WANTED!!!!!

Hello -  I'm back again with another fab new release over at My Whimsical Little World - 2 adorable little western characters - Howdy Partner and Howdy Lass!

Me being a girly girl decided I would use the Howdy Lass cowgirl but with a twist I have made her quite girly:

She is colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers and I just had to use pink! However some girls can be real trouble causers and she is certainly ready to draw those guns so I had to add a bit of  naughtiness to the card

So here she is Wanted - dead or alive! I die cut the image with a tonic die and then inked the edges. I then used a spellbinder cattails die to cut the embellishments using Kraft card. I printed the sentiment on the backing paper using my PC and matted this onto more Kraft card.
So she is a Badass cowgirl who loves pink!

Why not go and check out the other new release - a cowboy - they could ride off to the sunset together!

Whilst your checking out My Whimsical Little World don't forget that this month's freebie is still available a delicious double cupcake with a cherry on top!

And if that's not enough you can pop by the Facebook group and enter the progressive challenge
If you haven't got your stamp yet head on over the Etsy store for this month's stamp - Little Prince where he is available at half price whilst the challenge is running. Once you have completed your project upload it to the challenge album here. the prize is a set of 3 digi stamps and you will also receive July's challenge digi stamp free!

Thanks for stopping by and I would appreciate
if you could leave a comment - I love to read what people think of my makes :)

More than one fold

Good morning. It's been a busy week for me and I'm still trying to play catch up with blogging but will get there by the end of today :)

Today is the start of the next challenge over at Wags and Whiskers and I got to play with another of their gorgeous images!

The theme this time is more than one fold. The prize is a Wags and Whiskers rubber stamp.  You can use any stamp for the challenge however, if you use a Wags and Whiskers stamp you will be entered into a second draw to win a digistamp.

Rules are
You can enter any type of paper-craft project.
You can enter 2 times per challenge.
You must use a new project - no back linking.
Follow the theme.
You link must be a direct link to your entry.

I decided to do an easel pink and girly easel card

The image is Tiny Dancer - isn't she just adorable :) I have colored her using Spectrum Noir markers and used a die to cut her into a circle. The card is a Craftwork cards pre shaped card blank with the scalloped cut-out. I have matted pink card onto this and used Lili of the Valley backing paper. The die-cuts were made using the same pink card and a die which was a freebie in a magazine. I typed the sentiment on my PC and printed it in pink ink. Again matting this onto the pink card.
A simple but adorable card!

If you love what you see please leave me a comment before hopping over to the Wags and Whiskers blog and entering our challenge.

Cards purse

Good morning - I have seen some gorgeous little purses all over Facebook recently so investigated how to make them. I am about to share with you how to make them -  I can't take credit for this as I found the original tutorial on You Tube done by  Crafty Hallett. I have broken the video down in to pictures of the steps I followed that I hope are easy for you to follow too.

To start with let me show you what I am talking about

This little purse hold 6 cards and envelopes and is made totally from cardstock - and here's how:

To start with you need the following pieces of card

I made a booboo when photographing there should be 3 12x1/2 inch strips.
The paper is from Echo Park Homegrown range and the card is Core'dinations.

You start by making the base, score a half inch around all sides of the 2.5x5.25 piece like so:

Then cut into one side of each of the corner squares and add tape:

These are then folded and stuck on the outside to form a box, it's important you stick on the outer edge as you don't want to see them inside the finished purse

Put this to one side and then tape all (3) of the 12x1/2 inch strips

With the patterned side facing you stick one of the strips to the top of main body of the purse (patterned paper 3.5x12 inch strip)

Turn this over and apply tape along the bottom and the right edge

The starting at the middle of one of the longer sides of your base box stick the main body around the base - ensuring you keep the bottom edge of the main body level with the bottom of the base.

It is important that you don't crease or fold the main body as you wrap it around the base

Continue until you have completely wrapped the base then stick the side edges together

Your purse should now look like this.
The next step is to cover the bottom edge with another of the 12x1/2 inch strips. This will hide any parts where you may have not covered the base

Again make sure you don't crease or fold the strip as this will take away the shape of the purse

You have now almost finished - It just needs straps adding.

