Oops a Daisy!

Good Morning! hope you are enjoying the start to the holiday weekend.

Today is also  the start of a new mood board challenge over at SumMore Fun and the theme continues to be spring like. you can find more details at the end of my post!

My design is using the Oops A Daisy stamp set :

I stamped the large flower with embossing ink and used clear embossing powder. I then masked this off and stamped the 2 stemmed flowers over the large daisy and one overlapping the top corner. Again I embossed them with clear powder. I colored them using brush markers using the colors from the mood board.
Once I'd removed the ink from the embossed lines I used the Oops a daisy text stamp from the same set and stamped this multiple times in the spaces between the flowers. I then used a pale blue embossing powder on these.
My card base was matted with coordinating blue card before I adhered my image topper to it.
I then added pink enamel dots randomly around the design to complete it.

Tractor TLC

Good afternoon. I'm taking a break from preparing our house for guests next week. My college friend that I haven't seen for more than 10 years is coming from England for the week.
I am SOOOO EXCITED!!!!

But  lets get grounded, I need to share with you all this card I made for a colleague of my husband. The instructions were 'he likes doing up old tractors'

So I had a digital stamp of a John Deere Tractor and just needed to 'rust' it up a bit:

I used colored pencils to color it, this was my first attempt and using the pencils for a full image and realize there is a learning curve with them!

Once colored I matted the image onto black and green card.

I used a grass patterned paper on my card base along with mats of green and black like my image.

I angled the image on the card and added a die cut Happy Birthday which was 2 cuts one black one green and placed on top of one another to give a shadow.
A few black card candi finished the design.

I just hope the recipient doesn't pledge allegiance to the International!

Thanks for stopping by and if you like what you see please leave me a comment - it will make my day!

Motorbiking

Good morning! Life is good at moment, sun is shining and my craft room is finally getting some organization thanks to Evernote - Wow this program is great for cataloging all my stamps, dies and more!

I made today's card as part of my husband's birthday club at work, it's turning in to a challenge for me making so many masculine cards:

This one was for a guy who love's his Harley. I chose a greyscale image and edited it with My Craft Studio so that the sentiment was in the same shade as the bike.
I matted an 8x8 inch card base with black and grey card. I then embossed some brushed silver mirror card to look like metal walk way. This and my image was matted in black card and adhered to my base so they overlapped.
A few black Card Candi just balanced the card.

Thank you for stopping by and if you like what you see I would love to know, please leave a comment 😊

Up Up and Away

Good morning on this gorgeous spring day.

Today I am over on the SumMore Fun blog using a Raisin Boat set of stamps called Spring Is In The Air:

The cute hot air balloon was colored with alcohol to match this month's challenge mood board colors and both that and the adorable tiny bunny fussy cut. I used some cloudy sky patterned papers and die cut a penny slider 'flight path'. The same paper was placed underneath and I made a penny slider with the hot air balloon. You can see it in action here:

I stamped one of the many sentiments from the Spring is in the Air stamp set in the bottom corner and added another bunny face.
Once the mechanism was working I matted this onto blue card and my white card base. I added a few enamel dots to balance the design.

this is just another way that you can use our mood board for the challenge and be in with a chance of winning a gift certificate to our store:

Hello Spring

Good morning, we have had a number of signs that spring is here but the snow keeps making an appearance too so I'm hoping that if I keep with the spring theme in my craft room it will take the hint and disappear!

It's the first day of a new mood board challenge over at SumMore Fun and with Easter just around the corner out come the bunnies:

These adorable bunny butts and grasses are from the Spring is in the air stamp set I stamped 6 of them and cut them out on my Scan N Cut. I die cut a number of clouds onto masking paper and positioned these on my white stamping card. I then blended the card with blue and green ink. On removing the cloud masks I added a little more blue ink so the clouds weren't so stark white. Using the same green ink I stamped the grass from the same set along the bottom of the card overlapping and at different heights so it looked more natural. I then did the same with a darker green ink. I then adhered 4 of my bunny butts in place and stamped more of the grass over these giving the appearance of them hiding in the grass.
The remaining 2 bunnies were placed on action wobblers  and placed in between the others so when touched they wobble!

My card was then made up of a white card base, a green mat and my design. I stamped Hello Spring a sentiment again from the Spring is in the air stamp set.

Dotty for Birthdays

Good morning, this year seems to be playing by it's hard to believe that we are already well into March

My card is using stamps from SumMore fun and is great for seeing dots:

I have used the Dots Stamp Set. Starting with the Happy Birthday ribbon I stamped this down the side of white card. I then stamped the bright pink dots. Masking some of these off I added a few purple ones and last but not least I added my pale pink ones again masking some off so it looks as though they are overlapping.

As I stamped each color I added a word dot.

I matted a white card base with coordinating purple card before adding my stamping card.
I then added enamel dots in matching colors.

This set has so many stamps there is also a coordinating sentiment as well as more dots and a dotty tag!

Did you all see our new mood board challenge? You still have plenty of time to join us with some St. Paddy's fun:

Just take a look at the challenge blog post for details, I'm sure you would love to be in with a chance of winning a gift certificate to spend in our online store!

Welcome Baby

Good morning! another week is starting and this year is flying by.
I'm sure that a colleague of my husband is looking forward to what this year brings. She is due to have a baby girl in the next month and I have made this cute card to go with the gift we have bought for her:

Isn't this elephant just the cutest? She is from Lili of the Valley and is called Blowing Bubbles , she is available as a digital and rubber stamp.
I used the digital so I could resize her for my project. I colored the image with alcohol markers adding colored pencil to darken my shading.
Once colored I die cut the image using Gina Marie's Oval Scalloped Frame dies. These cut the image and a frame around it. I the colored the white section of the frame blue so it would stand out against my patterned background paper.
The paper is from a collection which was also sold by Lili of the Valley but is no longer available. I added the pink It's a girl ribbon from my stash and a couple of stamped baby tags again from Lili of the Valley.

Thanks for stopping by and if you like what you see it's always nice to know by leaving me a comment.

Are you ready for the St Paddy's Day Challenge?

Good Morning, well the weather here is slowly improving. I spotted my first Robin of the year this week which is a sure sign that spring is on it's way!

March is full of crafting opportunities with Spring bringing lots of new life and celebrations. SumMore Fun's challenge this time is a good crafting theme. The Mood board is all about St Patrick's Day with lots of  green gold and shamrocks!

If you don't own any St Patrick's Day stamps I am going to show you how you can still enter using last months holiday stamps - hearts:

On a square of white I used SumMore Fun's I love you Heart and stamped in green ink 3 times. I then used their Medium Sketched Heart and stamped this in the center of my previous hearts making them into leaves. Using a marker I joined the leaves in the center and added a stem to my shamrock.
A couple of die cut shamrocks and a few green pearls just complimented my stamped image. My white card base was matted with green before adding my image.

The Challenge runs for the next 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to enter all you have to do is follow our mood board:

As I have just shown you it is easy to turn something into what it's not just so you can join in.
