Playing with my Ebosser

My Hubby bought me an Ebosser back in October for my birthday, I have had a few plays with it but everytime I plug it in my 3 yr old daughter takes over and I don't get to do anything productive with it!
I had to do some cards for my mother-in-law so waited until said 3 yr old was in bed and sneaked the machine out and here is the result:

The pearl card was embossed using a Darice folder from Crafters Companion and the poinasettas and swirl are Marianne Dies.
The ribbon is from Lili of the Valley, although that and the matting looks a bit wobbly on the photo it was straight. I matted and layered using cardstock from my stash
It's a very plain and simple card but has just enough detail - or so I think and not a colouring pen in sight!

Spectrum Noir Accreditation

I got fab news last night - I completed the Spectrum Noir colouring accreditation program whilst on holiday in Scotland last week. I submitted my work on Sunday and received an email from Jennie last night to say I had passed!!!
This has given me the incentive to do more colouring and what better to colour than one of Crafter's Companion's lovely Mulberry Wood characters.

I adore this lovely little pup, he looks so forlorn...
I stamped him onto Neenah card stock and coloured him and his postbox with my Spectrum Noirs
A little white gel pen highlights the snow.
I used my lovely new Ebosser and xcut dies to cut him out
I matted him onto some co-ordination card stock
And used Marianne poinsettia die to make the flower
The backing paper is from Lili of the Valley and the boarder from Mulberry Wood card stock.
A little snowflake charm and some red gems just adds a finishing touch.

I had planned on entering him into Krafty Hands challenge but was a little bit late!

Baby girl card

Thought I'd get back to blogging, not posted in a while but had lost my mojo and haven't done any physical crafting for a while that I thought was worthy of showing but decided yesterday I would get back to it and made a card for a new baby girl.

The Image and sentiment are from the Hunky Dory kits supplied by Crafter's Companion and the papers are from the Humphrey CDs

It's kind of a card within a card as you open the ribbon (from my stash) you can see it opens 2 ways

I have added a verse inside the smaller card but couldn't geta decent photo to show it on here.
It was made for a friend to give to a friend so I hope they like it.

I am biting the bullet and entering this card into my first challenge - Joanna Sheen's So Sweet Challenge

Final Sneak peek - enjoy the shows today!!

Good Morning
The last of the cards I have made using the new products from QVC is a DL acetate card simple but effective.

I have used the backing paper that comes with the kits inside the card, a lush gilded topper on the front with another on the inside of the front to neaten it up.
Finally some of the gorgeous silver Chrsitmas roses just to add the finishing touches.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my cards over the last few days and that you enjoy Stephanie's shows today between 1pm and 4pm

Thanks you for dropping by

More sneak peeks

Good evening
Hope you are all still enjoying the good weather some of us are stuck in Christmas mode crafting with the new My Craft Studio range that has it's debut tomorrow on QVC  at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Stephanie and Amy will be showing it to you in all it's shiny glory.
I've been working with parts of the up and coming kits here's another peek at the lush stash
This card is using 2 of the gilded toppers, I have cut the scene out of the first one and separated the 2 with card folded in 1cm sections and folded to make squeezy sides. I then slotted a piece of the gorgeous glitted acetate in between the layered topppers. which makes it look like a snow storm is going on!
I have also made a box out of the acetate to house the card
Another topper adorns the top of the box and I have used some of the Christmas silver rose buds and a tassel made from the sublime twine to decorate.

More sneak peeks

Good afternoon and what anothre lovely day too hot to be thinking about Christmas but you do need to start planning your Christmas crafting and QVC are starting the ball rolling this Wednesday when Stephanie and Amy will be showcasing some fab new products.

The shows are scheduled for 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

After having a play with some of these I for will will be checking out the goodies and placing my order!

The first card I have done shows the gilded Christmas toppers and the metallic sublime twine. sorry but because of the lush shine on all these the photo's aren't that great - must try harder!!!

The silver snowflake backing paper I have used is from my own stock but I have used the twine to wrap around the card and the mirrored topper just doesn't need any adjustments. I have used the backing papers that come with the kit to make snowflake buttons using my epiphany tool. These are also threaded with the gorgeous sublime twine. A very wintery scene made on a sun drenched evening!!!

QVC Sneek Peeks

I have been lucky enough to be sent some of the new stash from My Craft Studio that is going to be featured on Wednesday's craft shows on QVC. I bet Stephanie is goign to have a ball demo-ing it.

Here's a couple of sneak peeks of some of my makes.

The new products are very festive in a very classical way and I have loved having a play this evening -I had to wait until it cooled down a bit as it just didn;t feel right Christmas crafting in the heat!

My makes will be shown over the next few days as a tease for what is to come on Wednesday - I don't know what the full kits will consist off as I have only been sent samples but from what I've seen the shows are going to be well worth watching and I'm sure there will be sell outs so get in there early.

Shows will be screen at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm so set the reminders on your TV

James turns into a teenager - or does he!

