Remembrance

Good Morning! Remembrance Day also called Poppy day is the 11th of November - The significance of the day is, I hope, known to all. It was when World War 1 ended - The 11th hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month.

In the UK with is remembered by the wearing of a poppy. My card is using the Stained Glass Poppy from The Little Paper Tree:

I colored the Poppy with Copic markers and cut the circle out.
I matted an A7 card base with red card. I then printed the Flanders Field poem onto grey card stock. If you've not heard the poem it tells the reason for using the poppy as a symbol of remembrance.
I added this to my card base and adhered my Poppy with foam tape.
Using my Cameo I then cut the letters for remember and added these to the card. This didn't appear to stand out as much as I wanted so I covered the letters with crystal glaze.

I hope my card has made you stop and think about the significance of the date. To all the veterans including my own Kev. Thank you for your service!

Let it Snow

Good morning! We had snow this week again but it's warmed up as the week has progressed.

This is my first post for Chicca's Tree House they have some adorable character digital stamps. Today and I am going to show you how I made this card using the cute little Silvia Snow:

I started my card by printing out Silvia onto stamping card, I chose Copic Markers to color her and used an oval die to cut her offset:

Next I matted an A7 card base with some snowflake papers.

I added my image and dusted her snowflakes with glitter.

I decided to add more snowflakes so cut these using dies and glittered them also

My finished card is so sweet.

- Digital Image: Silvia Snow
- Stamping Card
- White Heavy weight Cardstock For Base Card
- Copic Markers
- Oval Nesting Die

It's A Girl!!!!

Good afternoon! The snow finally is shrinking back, hopefully spring is round the corner although with the weather here we probably aren't out of the woods yet!

It's the first new release day over at Stamper's Delights and we are some super cute images for you. Do you need a new baby or shower card? Then this image is perfect - Meet Chibi It's a Girl:

Isn't she sweet! She comes with the sentiments shown with the image and being a digital stamp is easy to resize.
I decided to print off a few of the images so I could decoupage them:

I colored the whole of the first image, the second one I colored the box lid and tag (which had one of the sentiments printed on it)  and the last image I just colored the box lid ribbon.
I fussy cut all of the colored parts and stacked them on top of each other in the corresponding areas
I mated a A7 card base with some pink card and a peach colored polkadot paper. Then die cut a heart bunting from the same card I used for my mat. The sentiment was die cut again with a mat. I added my image to the card and tucked in the sentiment. The bunting was added across one corner and the waste from this, the hearts were 'scattered' down to my sentiment.

If you love this image head on over to the Stamper's Delights Store to see all of this week’s New Releases.

Smile

Good morning, hope everyone is keeping safe and well. It looks as though spring may be back. After the snow last week and the stay at home order it definitely felt like groundhog day!

Well today is Tuesday and that means one thing Digi Choosday! yes it's the start of a new challenge over on the Digi Choosday blog and the designer are making you smile in their inspiration this time.

We were tasked with making a card with the theme you make me smile and only using 2 colors. I have chosen to use various shades of pink and brown and have used a number of Polkadoodle's digital products for my card including this cute little Silly Monkey:

What I Did:
I started by resizing and printing Silly Monkey on to stamping card. I then colored her with Alcohol Markers, keeping my colors within my theme. I then fussy cut her and put to one side while I arranged the rest of my card. I chose some digital design paper's from the Helga collection and resized and printed these. I chose to use a brown card to mat my 7x5in card base and added the first layer of design paper onto this. I then matted 2 other pieces of design paper with the card stock. The first of these I adhered to the bottom right of my card. The second one I looped Silly Monkey's tail around the back of and added her to the front with foam squares (giving the impression she was hanging from the card.) I then added this to the top left of the card. Finally I chose a sentiment from Winnie's Special Moments quotes that fit perfectly with the theme. I printed this onto stamping card and inked it with pink distress ink so it coordinated with the rest of the card. It was matted on to brown card and added to the card to finish the design.

What I Used:
Digital Stamp: Polkadoodles: Silly Monkey
Digital Design Papers: Polkadoodles: Helga Big Kahuna VIP Download Bundle
Digital Sentiment: Polkadoodles: Winnie's Special Moments Quotes
Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Base Card: Core'Dinations Premium Heavyweight
Brown Card: Core'Dinations

Helga pop up box card

Good Morning, we are having some gorgeous weather here which is great for getting outside in the yard

It's Tuesday again which can only mean one thing - It's time for another challenge over at DigiChoosday. I've used some gorgeous images from Polkadoodles Helga Hippo:

What I Did:
I chose the Helga digital image I wanted to color, resized her and printed on to stamping card. She was the colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.
I then started to build my box. I used a piece of A4 cardstock and a template I had downloaded from the internet. Once this was cut and constructed I added 2 cross sections to add my embellishments on. I then traced around Helga on the back section of the box. I cut around this and placed her onto the portion of the back left so it appeared she was floating there.
I printed 2 copies of the matching design sheets and cut out the embellishments I wanted to use from these. I also printed 2 different patterned papers.
I matted and layered my box with pink and teal cardstock and then the patterned papers.
I adhered the cake and balloon embellishments to acetate and attached inside my box. This gave the the appearance of floating above the box. The candles rose pots and gift were also adhered to the box.
Finally I uploaded the sentiment to my graphics program and with a bit of cutting and pasting made it fit on the front flap of my box.

