A little under the Weather

Hello and welcome to Challenge number 3 at Little Patch of Crafty Friends.

We have 3 more fab Sponsors for our challenge and they are offering some great prizes:

Faery Ink giving away a prize of 3 of their images

That Craft Place Ltd giving a prize of 3 images

Oddballs Art Giving 3 images also!

The challenge is anything goes all you have to do is follow our simple rules which can be found here. For inspiration each of the design Team has chosen and image from the sponsors. My creation is using an Oddball image called Big eyed Emo Girl Under a Rain Cloud with Glasses

I have used my Polychromo Pencils to color her and she is slightly out of my comfort zone being an Emo girl - but think the colors I have chosen fit her mood! As she is under a cloud I typed an "under the weather" sentiment on the pc and matted this onto 2 shades of purple Core'dinations card. I used a Crafters Companion Embossalicious folder to emboss the cloud design onto some of the same card and sanded this back to make the pattern pop. I have then used a Memory Box set of cloud dies for added embellishment. The edges of my topper and the clouds have been color tinted with distress ink as a finishing touch.

Come along and join us at Little Patch of Crafty Friends and enter the fab challenge you never know you may win!

Cupcake anyone???

Hello. Well another busy week has passed - I can't believe January is almost over!!! We still have plenty of snow and cold temperatures but Winter is passing quickly (I Hope!) and I can't wait for Spring to come round

On to todays make. As the month is nearly done you have just 2 more days to enter the challenge over at So Suzy's Stamps. Rules are simple and can be found here.

The theme is something new so I am showcasing 2 more of her beautiful stamps from this month's new release why not pop by the shop and see them all

The gorgeous Fancy Swirl Cupcake and Beautiful Cupcake sentiment.

I have stamped them both with Tsukineko Brilliance ink which has a pearlescent finish. The card has been matted with blue card to tone in with images and I have used backing paper from Crafter's Companion's Angelica and Adam's Paper pads  The same collection has been used to stamp the sentiment onto. I have finished off the cupcakes with some sprinkles (sequins).

New Year

Hello again - second post today!

This time I'm using the fab stamps from So Suzy Stamps! We have a monthly challenge running at the moment with a theme of something new. So Suzy Stamps has some fab new releases this month which could be used to make your entry just pop by the store to check them out.

The rules of the challenge are simple and you can find them here. You don't have to be a blogger to enter you can link your card from Facebook!

On to my make as we are still in January I thought I'd make a New year card

The stamps I have used are called Dandelion and dandelion Fluff, this is a set of 2 stamps the main stem is one and the fluff (which I have stamped three times) are a separate one. I have used jet black ink to stamp them and them typed the sentiment on my pc. The backing paper is unfortunately a discontinued digital collection from Scribble and Scrap Crafts which I have matted onto black card before adding to the white card blank.

I have carried the theme inside the card

By typing the remainder of the sentiment and stamping more of the fluff!

I love making clean and simple cards and these stamps make this an easy theme to stick with.

Bugs in Ballooons

Good Morning, This has been a mad week! We adopted a black Labrador puppy last weekend and as you can imagine he is very boisterous and taking up all of my free time. I feel like I've got a new born in the house - having to get up 2-3 times a night as he's crying to go out and following him round waiting for him to go potty! But we are getting there and hopefully he'll settle down over the coming weeks!

Today is the mid-way reminder for Scribble and Scrap's 36th Challenge - why not pop by their blog and join us. You can win fab prizes from the Scribble and Scrap store and the rules are simple - An added bonus is it is always anything goes so even if your craft isn't card making you can still enter.

I have used the Hobby House Wee Toppers again;

These little bugs are from the Peggy and Friends collection of toppers. Aren't they just adorable! I have made the card for James it give his girlfriend for her birthday - his head is way in the clouds as he's in love - bless him!
I have used some blue card as matting for the design and added Lili of The Valley Petal Fresh Papers which color co-ordinate in with the design so well. A few pearls in the corner just to finish the CAS look of the card.

Thanks for stopping by and now shoot across to the Scribble and Scrap blog and join the fun!!

I have been using the Wee toppers I'm addicted to again. This week its Peggy and friends and the gorgeous little mermaid and her pal the cute little heart bubble blowing snail

These images are so adorable and there are plenty to choose from in the Scribble and Scrap Store all the sheets also have a good collection on them too!
I have matted her onto some Kraft cards scalloped using my cameo. I have then used a Lili of the Valley Paper pad for the backing paper again matted onto Kraft card. The paper has been stamped with the water droplets stamp from Designs by Ryn. I have then used some Rickrack ribbon and some aqua colored skittles to embellish it further.

Get Creative Challenge 6 - Celebrate anything new!

Good morning! We have had a full week of snow with really bad storms at the back end of last week so plenty of the white stuff all around and with low temperatures it's going to be hanging around for a while but we are so prepared for it this year!!!

