Swarming to Bee Happy!

Good morning, busy day today so hoping the weather stays dry, the colder temperatures are setting in which I can cope with.

My post today is more inspiration from The Little Paper Tree's latest digital stamp collection. Meet Bella Bear Bee:

Isn't she the cutest! I colored her with Copic markers and fussy cut using my scan n cut.
matted an A2 card base with Black cardstock and some digital design paper onto which I printed my sentiment. Finally I added a swarm for her to join using little clay bees

A simple card but I just love it!

Thanks for stopping by, you can purchase Bella and all her friends over at The Little Paper Tree. While there check out all the other crafting goodies they sell and if you want 10% off use the coupon code SHARON10

Happy Fall

Good afternoon! I've had a busy day, early hospital appointment and then doing my chores but I've now got a few minutes to write up my blog post for some design team inspiration.

My card today is using the Happy Fall digital stamp set from Crescent Creations. It's finally starting to look like fall here, the leaves are changing color and showing us God's box of crayons! I have tried to replicate some of these colors in my design:

The digital set comes with the happy Fall both with leaves under it and on its own. I decided to use the former but have also added more leaves to it before printing on to stamping card. I also printed some single leaves. All were colored with Copic markers and I added black Glaze pen to the words. My A2 card base was matted with some dark red card stock which is also part of the October release over at Crescent Creations. I then added my image. The single leaves were fussy cut and shaped with a ball tool to give dimension and to look more realistic.

Thank you for stopping by and if you love what you see please let me know in the comments.

Altenew Educators Certification Program - Level 3- Quick and Simple Cards for Everyday Crafting

Good afternoon! I am excited to tell you that I passed my AECP level 2! I now have 5 more classes to do for level 3 then a workshop which I am so nervous about doing!

The first of these classes is Quick and Simple Cards for everyday Crafting by Laurie Willison. This involves using techniques that are quick to do but give a professional look to your card.

For my first card I followed Laurie's technique for stamping multiple sentiment strips at once

To make multiple sentiment strips like the ones I used on this card you use a MISTI stamping tool and the L ruler from the MISTI creative corners. by positioning this inside the MISTI bottom right corner you can line up one of the sentiment strip stamps every 1/2in the ruler makes sure they are straight and have the same distance between each on making it easy to cut into 1/4in strips. I made multiples of these, some on white cardstock and some on black embossed with weight embossing powder.

My card was made up by stamping the Coral Sunset stamp onto white card and fussy cutting it.
I matted an A2 card base with some patterned paper and added my image with foam squares.
My sentiments were laid across the image and adhered at the ends with foam tape so the laid flat across the flowers. Finally I added some clear enamel dots.

I always like to demonstrate that I have learned the techniques from the lessons in the class and although I only need to make one card I enjoy sharing more.

My next card was using a technique from lesson 6 - scoring the card to give detail.

I started with a piece of 4x5.25in white card. Using my score board I score a line down one side and 1/4in and again at 1/2in. I repeated this across the top of the piece of card stock. When turned over this gives an embossed detail to the card.
I then stamped my leaves on to this card and the flowers were stamped on a second piece of card and die cut so they could be added to the leaf detail. my sentiment was stamped in the same ink used for the darker section of my flowers. I cut a piece of white foam just smaller than the card with my image on used this to give dimension between my card and image piece. Finally I added a scatter of purple sequins.

My last card is from the masked and stamped 2 tone card lesson. I used orange and black for my 2 colors:

I placed 1in wide masking tape across my card then stamped multiples of the geometric flower giving my a circle but when I removed the tape I had a blank strip to stamp my sentiment in.
I used the top part of the flower stamp in each corner to help draw the eye into the center of the card.
I matted an A2 card base with coordinating orange cardstock and added my stamped piece using white foam for dimension. A few orange sequins were added to give more detail.

Thank you for stopping by. If you have been inspired by my cards please tag me on Instagram as I would love to see your creations

Stained Glass Windows

Good morning! The weather is great at the minute, still warm and we've had sunshine most days.

My post today is inspiration for Sunshine Bee Designs, I have used 3 of the images from the October release. They are 3 stained glass florals - Sunflower, Poppy and Echinacea (which I have colored to look like Black Eyed Susans)

I printed the flowers and colored with Copic markers, using Polychromo pencils to add some detail to them.

I then used a circle die to cut them out. I matted a piece of blue card with some digital paper and using the same die I had used for my flowers to cut circles from this.

This was then adhered to my card base with foam tape and the flower circles added into the 'holes' to frame them. A simple card that showcases the flowers perfectly

Thank you for stopping by, if you love what you see the flowers are available at the little paper tree along with lots of other paper crafting goodies. If you see something you like, using my code SHARON10 will get you a 10% discount!

