie is going to spend Halloween with using Jack O'Gnome:

Another great image! I just love the mass of curls for his beard! This image comes with all sorts of extras including papers one of which I have used. I printed and colored him again with Copic markers I then fussy cut him. I matted an A2 card base with the leafy paper and added Jack to it. I couldn't make one of the sets sentiments fit my card since the pumpkin was so round so I used a Spellbinders die to make my Eek and boO!

I loved coloring these guys, but gnomes are always fun to play with!

Thanks for stopping by and if you love what you see please leave me some love in the comments.

Give Thanks with Flowers

Good Morning, We've had sleet over the last 2 days - it's way too early for winter!!!

I am posting inspiration for Joy Clair today. The stamp set of choice for this card is You Are. An amazing huge bloom that looks stunning in any color but I chose to color it with purple alcohol markers.

I decided to do a very simple card. I used a grey A2 card base and matted this with a stenciled panel. I placed my flower using foam tape to give dimension. Finally I stamped the Give Thanks sentiment from the set Give Thanks

This image is so versatile, it can be used for many different occasions.

Thank you for stopping by. I will be back during the month with more inspiration from Joy Clair. Also my teamies will be sharing with you over on the Joy Clair Facebook Group.

Helping Hands

Good morning, It's very cold here, barely hitting freezing!

But It's Tuesday and that means fun with the new Digi Choosday Challenge starting!

My card today Is all about snow! I have used Winnie Christmas Wishes Helping Hands - Winnie and all the little critters are clearing the snow:

Super cute or what??? I decided to use the pre-colored image and printed it out onto stamping card. I then cut the image and an outline using my cameo.
I matted my card base with red cardstock, I pulled one of the digital papers from Winnie White Christmas papers 2 into my graphics program and then added a sentiment multiple times to this, printed it and matted my card. I also printed a 2nd paper from same set and made rosettes to look like giant snowflakes.
I added my image using foam tape and then adhered my snowflakes in place.

Fall treats

Good afternoon! hope everyone is enjoying fall, I have had time to get out and do some walking amongst the fall colors, Michigan is beautiful this time of year.

Talking of Fall, It's new release day at Stamper's Delights for the super cute Kawaii images and the fall images are adorable:

What I Did:

This is actually 2 images that I have, resized,  grouped together and shuffled some leaves around which demonstrates how versatile digital stamps are.

Once I had them where I wanted them I colored with alcohol markers - I had to add lots of freckles to my little redhead. The image was fussy cut ready for my card.
I matted an A7 card base with green cardstock. I made my own digital design paper, I took an orange striped paper, reduced the opacity and added all the script fall words. I then printed and cut down to fit on my base.
I added my image and die cut leaves from foil paper. These where scattered to make it look like they were being blown around.

I couldn't resist using one of the other Kawaii new releases to make a little note card:

This little guy is Just a note, I resized him and one of sentiments printed and colored with alcohol markers. I joined the pen to the sentiment then off the page to.......

The second sentiment inside! Both were matted with blue cardstock and added to an A7 card base.

Sweet Halloween - Cupcakes and Candy

Good morning and welcome to October! I'm still in Halloween mode with my designs and today is a super cute one.

Joy Clair released Sweet Halloween last month and just had to create with it:

What I Did:

The little characters around the edge are in a group of 4 so I resized them doubled them up for the top and bottom and separated them out for left and right sides of my card. I added the cupcakes and changed the color of the sentiment before printing onto stamping card.
I was going to color the border characters all as ghosts but decided to be a little more creative and made them in to monsters and candy corn (as well as ghosts). I finished the image by coloring the cupcakes in the same color scheme.
I matted a grey A7 card base with purple cardstock and added my images. Finally I dotted a few purple glitter enamel drops around the image to tie in the purple mat.

What I Used:

Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Grey Card For Base: Simon Says Stamp
Purple Card: Core'Dinations Premium
Enamel Dots: Gina Marie Designs

Joy Clair has a fantastic Holiday new release for this month, head on over to their store for more!

Altenew Educators Certification Program - Let It Shine!

Good afternoon. It's been a rainy day here today so perfect time to spend time in the craft room.

I haven't done any of my Altenew Educator's Certification Program classes for a while, school and design teams have kept me busy so today I have concentrated my next class which is Let It Shine!

I have made 3 cards for this, my first uses glitter which I have to say is not one of my favorite mediums but I worked outside of my comfort zone and used loose glitter instead of glitter cardstock:

I started with a black A2 card base, I placed double sided tape in strips along the top and right hand side. I then liberally sprinkled glitter over it. I burnished this with my finger and tapped off the excess. This left the glitter on just the tape.
I then stamped Crown Bloom stamp and leaves using Altenew inks. As I don't yet have the dies for this set I used my Scan N Cut to fussy cut them and arranged on my card. I added a blossom stamp, which is part of Crown Bloom, colored yellow just to break up the red. Finally I die cut a sentiment, dipped it in wet glue and then glitter, once this was dry I arranged on my card.

