Go Wild!!

Good morning, hope you've all had a great holiday weekend
I'm going a little wild today with SumMore Fun - well I would be if the raccoons hadn't over eaten:

The cheeky chappies have raided a bin and are now in a food coma!!
I used the Raccoons stamp and colored them with alcohol markers on white card stock. I then matted a white card base with kraft card and some spotted design paper. I used the 'go wild' and 'Happy Birthday' sentiments from the Happy Camper stamp set around my image and then matted it with kraft card before placing it at an angle on my card. I added a few enamel dots just to balance the design.
Here's a closer look at the trash bandits:

Aren't they just adorable?

Tic Tac Toe

Good morning! Memorial weekend looks as though it's going to be a hot one. We have nothing planned but a bit of yard work and enjoying the sunshine.

It's Friday which means that the new moodboard challenge over at SumMore Fun starts today and it's a great one for all you vintage lovers.
You can see the moodboard lower in the post but for now check out my interpretation of it:

I used the colors from the moodboard and the Raisin Boat Strokes of Pride stamp set  to make a tic-tac-toe square filling it with the letters from the U.S.A. stamp also in the set. It did take me a few attempts to get the letters stamped as I had to make sure I had only inked the required letter.

I matted a dark blue card with teal card. I then stamped the stripes from the stamp set into a grid on kraft card stock ensuring the squares were even. I then stamped the eagle in green, following the moodboard colors and added the letters in dark red. The kraft card was then adhered to my card base.
A simple card that did cause me some frustrations to make!

One for the boys

Good Morning, colder weather hit us again over the weekend - just when we had planted out some baby plants!
Today I have taken over the SumMore Fun Blog with a card for the boys. I killed 2 birds with one stone with this one, it was James's birthday on the 7th so my card was used for him.
I have used 2 stamp sets on this card the first being Welcome To The Cabin:

The set is all about hunting and fishing so I chose some of the wording and added fishes and fishing rod (from the same stamp set) onto a piece of white card I had lightly inked with green and brown ink. This was then added to my card base which had first been matted with dark green card.

Putting this to one side I then used my second stamp which is Chicken Wire This is a large stamp that is just what the item says it is chicken wire, here is a close up:

I stamped this onto acetate and using foam tape I placed this over my first stamping. My original idea was to make this a shaker card using some of the stamped fish from the first stamp set I used but they wouldn't lay right and 'shake' under the acetate. So instead I die cut a frame using some real tree design paper and added this over my images.

As this was for my son I die cut the letters and added son to the side of the card.

Don't forget our new moodboard challenge started last Friday to join in and get the chance to win a gift certificate to SumMore Fun head on over to the SumMore Fun challenge post.  Oh and the prize doubles if you use stamps from from the store!

Patriotic With Courage

Good morning! Life is kind of getting in the way at the moment but I'm here today with another great mood board challenge from SumMore Fun.

We are going all patriotic with this one, however as you can just use the colors for your challenge entry there are so many other ways to join in.

My card today is using the great Strokes of Pride Stamp Set.

This is a great word based set giving plenty of opportunity to make patriotic cards or scrapbook pages.

I used a 6x6 inch card base and matted this with blue and red card. I then die cut an American flag placing this in the bottom left corner of my card.
I positioned the word stamps around this so that they made sense and stamped them with versa-fine ink so I got a good dark crisp image.
I used blue Pearl Pen to make 3 enamel effect dots at the top of my card to balance the design.

Now how about joining our challenge and getting the chance to win a gift certificate to SumMore Fun? Oh and the prize doubles if you use stamps from from the store!

A Very Daisy Thank You

Good morning! from a warm sunny Michigan - yes at last the weather is turning and we are enjoying spring.

Today's card is using a technique that has been around for a while now but this is my first attempt at it. Stamping my background using SumMore Fun's Oops a Daisy stamp set  I made an eclipse card:

I stamped one of the daisies multiple times in different orientations then colored them with alcohol markers. I then stamped the tiny swirl which is a stamp from the Curly Cute stamp set.

I then took my alpha dies and cut the words THANK YOU across the images.

I matted a white card base with yellow card and added the negative part of my stamped background.
Using pop dots I replaced the letters letting the yellow card show through.

I then replaced the center of the O and A lining it up with the images. A simple card to make but I love the effect.