I have chosen to add these with brads but you could glue the straps inside and add pearls /gems to look as faux fasteners.
The straps are made from the 6 x 3/8 inch strips. First of all curl then slightly (as you would curling ribbon)  to make them easier to work with.

If using brads pierce your bag twice on each side using your judgment of where to put the straps. Then pierce the straps about 1/4 of an inch from each end. Push the brad through the bag and then the strap fixing at the back. repeat this for all 4 strap ends.

This is where the 3rd 12x1/2 inch strap comes in carefully stick this around the top of the inside of the bag covering the ends of the straps and brad tails

That's your bag finished!!!

Onto the cards
I have used So Suzy Stamps Peony stamp and the Beautiful sentiment

In order for these to fit in your bag they must be 4x4inches. Here's what I used to make them

I started with a 4x8 piece of white card and folded this in half. I matted the card and patterned paper (that I had used to make the purse) onto the card. I then stamped the Beautiful sentiment onto the bottom right corner of a piece of white card. Two of the peonies where stamped onto white card using Evergreen Bough Distress ink which matched perfectly with the green card. I then fussy cut these out. After fixing the white card onto my base I then arranged the peonies onto this. I glued the fist one flat and then used foam tape on the second one to add dimension. A crystal gem in the center of each flower just added a finishing touch.
I then made envelopes in a tonal match paper

These can be made using any paper:

Here's one I've done using Kraft card and the Dandelion and Dandelion fluff set with the some see a wish sentiment.

Baby boy

Good morning! it's time for another new stamp release over at My Whimsical Little World and there are 3 fab digi-stamps this week. As always these images are adorable we have a sweet little girl - thinking of you, a boy on his phone - Hey There and a baby newborn- Baby Boy!

I have chosen to showcase the adorable baby which has challenged me as I had more skin to color!

Doesn't he look so sweet in his oversized cap! I have colored him with my Spectrum Noir Markers and then fussy cut him. The card blank has been matted with blue card and this gorgeous paper which is from Lili of the Valley. It makes it look like the little man is fast asleep on his comforter.  The sentiment is from a very old stamp collection which is no longer available and I have die cut this using a Spellbinder die. The baby shapes have also been die cut from Memory Box dies and glued in place around the "comforter"

My Whimsical Little World have a Progressive challenge over on Facebook , If you haven't got your stamp yet head on over the Etsy store for this month's stamp - Little Prince where he is available at half price whilst the challenge is running. Almost good enough to eat

Good evening, it's been a rainy day here so the kids and I have had a TV day. That's not to say that I didn't get any crafting in!!

Over at My Whimsical Little World blog there is a monthly digi stamp freebie which for June is a gorgeous stack of cupcakes.

You can get it here but please respect the designers copyright and do not share or pin the digi.

I couldn't resist coloring it:

I have used Spectrum Noir Markers and just had to make them chocolate cupcakes! I have then added a fabulous sentiment which is a So Suzy Stamp and made a pair of cherries from Skittles just to balance the design. It has then been matted onto a deep pink card and added to a white card blank.

My Whimsical Little World has a fab Facebook page where you can enter our progressive challenge as well as get further inspiration from my design team members!

You must use a new project - no back linking.
Follow the theme.
You link must be a direct link to your entry.

I love making CAS cards - so was in my element making today's design team showcase:

The gorgeous image is called Say a Prayer, I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir pens and added some glitter to her wings.

Once colored I added the sentiment using my PC, this is a new font I have added called A Gentle Touch and I think it will be one I use a lot!!
Once finished I matted the image onto some pink and blue card to coordinate with the colors I used on this darling little angel. I added pink pearls to balance the card nothing else was needed as the image is the main focus!

Happiness is a Butterfly

Good morning from a sunny Michigan we have had a week of good weather - a bit misty at times but the sun broke through eventually.