Today is James's 13th birthday - he's had teenage-itis for sometime now but is offically a real one now!!!
He has started street dancing classes recently and is due to be in a show in Hull in a couple of weeks so took inspiration from that when doing his card. I have done a really simple one - using card from The Paper  Mill, black vinyl and my silhouette.

I traced the dancers from an image downloaded from the net, cut the from th vinyl which made the so easy to position on the main card.

The next card was from Mollie for him.

She picked the bear from my Tatty Teddy Docraft discs, the paper and sentiment is also from the same disc and I've used Craftwork Cards candi just for added embellishment

Needless to say he was impressed with them but more so with the laptop we bought as a gift!

An afternoon colouring

I love colouring in and thought I'd have a go with a few Sugar Nellie digi stamps that I have had for a while.
I have used my Spectrum Noir alcohol pens from Crafter's Companion which I find so easy to olour with and they blend fantasically.

The little girl on the first card is called Hope and she looks so pensive she is my favourite of the 3.

The backing paper is from some free papers that came with a magazine, the purple backing is Core'dinations, the butterflies are from Craftwork Cards and the rose is of of course a Wild Orchid one

Next is Melissa, I have done this card for my Mother-in-Law's birthday card.

The backing is printed on Centura Pearl and printed from the SWALK 2 cd. Once again I have used Core'dinations to mat her onto and flowers from Wild Orchid. I've tried to match the pink to the colour of the flower she is carrying.

The sentiment is again taken from the SWALK 2 cd and matted onto a circle cut using my silhouette and then onto the pink Core'dinations.

And last but not least is poor little Nathan - he just looks as though any minute now he is going to burst into tears.

I have used papers from the same freebies as before, Core'dinations card stock, ribbon from my stash and CraftWork Cards card candi.

There is one more little girl to follow... Sybil, she is all coloured in but I have yet to play with her and make her into a card.

Hope you like my work and I would appreciate any feedback good or bad

Guardian Angel

Good afternoon, I really need to get on top of this blogging thing. Promised myself was going to blog at least once a week but time just seems to fly and before i know it another week has passed
Spent Saturday evening sorting out all my lovely Spectrum Noir pens into colour groups and organised a colour chart so yesterday when we got back from a lovely lunch I decided I was going to forget about everything else and have a play.

The stamp is a sugar Nellie Gorjuss one and the doily and flowers are from wild orchid. I've used some  backing papers from POlkadoodles and craftwork cards and one of their sentiments. The wings are glittered although it doesn't show up that well on the piccie.

Hope you like

Lots of cards made but no photos!

well Mothers day came along and I made lots of cards (from us and the kids) and took them to both mums on Sunday and it wasn't til I got home I realised I hadn't photographed them!!!

Then for the craft club I had to be quick in putting something together so used an easel draw card printout I downloaded from the Printable Craft Shop, I did resize it to make it smaller so I could use less card and added pearls and brads from my stash.

Picture isn't brilliant as camera battery was almost dead

It turned out quite well and the ladies loved making them I added some mini dairy milk choccy bars so we could put them in the draws.

Tatty Teddy

Good afternoon, I hope your all having a good Sunday!
I run a craft club in a sheltered housing complex and have been planning our next make this weekend. We had some new members join us last week and one lady expressed a love for Tatty Teddy so I got my Do-Crafts CD out, used my silhouette to cut the boxes and hey presto it all came together.

Tatty was duplicated and I flipped one, cut him out and used acetate to stand him in the middle of the box, glueing the figures back to back. All the embellishments and papers are from the cds except the little roses at Tatty's feet,  these are from My Craft Studio Paper Flowers. I shrank the sheets down so they are tiny, printed and made them up.
The box is made from card  kindly dontaed to the club by The Paper Mill and is a cream pearlised card.
I've spent today using my Silhouette to draw out a further 10 of these for my ladies to cut out and make up on Tuesday evening.

Strawberry kisses

I've promised my self I am going to try and blog at least once a week, working full time, looking after the family might get in the way but I'll try my best!!!
This weekend I've been playing with my spectrum noirs and Crafters companion strawberry kisses stamps.  I am trying to improve on my colouring techniques and I love these little characters, they are so easy to colour and bring to life and can be used for many occasions.

The backing papers are from the matching CD and the card blanks, sentiments and gems are from my stash. I've used the card companions off the CD for speed and because they match perfectly.
Hope you like x

First ever post!!

Well here goes, hello and welcome to my blog. I thought I would kick it off with a project I have been working on.
I was asked to do some wedding invitations for my broter's wedding in October. They didn't want anything traditional and had seen the funny cake toppers in the internet so I worked with a picture of one of these.
The colour theme was purple (a certain chocolate bar purple), cream and silver. So I researched the RGB colour and used My Craft Studio to make a background sheet, cut out the picture and pasted it onto the back ground. Did the same for the mats adding text in cream.

With a bit of purple and silver mirror card it all came together, see you what think. I had to add a band around to keep the card closed as the weight of the mirror card pulled it open.
I now have to work on matching place cards, menus and table numbers!!!

The happy couple were extremely happy with them and I've just received mine in the post!!!!
