Poppi Pokkadot Mom

Good afternoon!

Today's post is another one with some Mother's Day inspiration. Sherry West couldn't let the occasion pass without introducing you to Mother Poppi Pokkadott and she is a darling:

What I Did:
I resized and printed the image onto Stamping card then colored her with my Alcohol markers.
Coordinating the orange from her apron I matted and a 7x5in card base with orange cardstock. To keep with the polka-dot theme I then chose some blue spotty design paper, tucking a coordinating ribbon around this before adhering it to the card base. I die-cut a frame and added Poppi to this. She was then placed on the card using foam dots.
As an added decoration to match in with the theme, i die-cut some kitchen utensils and added these to the bottom of my card.

What I Used:
Digital Stamp: Sherry West:
Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Card Base: Core'Dinations Premium Cardstock Heavy weight
Orange Card: Core'Dinations
Blue Polka-dot Paper: Digital Stamp Boutique
Die cut Frame: Gina Marie Designs: Loopy Rectangle Die Set
Kitchen Utensils: Memory Box: All Mixed Up

Smile

Good morning, hope everyone is keeping safe and well. It looks as though spring may be back. After the snow last week and the stay at home order it definitely felt like groundhog day!

Well today is Tuesday and that means one thing Digi Choosday! yes it's the start of a new challenge over on the Digi Choosday blog and the designer are making you smile in their inspiration this time.

We were tasked with making a card with the theme you make me smile and only using 2 colors. I have chosen to use various shades of pink and brown and have used a number of Polkadoodle's digital products for my card including this cute little Silly Monkey:

What I Did:
I started by resizing and printing Silly Monkey on to stamping card. I then colored her with Alcohol Markers, keeping my colors within my theme. I then fussy cut her and put to one side while I arranged the rest of my card. I chose some digital design paper's from the Helga collection and resized and printed these. I chose to use a brown card to mat my 7x5in card base and added the first layer of design paper onto this. I then matted 2 other pieces of design paper with the card stock. The first of these I adhered to the bottom right of my card. The second one I looped Silly Monkey's tail around the back of and added her to the front with foam squares (giving the impression she was hanging from the card.) I then added this to the top left of the card. Finally I chose a sentiment from Winnie's Special Moments quotes that fit perfectly with the theme. I printed this onto stamping card and inked it with pink distress ink so it coordinated with the rest of the card. It was matted on to brown card and added to the card to finish the design.

What I Used:
Digital Stamp: Polkadoodles: Silly Monkey
Digital Design Papers: Polkadoodles: Helga Big Kahuna VIP Download Bundle
Digital Sentiment: Polkadoodles: Winnie's Special Moments Quotes
Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Base Card: Core'Dinations Premium Heavyweight
Brown Card: Core'Dinations
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz
Glue: ZipDry
Foam Squares: from my stash

Duckie

Good afternoon, well the snow has returned, we have woken up to it a few mornings this week thankfully it's gone by the afternoon.

We are still on stay at home order and as our state is one of the worst hit we are likely to stay that way for a while.

My card today is inspiration for Sherry West's Duckie naming over on her Facebook group:

What I Did:
I resized and printed the digital stamp onto stamping card. Poppi Pokkadott and her duckie friend was then colored with alcohol markers. I matted a 7x5in card base with color coordinating cardstock and polka-dot design paper - Poppi needs her pokkadotts! I matted the image with the same cardstock. I then colored a pre-cut bow to match Poppi's outfit and added yellow punched dots for the polka-dots. My image was arranged on the card and the bow adhered in to place. I then arranged a die cut sentiment in the corner, trimming it so it fit.

What I Used:
Digital Stamp: Sherry West Art: Poppi Pokkadott and her Duckie
Stamping Card: X-press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
White card for base: Core'Dinations Premium heavy weight
Teal Cardstock: Tonic
Yellow polka-dot paper: Polkadoodles digital papers
Bow: Craftwork Cards
Sentiment Die: Unknown (was a gift)

Helga pop up box card

Good Morning, we are having some gorgeous weather here which is great for getting outside in the yard

It's Tuesday again which can only mean one thing - It's time for another challenge over at DigiChoosday. I've used some gorgeous images from Polkadoodles Helga Hippo:

What I Did:
I chose the Helga digital image I wanted to color, resized her and printed on to stamping card. She was the colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.
I then started to build my box. I used a piece of A4 cardstock and a template I had downloaded from the internet. Once this was cut and constructed I added 2 cross sections to add my embellishments on. I then traced around Helga on the back section of the box. I cut around this and placed her onto the portion of the back left so it appeared she was floating there.
I printed 2 copies of the matching design sheets and cut out the embellishments I wanted to use from these. I also printed 2 different patterned papers.
I matted and layered my box with pink and teal cardstock and then the patterned papers.
I adhered the cake and balloon embellishments to acetate and attached inside my box. This gave the the appearance of floating above the box. The candles rose pots and gift were also adhered to the box.
Finally I uploaded the sentiment to my graphics program and with a bit of cutting and pasting made it fit on the front flap of my box.

What I Used:
Digital Images and Papers: Polkadoodles Helga Big Kahuna VIP Download Bundle
Stamping card: X-Press It
Card for Box: Unknown
Pink and Teal Card: Core'Dinations
Glue: Zipdry
Acetate: Packaging from craft purchases