Today is the start of Challenge 6 over at Get Creative Challenges and we have a fab sponsor this time round  - Its our own Angie with her very own Digi company Angie's Digi Stamps - she has some adorable characters including the one I have chosen to color for my Design Team card. To enter the challenge is very easy - just check out the rules here and follow the theme which this time round is Celebrate something new!

On to my creation. I have chosen to do a new baby card:

This little fellow is called Cute Bug I have colored him with my Polychromo Pencils and fussy cut him. After coloring Mollie asked why I had made him into a bee when he was a caterpillar lol - I'd just focused on his stripes!! I have used a bright orange card for matting and have die cut a scalloped circle for the sentiment using the same card. The sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion Sentimentals collection. I have used papers from Docrafts Papermania Capsule Collection to tie the colors together and a little bow for a finishing touch.

So come on pop by Get Creative Challenges and join our challenge you've nothing to lose and may win a fab prize!

Phineas The Peacock

Good morning all I was lucky enough to get hold of the Peacock during the pre-order over at So Suzy Stamps and couldn't wait to use him. Suzy did a Facebook competition to name him and Phineas was the favorite of the Design Team members.

Todays post is a reminder about our January challenge over on the So Suzy blog - It is easy to enter just check out the rules which you can find here. This month we have started theming the challenge and for January the theme is something new and what better way to showcase this but with another new release stamp.

So here is his debut for my blog:

I have used Indigo Blu's Flitter Glu to stamp him and the used their gilding flakes to give him his regal glow! The stamps are so detailed that even with gilding flakes you don't lose the definition of the swirls. The gems within his swirls are hot gems in which are black with an iridescent coating. I have then used the top part of So Suzy Stamps crown stamp in each corner for the swirls again stamped and gilded with flakes. I have used a blank shaped card blank, Phineas has been matted onto gold mirror card and purple glittered Core'dinations.

Before I go, did you know that So Suzy Stamps can be found on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Yes you should join us there and find more inspiration and fun.

On to my make for the design team - I have used a Sweet Pea Stamp which can be purchased from the Scribble and Scrap online store along with a wide selection of other crafty goodies.

She has been colored with Polychromo Pencils - I am quite pleased with how she has turned out and need to use my pencils more! I have matted her onto dark pink card and used 2 papers from my stash as backing paper. again matted onto pink and turquoise card. I have then used a few skittles to embellish the card. These stamps need very little dressing up as they are so detailed and show themselves off!

With Love

Good morning. It now looks how Michigan in winter should do now. We had plenty of snow fall and are due a steady fall all week! Looks pretty from the inside and luckily I don't have to drive in it until Wednesday when the ploughs will be running regularly!

Challenge 35 has started over at Scribble and Scraps Challenge and I am so addicted to their Wee Toppers that I have used yet another one for my design team card!

If you want to join us it's easy - just follow the rules you can find here and add your creation which can be anything from a card to a home furnishings project as long as it's own made. As always we are anything goes!

This is from the Hopeful set of toppers - isn't this little puss adorable?
The card blank is a shaped one from Craftwork Cards and I have scored and folded it into an easel. The edge of this fit well with the shape of the topper. I have used Blue card from my stash which complements the balloons as matting and cut this with a spellbinder die to match the topper. The sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion Humphrey set and again I have die cut the card to continue the shape through the card This has then been fixed in place with foam tape so it acts as a stopper for the easel. A few of the card candie again from Craftwork cards just add a flash of color. a very simple card but didn't need much to show off the gorgeous the topper!

New stamp release from So Suzy Stamps!

Good morning from a snowy Michigan - yes it's finally returned and looking at the forecast there is lots more to come over the next few days and temperatures are due to drop wit the wind chill getting as low as -10! luckily we are planning on a weekend at home!

Wow! Have you seen the fab new stamps released today over at So Suzy Stamps!!! There are some gorgeous ones ready for your Valentines crafting and of course the peacock makes his full debut today - if you've been watching Facebook you may have been lucky enough to catch him on pre-order!

On to my card for both the new release and the start of the January challenge - Which is easy to enter  The rules are simple and can be found here - all you have to do is add one of your makes using So Suzy Stamps to the linky. The theme this month is something new - so what's more fitting than one of So Suzy Stamps New stamps:

This Gorgeous stamp is called two cats in a tree. I have used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color the different sections before stamping it - it is one stamp but by doing this I have been able to color the cats black and the branch and leaves in brown and green. You can just make out that the cats have a little love hearts in between them as well as their tails curled into a heart. It is adorable. I have added the sentiment which is from a Crafter's Companion Sentimentals Set.
As I have a small amount of red in my stamped image I decided to use this as the main backing for the card. I have punched inverted corners into this and matted this, the image and papers (with skeletal leaves printed on) all onto black card. I have used distress ink to take the stark whiteness away from the image also. The card has then been finished off with some liquid pearls in each of the corners.

Before I go did you know that So Suzy Stamps can be found on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Yes you should join us there and find more inspirations and fun!!
