Ella and her Castle

Good afternoon - Spring Break starts at the end of this week and I sure hope the weather is kind to us!

OK those of you who know me or read my posts frequently know I have a daughter, Mollie, who is crazy about princesses so I couldn't not color up the gorgeous baby ones from the store - I showcased  Princess Annie and Ollie a couple of weeks ago

 Now it's Ella's turn:

Isn't she adorable and her castle is stunning.

I colored her up with alcohol markers and added sparkles to the snowflakes on her dress, hair and castle. I had some gorgeous sparkly paper that has snowflakes embossed on it which I used as my backing paper - unfortunately the photo doesn't show it too well. I then printed some blue digital design paper, matted them all with a blue card. The image was also matted onto this before arranging on the card. I used a snowflake corner die to balance the image and some gorgeous sparkly gems to make it look symmetrical.

I chose to make an 8x8 inch card this time as I felt it needed the size for the magnificent castle - this gave me room to draw brickwork onto the walls after I had colored them

Ella and all her baby Princesses and Princes are available in the store and are great for children's cards so why not check them all out!

We also have a Facebook page where you can get more inspiration from me and my teamies, there are also giveaways and discounted posted frequently!

Ingredients Used:
Design Papers from my stash
Gems from my stash

Dragon Lady

Good afternoon - and Happy Easter, hope you are full of the Easter story and not chocolate - OK a little chocolate won't harm :)

Fantasy-land is nothing without dragons, they don't all have to be mean looking and the Dragon Lady digistamp is a stunner. She is one of the new releases at Faery Ink for March I couldn't wait to color her up with my Spectrum Noir Markers and bring her to life.

Dragon Lady

I rarely use green in my cards as it's not one of my favorite colors but I decided that she needed to be bright and colorful so used a bright green both for her and my design paper on my card. it keeps the image bright I used a blend of yellow and orange down her spine - almost looking like the fire dragons breathe.

Dragon1

I will not lie I searched the web for a suitable sentiment to go with her and came across this and thought it very fitting because I have used a large 8x8 inch card blank I decided to split the wording so that it balanced the card. A few enamel dots just completed the design.
You can find Dragon Lady in among the Newest Digis this month over in the Faery Ink Store and if you need more inspiration my teamies are also coloring her up and posting on the Faery Ink Facebook Group page

Gabbie Frangipani Mermaid

Good afternoon - Wow time is flying!!! I don't know where all my days go - Easter is almost upon us - where did the beginning of this year go????

I'm here today to showcase one of March's new release from Fairy Ink

Such a sweet image! She was a delight to color.

I love flowers so I first did a google search to find out about the Frangipani flowers that circle her head. Of course it is also known as the Hawaiian Lei flower and is native to warm tropical areas. It is a delicate white color with bright yellow centers and edged with rose pink and is highly fragrant at night making it an ideal flower for bouquets and the Leis that Hawaiian's can often be seen wearing!

OK so now I had the colors out came my Spectrum Noir Markers:

I used a stippling technique on her tail to try and get the textured look of scales which I think has worked. I then used a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to add shine this was difficult to capture in the photo so I have a close up here:

Doesn't the pen just make her tail pop?

Once colored I matted Gabbie onto Kraft card. I chose some design paper with a water effect and matted this with Kraft card before adhering to a white card base.
I added an ocean creature die cut which was colored using the same color as the rock Gabbie is laid across.
I chose the sentiment from a Crafter's Companion collection - I thought it was very apt for an image of a mermaid!

You can find Gabbie along with all the other March new releases here in the Faery Ink store, if you are looking for more inspiration then my teamies are showcasing their designs over on the Faery Ink Facebook page so call by and see us!

Thanks for stopping by
I would love to know your thoughts on my card in the comments below :)

Bunny is Egg-cellent at Hiding!

Good afternoon - we have had some great weather just lately - hard to believe that it was only Early March - didn't last long though - it's started snowing again today and it seems intent on laying!

