It's your month Aries

Good afternoon. Tomorrow we fly to the UK and I am so looking forward to spending time with my family and friends. I'm busy making sure I have all my blog posts covered as well as getting stuff together to pack.

Todays post is the VIP release from Scrapper's Delights and its the next zodiac sign which started on 21st of March.
Let me introduce you to Miss Aries:

Isn't she so pretty,  she is a complete kit of a ton of extra embellishments that all relate to her sign.
I have incorporated 5 separate png images in my card using a graphics program to resize and bring them all together. I colored my card with alcohol markers and colored pencils. A white 5x7in card base was matted with purple card before adding my card front. The only other thing I have added is sparkle pen to the stars which doesn't show up well in the photo.

The Scrapper's Delights VIP deals includes 3 teen Anime each month with bonus images, this month Aries, that you can only get by taking advantage of the offer.
The teen images are so cute too:

Head on over to the store for more details.

Thanks for stopping by, you can find my teamies inspiration over on the Facebook page and the Scrapper's Delights Blog

Freebie mermaid from Scrapper's Delights

Good morning - well we were forecast storms but up until now they haven't arrived. We are in need of the rain though as long as it comes without the storm I will be happy!

Have you heard of the Markers! Paper Digis! Facebook group? It's a great group for you to showcase your coloring and if you pop over there sometime soon there is a number of free images being given away by the digi designers who run it. Including this gorgeous mermaid from Scrapper's Delights:

Isn't she the cutest!!!!

She is free in this format but there is also a full scene version that is on offer at a great price!

My teamies and I have been coloring her up this week and there are some great designs being spotlighted over on the Markers Facebook page today.

Here is what I have done with her

I pulled together a beach background using my graphics program. I then matted this onto my card base using a dark aqua card as contrast.
I then colored my image using alcohol markers I added clear sparkle overlay to her scales and the pearl which you can see on this close up

Once she was colored I fussy cut her and laid her on the scene I had made. I then colored and added a die cut border that complemented the design.

Ingredients used:
Aqua Card - from my stash
Shell diecuts - from my stash

If you would love the digi then come and join the Facebook page and grab her whilst she is available.
Scrapper's Delights also has a challenge running at the moment so why not enter your makes with her over there.
Stop by the Scrapper's Delight Facebook page for regular news on and inspiration from my Teamies and keep your eyes peeled on my blog for new releases from them!

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Gabbie Frangipani Mermaid

Good afternoon - Wow time is flying!!! I don't know where all my days go - Easter is almost upon us - where did the beginning of this year go????

I'm here today to showcase one of March's new release from Fairy Ink

Such a sweet image! She was a delight to color.

I love flowers so I first did a google search to find out about the Frangipani flowers that circle her head. Of course it is also known as the Hawaiian Lei flower and is native to warm tropical areas. It is a delicate white color with bright yellow centers and edged with rose pink and is highly fragrant at night making it an ideal flower for bouquets and the Leis that Hawaiian's can often be seen wearing!

OK so now I had the colors out came my Spectrum Noir Markers:

I used a stippling technique on her tail to try and get the textured look of scales which I think has worked. I then used a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to add shine this was difficult to capture in the photo so I have a close up here:

Doesn't the pen just make her tail pop?

Once colored I matted Gabbie onto Kraft card. I chose some design paper with a water effect and matted this with Kraft card before adhering to a white card base.
I added an ocean creature die cut which was colored using the same color as the rock Gabbie is laid across.
I chose the sentiment from a Crafter's Companion collection - I thought it was very apt for an image of a mermaid!

You can find Gabbie along with all the other March new releases here in the Faery Ink store, if you are looking for more inspiration then my teamies are showcasing their designs over on the Faery Ink Facebook page so call by and see us!