I just adore using So Suzy's Stamps and the card I am showcasing today is no exception

I stamped the Fancy Butterfly onto white card but instead of using a solid color I used four different memento dye inks and stamped using my fab new tool the MISTI. I then used the Happiness Is.... stamp before running the card through my printer to add the verse which was typed up on my PC. I wanted the card to remain clean and simple so I matted the image onto card of 2 colors chosen from the butterfly then added pearls in the lovely citrus green color I also used to stamp the image.

Thanks for stopping by and before you leave hit the June tab on the top right of the So Suzy Stamp blog and enter our challenge. If you don't have a blog - don't worry you can enter over at our Facebook group

Schools out -It's Graduation time!!!

Good morning, I am full of exciting news for my blog lately and today is no exception. I have joined My Whimsical Little World's design team - The team are a fab bunch of girls headed up by Paolo who designs all gorgeous little images that I will be using!

At this time of the year there is no better way to start than with School Graduation. Mollie has graduated from Kindergarten and James will be a Junior when he goes back to school so high school graduation isn't too far away for him!

Each Monday there are New releases over at the My Whimsical Little World Store and this week they are adorable little grad students. I have chosen to color up the fab Grad Boy image:

Isn't he adorable!
I have used my Spectrum Noir markers to color him. As our local school colors are red and gold for boys I have used these. I have followed the color theme through my mats and used a piece of patterned paper from my stash. The stamped sentiment is from a Keepsake Stamp collection (which unfortunately is no longer available) and I have also added some red skittles.

My Whimsical Little World also run a progressive challenge over on their Facebook group. This month's digi is our "Little Prince".  Create a project with him and upload him to our PC album (here) and you will be enter to win 3 digis as well as receiving next month's PC digi for FREE. :) If you participated in May you will be receiving "The Little Prince" for FREE. Even if you didn't participate in May you can still join by heading over to the MWLW digi shop where you can pick him up for half off.

On to my Design Team card for inspiration:

This little darling is called Elfie and she is a rubber stamp from C.C. Designs I have colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers and added glitter to hers and the adorable ladybug's (she is holding) wings. I then chose a coordinating paper from a 6x6 pad which is part of the Angelica and Adam range made by Crafter's Companion. This and the image have been matted onto bright orange card from my stash.
I chose green pearls for the corners of the card to coordinate with the green dots on her hat.
She has a friend called Pixie who I will be showcasing later this week :)

Sharon (that's me)

On to my card to celebrate the hop:

I have chosen to use the Wedding Dress and Groom stamps which are great classic stamps for a wedding congratulations card. I have stamped them with Spectrum Aqua pens which meant I could color coordinate the bow tie with the dress. I then used a Crafter's Companion Sentimentals set for my sentiment again stamping with the pens. I wanted to keep the card clean and simple so I used black card to mat the image onto. I chose a swirly patterned paper from my stash and again matted this onto black card. I then used black pearls as buttons on the Groom stamp and around the card for a touch of embellishment.

Thank you for stopping by and if you are following the blog hop you need to hop on over to Martha's blog to see what fab make she has designed. Oh and don't forget to stop by either the So Suzy Facebook group or the blog and enter our challenge!

On to my make for the release:

This adorable little fisherman is sitting in his boat hoping to catch the fish! The sun is shining and looks so happy! Both of these are from the new release - aren't they gorgeous!
I have colored the stamps with my Spectrum Noir Markers and used the SVG (that you can get free) to cut the boy out.
On white piece of card I used die cut cloud shapes to ink around to make the sky. I then used a scalloped edge die - keeping the negative part of the die cut - to make the waves with card from my stock. I then used a curved edge die for the grass on the river bank!

The easel was made using a square card blank with the front folded in half again to which I attached the fishing scene. The little fish is a freebie clipart which I shrank and fussy cut for my stopper. The sentiment is a stamp that I have had forever!!!

There are other adorable stamps in the same theme under the new release tab on the So Suzy Stamp website some of which will also be shown by my colleagues on the new release blog post!