It's almost Easter so I'm here with another of the gorgeous digistamps from the Coloring Fun Collection from The Scrapoholic Candy Shop

Meet Peekaboo Bunny

Before printing her out I typed Peek a Boo on the egg!

Isn't she just the cutest???
I have colored her with alcohol markers and matted her on to pink card before using spring like papers from my stash to complement the image. I also matted these with the same card. Once arranged on the card I placed my image using foam tape to give it dimension. I added a tagged paper clip and fixed it in place at an angle to make it look as though the clip was holding it in place.

If you need any last minute images for Easter cards then these would be great as you don't have to wait for them to be shipped - you can start straight away!

There are lots of other Easter or Spring themed images that will work too just pop along to the online shop and check them out.

We also have a Facebook page where you can get more inspiration from me and my teamies, there are also giveaways and discounted posted frequently!

My poor MISTI - Oh what fun you can have!!!

Good morning - bright and sunny here but cold so I thought I would do some crafting - Came into my craft room.............................................

SHOCK!!!!! HORROR!!!!!!

QUICK CALL THE POLICE SOMEONE IS ABOUT TO COMMIT MURDER!!!!!

OK enough of the dramatics

I have a confession to make..................

I LOVE MY MISTI!!!!

I use it every time I stamp, it's always out on my desk and is well taken care of.

If you don't know what a MISTI is it's the Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented and is sold by My Sweet Petunia

It helps with mass stamping as well as helping to re-stamp an image.
We've all done it - Stamped an image and not got even pressure and the stamp is either partially stamped or not dark enough - The MISTI stops all this, after lining it up on your paper, you fix your stamp to the lid by closing it re-open it, ink your stamp, close and apply gentle pressure. It is magnetic so you use magnets to hold your paper in place and when you open it the stamp and ink stay in their position until you remove them. Need to re-stamp? just re-ink your stamp and close the MISTI again and it will stamp in exactly the same place as previously. Need multiple images of the same stamp? Line your stamp up as above and line your card up with the grid - stamp, leave stamp inposition, remove card and place with the next one by lining it up in same place as previous hey presto identical placement of image and you can do this as many times as you wish.
Want to stamp 2 images at once? line them both up on your MISTI, ink and close the lid and both with stamp together.

So As you can imagine my acrylic blocks have been relegated to the back of a cupboard.

OK so back to the start of  my post - why was their murder being committed???
Just take a look

Think my blocks are a bit angry they have been retired!!!!

They have ganged up on my MISTI - Don't know what the purple devil was planning on doing with the scissors but it didn't look good!

Oh but the MISTI isn't innocent in all this - Take a look at the stamp he was using!

No wonder the Blocks are angry!!!!

OK back to the serious side of the post - If there is one -
I LOVE MY MISTI!!!!

It is definately the best stamping tool I have ever come across and would highly recommend it to anyone - it's worth it's weight in gold if you are a serious stamper!!!

This post is my entry to win a Mini version of the MISTI over at So Suzy Stamps

Thanks for stopping buy and I would love you to leave some love!

Dreamtime Craft Supplies have some great products and I have used a few on my inspiration card today:

Meet Pup and me - This card is for a special little girl who celebrated being with her adopted family for 8 years this week - she calls it her Forever Day!
I have used Alcohol markers to color her - this was a challenge as I have never colored dark skin before! The family are also in the process of adopting a puppy so I have tried to color the dog in the similar colors to their new addition.
I used a pre-made card base and matted this with purple card and some design paper from my stash. Taking the same card and a coordinating paper I die cut 2 heart circles and matted these onto my card. My image was then matted onto card and positioned on my card.
I then used the waste from the die cuts and scattered these around the card.

Ingredients Used:
Pup and Me Saturated Canary Digi-stamp - retired

Cold hands.........warm heart

Good morning, we've had thunder storms over the last couple of days but luckily no snow!!!