What I Used:
Digital Images and Papers: Polkadoodles Helga Big Kahuna VIP Download Bundle
Stamping card: X-Press It
Card for Box: Unknown
Pink and Teal Card: Core'Dinations
Glue: Zipdry
Acetate: Packaging from craft purchases

It's a Polka-dot Kind of Day

Good Morning! Hope everyone is well. We are starting week 3 of home schooling and working from home.

My work is of course making cards using gorgeous images and today's is from Sherry West Art. Meet Poppi Pokkadott:

Isn't she just a sweetheart!
What I Did:
I resized and printed Poppi onto stamping card and colored her with alcohol markers. She was the fussy cut. I made a 5x7in card base and matted this with black card and some digital design paper. The frame was also a digital design. I resized and printed on white card. I then used a craft knife to cut around the ladybugs so that Poppi would fit under them. Once she was adhered in place I matted the frame with back card and added this to the center of my card.

What I Used:
Digital Stamp: Sherry West: Poppi Pokkadott
Stamping Card: X-Press It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
White Cardstock for card base: Core'Dinations Premium Heavy Weight
Black Cardstock: Linda Chapman

Have a Fairy Merry Day

Good afternoon! The weather here is gorgeous, yes we still have snow on the ground but the sun is bright in the sky and the temps mean that it's bearable to be outside. It's only trying to fool us thought, more snow storms are predicted this coming week!

Today's card is using an image that I colored a few weeks back. She is from the lovely Sherry West and is called Have a Fairy Merry Day. She is a stunner!

What I Did:
I resized and printed the image on stamping card. She was colored with alcohol markers - wow did that hair take some coloring!
I then chose design papers and cardstock to coordinate with my coloring. My 5x7 in card base was matted with some of these. I used a different paper that was from the same set to off set under my image.
As I wanted to keep the whole card delicate looking I used a fine script sentiment die and positioned this along the lower edge of the card.

What I Used:
Sherry West Digital Stamp: Have a Fairy Merry Day
Stamping card: X-press It
White card base: Core'dinations Premium Cardstock
Aqua Card: Core'Dinations
Design Papers: Lili of the Valley (retired)
Die cut sentiment: The die was gifted to me so unknown
Copic Markers:
          Skin: BV000, E000, E00, E01, R30
          Hair: E35, E5550, E51, E53
          Wings: B00,B000, B0000
          Dress: B000, B00, B01, B02, B05, Trim R00

Hey but time passing means there is another new release over at Scrapper's Delights. This week it is a bunch of Sweet and Sassy Girls, I have been working with number 3:

She was so cute and sassy I had to color her twice!
I used Copic Markers then fine liners for highlights. The What Ever is a sentiment that came with her and I added the Twins? on my pc.
Once colored I matted the image onto navy card to match in with the sentiment I then added it to a 5x7 inch card base.

Who Needs School

Good Afternoon, we have just celebrated the 4th July. Lots of food and fireworks! It is hot hot hot but the humidity is up there too so not nice to be outside through the day!

So good time to be inside coloring and with this week's Chibi new release from Scrapper's Delights there is so much to color!

I have used Graffiti Gill and made a scene with the great wall that is included along with some of the fab graffiti:

These are fab images for teenager cards. I colored the whole image with Copic markers and added Staedtler pens for detail. I then matted an 8x8 inch black card with lime green. I added some of the graffiti words to a piece of florescent orange card and added this to my base. I matted my image with the same lime green card and added this to my card base. Simple card as the image didn't need anything else.

Head on over to the Scrapper's Delights Store to see all of the new releases.

Here are just a few of them:

My card is using their Primrose Set. It comes with both a colored and outline version. There are also 3 sentiments that fit in the banners on the image but I chose to use these in a different way:

I printed out the outline image, cut this out on my Scan 'n' cut and colored with alcohol markers and colored pencils.
I then used my graphics program to resize the primroses and fade them. I added 2 of the sentiment - Mother's Day and Primrose to make a digitally designed backing paper.
I matted this on yellow and green card to pull the colors from the colored image.
I used a white 5x7 inch card base and added a few enamel dots to complete the card.

Have a "woofly" Day

Good morning from a freezing Michigan. We have had some really cold weather with snow and ice storms and it's not over yet but that gives me more of an excuse to stay inside and craft.

Today's make is a cute card as part of my application to Jo's Scrap Shack design team. I couldn't resist this Corgi from Some Odd Girl and thought him just right to show off my CAS style:

Isn't he the cutest? I printed him on to X-press It cardstock and colored him with alcohol markers. To keep this clean I just typed up a sentiment on my pc and printed this along side the little guy. I matted the topper onto 2 shades of brown card and added them to a 5x7in card base.
Simple but cute card!