My next card uses the Ranunculus stamp set and a cool technique:

I stamped the flower and leaf onto matt gold cardstock using embossing ink. I then used clear embossing powder and heat set. It give a cool engraved effect. I matted an A2 black card base with matt silver cardstock and arranged my leaf and bloom. Finally I stamped the sentiment with obsidian ink, added clear embossing powder and heat set it. A few golden pearls just balanced the desgn.

My Final card also uses embossing powder:

Using the Spring Daisy stamp set I stamped the outline of the flowers and leaves with embossing ink, added silver embossing powder and heat set it. This gave me a shiny image. I then stamped with colored ink, giving me complete flowers with shiny outlines. I fussy cut these ready for my design.
I matted a slimline card base with 2 different shades of purple card stock arranged my leaves and flowers both flat and raised with foam tape. I then die cut a sentiment from matt cardstock and added a few clear enamel dots for added shine.

Shopping List:

Altenew Inks: Frosty Pink, Coral BerryJet BlackRuby Red, GrapevineFrayed LeafForest Glade,                            AmethystPale MauveGrape Agate, Mango Smoothie

Other Inks: Versamark, Versafine, Copic Markers.
Embossing Powders: Clear, Sliver
Red Glitter
Cardstock: Black, Silver, Gold, Pale Lilac, Deep Purple
Gems, Clear Enamel, Gold Pearls
Glue and Tape, Double Sided, Foam Tape and wet Glue

I am continuing to learn so many new techniques doing the Altenew Educator Certificate Course, and yes they can be applied to all my card making not just Altenew!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope if you like what you see you will let me know in the comments section.

Sending Christmas Cheer

Good Morning! Almost half way through October - How did that happen. I'm skipping the next few days as I turn 50 and that is just not happening!!!

It's Tuesday so of course that only means one thing - Digi Choosday! yes a new challenge is about to start!

This time the design team are looking forward to Christmas and sending a little cheer with an envelope on their makes. I decided to do a card on a card using the super Cute Holly Hedgehog mail:

What I Did:
I arranged Holly and a sentiment and printed on stamping card. I colored the image with Alcohol markers and added a bit of sparkle with glitter to Holly's hat. I then printed a piece of digital design paper, using a template I made an envelope with this.
A 8x8in card base was matted with green and red cardstock and my envelope was added to the center. I then partially slid my image into this at an angle so Holly and the sentiment are still on view.
Finally I added some glittery enamel dots.

What I Used:
Paper for Envelope: Crafter's Companion
White Card Base: Craft UK
Green and Red Cardstock: Core'Dinations Premium
Glitter Enamel Dots: Gina Marie
Glitter: Chloe
Glue: ZipDry

Holidays are coming to Joy Clair!

Good Morning! I am loving the weather at the moment, lots of sunshine but not too warm. Great for getting outside and walking.

Welcome to the first day of Joy Clair's new release, we have lots to show you and the release is going to be running all week.

During October we are also collaborating with Rinea so you will see their gorgeous foiled papers on my designs.

I'm showcasing 2 cards today, my first one uses Barrels - It is a great fall collection with of course a barrel but lots of fillings for the barrel to choose from and great sentiments:

I arranged my composition onto stamping card, resized and then printed it. I then printed the barrels onto 2 different colors of Rinea foil paper; a dark brown and a copper color
For the dark foil barrels I cut the whole barrel out,  The copper images I just cut the bands and Using the image on stamping card I placed the bands on the barrels and then adhered them into place.
I then colored the contents of barrels with alcohol markers. I matted a black A7 card base with orange cardstock and my image.

My next card uses Coffee Flavors and again I have used Rinea foils.

I started by rearranging one of the sentiments which is the great thing about digital stamps you can cut and paste how ever you want them! I then resized one of the gorgeous cups and added my sentiment to it. This was then printed on stamping card and fussy cut using my scan n cut. I also cut a mat for my cup to lie on. I colored the image with alcohol markers and adhered it to it's mat.
I then used a coffee bean die and cut a ton of beans from the Rinea foil paper. I love how it has given them a sheen!
A A2 card base was matted with same cardstock as my image and I arranged the image on my base. I then glued each individual coffee bean in place so it looks as though it's snowing coffee beans - It is a Holiday image after all!!!!

What I Used:
Digital Images: Joy Clair - Barrels
                          Joy Clair - Coffee Flavors
Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Black Card for A7 base: Linda Chapman