I'm here today to showcase another Scrapoholic Candy Shop cute digistamp - well actually 2! These 2 adorable baby characters together but are separate stamps but because they are digital format they can be grouped together without the need for masking as you would need to do with physical stamps!

Aren't they the cutest babies?

They are part of a collection of Royalty which even includes little princes!

I have cuddled them both together and colored them with my Spectrum Noir Markers:

I then typed the sentiment and printed along side them. I made a 5x7 inch card base with white card and then matted this with purple card. The design papers are from Lili of the Valley and I have again matted these and my image with purple card. before arranging them on my base keeping to my signature design of clean and simple.
Finally I added a few enamel dots just to balance the card.

The image can be found over at the Scrapoholic Candy Shop and if you want any more inspiration pop across to the Facebook Page - there are regular giveaways and we are holding a challenge there at present!

Thank you for stopping by

Lose Your Heart to the Ocean

Good afternoon! We are still in the throws of Spring and long may it last!!!!

I'm here today with a new release from Faery Ink and what a stunner she is!
Meet Demera Sea Siren:

Each month with Faery Ink I try and push myself out of my comfort zone. So as I have never tried any other skin color than white I thought I would use Demera to push my boundaries and as she is a sea siren what better way than giving her a skin tone that would reflect this:

So I colored her green and used shades of green and aqua through out my coloring the only other color being the flash of orange of the starfish on her arm. Of course I have used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color her!

I decided to make this a very simple card and chose the quote from the internet, typed it so it fit around Demera and printed it directly onto the image topper.
I made a white card base, used some design paper which coordinated with my coloring. then matted my image onto dark blue card as a contrast.
I added my favorite embellishments of 3 enamel dots to the bottom right of the card just to balance the design

If you love her as much as I do you can grab her in the newest digi section of the Faery Ink shop. There is also more inspiration with her over on the Faery Ink Facebook page.

Un-Frog-ettable

Good afternoon, I've had a busy morning but sitting having a cup of tea with Gizzie on my feet so decided to do an extra blog post for Scrapoholic Candy Store.

On leap day they released a cute little frog character - he is still available in the online shop and can be used for any occasion

Ok so I know leap day has passed but I still wanted to color him up so I printed him without the sentiments

I colored the design with my Spectrum Noir Markers, adding texture to the little frog with the colorless blender.
I then stamped the water splashed from a cute little Clearly Besotted stamps set in an ink slightly darker than the marker I had used for the water.
I used white card for my base and matted this with a blue card which coordinated with the design. to add a pop of color I matched up some card with the water lily flower and matted my image with this. The sentiment is from a personal Impressions stamp set and again I have matted this on the pink card
A few token enamel dots just completed the design

The image can be found over at the Scrapoholic Candy Shop and if you want any more inspiration pop across to the Facebook Page - there are regular giveaways and we are holding a challenge there at present!

Thank you for stopping by x

Unicorn's are cute!

Good afternoon, we are having a real mix of weather, snow, warm sunny days and rain all within 4 days! Yesterday was so nice that Mollie got her sandals out!!!

On to my post for today - who love's unicorns - these mythical creatures are stunning and can look so elegant but today's version is a little cute pudgy one from the Scrapoholic Candy Shop:

Aren't they the cutest?

I have colored the one on the left:

I used my Spectrum Noir Markers and a purple fine line pen to give the mane and tail depth.

I then matted the image and some gorgeous rainbow design paper from my stash with purple card before adhering them to an 8x8in scalloped card base. I added a matching ribbon and some colored skittles to finish the card.

The image is part of this week's Monday releases and you can find him in the Scrapoholic Candy Shop along with cute dragons and the most adorable gymnasts you have ever seen! You can see other inspiration over on the Scrapoholic fan Facebook page

Doodlebug Bunny Ballerina

Good morning all - the snow has finally started to disappear and there is no more forecast over the next 8 days - in fact the temperatures are due to rise to decent levels!

