Kindness and sunshine

Good afternoon, Well the snow has disappeared and we have rain storms with flood warnings - luckily we live up on a hill so are pretty safe!
I hope you are all entering the SumMore Fun challenge - don't forget you can win a gift certificate to spend on their huge collection of stamps!

Today's card is a very simple one that fulfills the theme from our current mood board:

I stamped the Large Stemmed Daisy stamp and the Kindness is to the Heart What Sunshine is to the Flowers sentiment with white opaque ink onto black card.

I had to stamp a few times to get a good level of ink. This is where the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform earns it's worth - you don't need to worry about getting perfect placement every time as long as your card stays in place you and stamp over and over again!
Once my image was stamped clearly I matted it onto some pink card and a white card base. A few matching enamel dots placed around the image just balanced the design.

Hello Daisy

Good morning! The snow is receding and the weather has been a bit warmer for the last few days lets just hope it stays.

It's the start of a new challenge over at SumMore Fun as always this is a moodboard challenge and as spring is on the way it's a bright and cheery one this time:

just look at the luscious colors and pretty flowers. The flowers are my inspiration for my design team card:

I used SumMore Fun's Large Stemmed Daisy Stamp, but tried a new technique to me - mirror stamping. I stamped the original flower and masked this off. I then stamped the image again onto acetate. I then carefully laid this onto my card and gently pressed down. The image stamped fainter  than the original but I resolved this by outlining both images with a black fineline marker. I colored both flowers in bright reds and pinks and then matted my image on to a scalloped card using black and red card to make the image pop.
I die cut 'hello' in the same black and red card, adhered these together so they had a shadow effect. This and a few enamel dots completed my card

The challenge is for 2 weeks and you could win a gift certificate to the SumMore Fun store.

Popping Hearts

Good Morning and Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I'm taking over the SumMore Fun blog today and what better way to celebrate the day than with red and pink with hearts!

This is the front of my card, I have used 2 sentiment stamps from SumMore Fun that do compliment each other. First I started with the larger Happy Valentine's Day stamped in the center of my card in red I then multi stamped Dot Happy Valentine's Day with pink ink all around the rest of the card.

When you open the card it pops with hearts:

Once I'd made up my card insert which is a die set from Karen Burniston, I stamped the Medium Sketch Heart on 4 piece of white card rotating them so they face opposite ways. These were then matted onto pink card and adhered to the pop up section of the card.
My front was matted in the same way and added to the card I then used a few enamel dots as embellishments.

Don't forget you still have a few more days to enter our moodboard challenge you can find the details here - just add all those Valentine's cards you have been making - I'm sure they will fit the theme:

Hair!!!

Good morning! The snow just keeps coming! it looks so pretty from the inside but is sooo cold from the outside!

Yesterday was  special little 7 year old's birthday, she has a gorgeous head of hair full of tight curls so I couldn't resist trying to recreate this for her card

This cute image from Paper Nest Dolls is called Big Hair Amara. Renee the birthday girl has her hair tamed in braids usually but occasionally her mom will let her have it brushed out and it is just like the image.
I colored Amara using alcohol markers then matted her onto pink card
I used Nitwit papers from their Perfect Pair Collection on my scalloped card base again matted with pink card. I die cut Memory Box Precious Daisies die and added a gem to the center. Once my card was layered I added the daisy to the top left. Then die cut a number 7 which was added to the image so it stood out.

Be Mine, Valentine

Good morning, we are under a few inches of snow again and it's said to last for much of the month so I'm keeping warm and hibernating in my craft room.

Valentine's Day is only a week away so I thought I would share a bit of my love with you all using some cute stamps from SumMore fun:

I chose a scalloped edge card base and stamped it all over with the Conversation Heart Stamp set.
I used a number of colors trying to keep them pastel shades like the candy. I then stamped the Be Mine, Valentine sentiment onto a separate piece of white card, I rounded the corners of this and matted it onto a piece of coordinating pink card.
This was then added to the center of my card using foam squares. Lastly I added some pink ribbon and bow to the top of the card.

As hearts are the main focus of the current moodboard challenge this design fits right in with it. Head on over to the SumMore Fun blog to check out how to play and what you can win!