Spring is finally on it's way and I have seen my first robin today which confirms this! With Spring comes Easter and fun for kids over at Faery Ink the Facebook challenge this month is to color a gorgeous Easter Image - Meet Doodlebug Bunny Ballerina.

Isn't she adorable? She is free over on the challenge group and as long as you follow the directions over there you can win some fab prizes.

One thing you need to do is create a background for her. As she's an Easter Bunny I chose to make an egg shaped card!

I colored Doodlebug with my Spectrum Noir Markers choosing a nice peachy color for her dress. I then fussy cut her ready to be placed on my card
My card blank was designed on my Silhouette Cameo, I drew an egg shape, copied and pasted it so I had 2 then welded them together before cutting in yellow card.
My design Paper is from a Crafter's Companion collection, I die cut one edge and then cut to fit on the lower part of the egg. Doodlebug was positioned so her ear overhangs on the card.
I added a small stamped sentiment, some coordinating Wild Orchid flowers and a few enamel dots to balance the card.

Isn't she just a cutie and she's all your if you decide to follow our Facebook challenge

Some Bunny Loves you

Good afternoon! We had a huge dump of snow yesterday but it's supposed to disappear quickly and we have temperatures of 60+F forecast for next week! - Here's hoping!!!!

I'm kicking off some Easter makes with my post today, The Scrapoholic Candy Shop has released some adorable Easter digi stamps this week and I couldn't resist coloring up this adorable Bunny Butt!

Isn't it just the cutest???

It's from the Coloring Fun Collection, the sentiment is separate but I decided to place it within the egg - that's the advantage of digi stamps you can play around with the size and order of everything.

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir Markers and die cut that and the checked design paper with Gina Marie's stitched circle dies.
The papers are from Lili of the Valley, I matted the pink onto my card base and used the others to accent my image.
I found the ribbon in the clearance section in my local Walmart's Store this morning and couldn't resist popping this and another 6 roll into my cart :)

I added some enamel dots just to balance the card - a super cute card for a super cute image!!!

Goodbye Christmas

Well I've just been shoveling a ton of snow so feels a bit Christmasy here!

I have some sad news today - It's finally time for me to move on from The 12 Month's of Christmas design team this month will be my last post with them. I have enjoyed my time on the team and it has certainly encouraged me to keep on top of my Christmas crafting!

So without further ado here's the details about this months Challenge:

Our Sponsor this month is A Day for Daisies

They will be giving away a $12 gift certificate to a random winner who has followed the optional theme.
There is also a 2nd prize offered to everyone even if you don't follow the theme you could have the chance of winning a set of Holiday Decoration digital papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.ca/

Ok I hear you ask what is this months theme?
Holiday Decorations - I don't know about you, but one of the things that I love about Christmas time is the decorations that I see up all over the place.  Whether in people's homes, or out and about in the community, there are such a wide variety of beautiful holiday decorations to choose from.  Strings of lights, wreaths on doors, stockings on mantles (or in the case of my house, hanging from the piano!), window paintings, tree ornaments, angels on trees--the list goes on and on!  This month, let's bring some of those holiday decorations to your cards!

On to my showcase, I couldn't resist using Sparkle Angels for my card:

These tiny angels look like they are decorating the tree with star shaped baubles. I have colored the image with Faber Castell Polychromo pencils and matted it onto pearlescent blue card. I used the same card for my base and to die cut the bauble.
I matted my card blank with 2 colors of digital design papers from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. Adding a stamp from Crafter's Companion to hang my bauble from

Simple card but I didn't feel it needed any further embellishment.

OK you can find our Challenge on the 12 Month's of Christmas Link up blog, it runs for a month and all you have to do is link up a Christmas card - think of it like your 1 more card to completing your Christmas makes for this year!