Holiday Door Step

Good afternoon! do you realize we are almost half way through October - time please slow down!

My post today is to celebrate the new release from Crescent Creations and the holidays are coming! To celebrate the new release we are having a blog hop  I have used 2 digital stamp sets from their new digital collection, Front Door and Christmas Gnomie. The Front Door collection is a great set that comes with all the components of a stoop and decorations to dress it up. The Christmas Gnomie works well with this set too, and I have decorated both inside and outside of the card with them. Like all of their digital collections the images are PNGs which opaque inside and clear on the outside making them great for scene building.

For this card I resized each image so that they fit well together. I printed them off as individual images and colored with my Copic markers.
For my house wall I used a brick embossing folder on brick red cardstock. I then inked this with distress ink to make the brick work pop. This was then added to an A7 card base.
I added my steps first, centering then on the lower edge of my card and lining up with the bottom of the brickwork. My door was adhered above this and wreath and ribbon placed on this. My Christmas trees were printed with one flipped so the décor on them was more symmetrical. These were added either side of the stoop. I had originally colored the ornaments on the wreath and trees with Glaze pens but this didn't give the dimension I was looking for so I added gold half pearls in various sizes. I colored the ribbon in gold and added this to the wreath. My first Gnomie was colored and positioned on the stoop.
My sentiment, which is also included was foiled and fussy cut using my cameo and foil quill. I fixed this in place with foam tape.
Finally I added some crystal glaze to the windows above the door to make it shine like glass.

I then decided to decorate the inside of the card with some of the other images. Gnomie 2 is decorating the tree in the house behind the door I colored all the images in, I die cut an oval topped piece of red card from the Fall Theme Cardstock mix and adhered this inside. this left white space for writing in the card. My images were then arranged with Gnomie climbing a ladder to hang ornaments.

Our blog hop runs until October 23rd and on winner will win a $25 gift certificate to the Crescent Creations store. All you have to do to be in with a chance to win is hop along all the stops and leave a comment. Oh and we would appreciate a follow too!

Spooky Foxes

Good morning! We've had a lot of rain over the last few days, enough that it took our power out again today, luckily was only for a few hours and not days this time!

I'm back today with the cute critters from Sunshine and Bee Designs. I just love these little foxes for Halloween:

I colored both foxes with Copic markers and fussy cut using my Scan n Cut.
My scene was made by ink blending around a moon stencil. I then added a die cut hill for my foxes Skeleton Frankie Fox and Mummy Frankie Fox to walk down. They were added close together as they didn't want to be scared of the ghosts! I added crystal glaze to their eyes and nose to make them shine.
Finally I added a diecut sentiment and the scene was then added to a black A2 card base.

These foxes are from the Sunshine and Bee Design September digital release, all of which can be found at The Little Paper Tree - a great online crafting store that sells an assortment of crafting goodies! If you use the coupon code SHARON10 when ordering you will get 10% off your order!

How Beautiful You Are

Good morning! Fall has finally arrived, the maple tree in the yard is starting to turn to stunning colors it gives us this time of year

My post today is using another of the gorgeous new release digi stamps from Sunshine Bee at The Little Paper Tree. I have done something different with it this time, it started as an experiment and ended up better than I expected.

I started by taking the Autumn Wreath - Circle into my Silhouette software. This automatically traced the image. Then switching my blade to my Foil Quill I adjusted the settings so it would sketch. I laid my stamping card onto my cutting mat and secured rose gold foil over the top, hit send and let my machine do it's magic.
I repeated this for the Beautiful Sentiment. Leaving my card on the mat I switched the foil to green and added the sentiment to the center of the circle. I colored the images using Copic markers and fine liners. I matted an A7 card base with pink cardstock ready for my image. I wanted to add a ribbon slider but didn't have a coordinating one so I colored the silver heart one with an orange Copic marker. This was slid on to ribbon that coordinated with the pink card and was added under my image before I adhered it to my card.
Finally I added a few pink water droplets to the flower centers and around my ribbon slider.

If you love this image it is part of the new release of Sunshine and Bee Designs there are some other floral designs as well as the cute Halloween ones I shared last week.

Thank you for stopping by.

Stockings for Christmas? No Shoes!!

Good Morning! How is it Monday again???

A couple of weeks ago I was honored to take part in a workshop taught by Lana Taber as part of her final challenge for the AECP program.

She provided an amazing kit for us to work with and we made 3 different Christmas cards. When I say different I not only been they were 3 different designs but they were unusual too! Who has ever made or received a holiday card made with a stiletto shoe stamp?

The first card is a wreath card:

Can you make out the shoes?

We started by stamping and masking the shoes multiple times to give the wreath. These were then colored with artist markers. The original card was just the shoes but Lana decided we would add greenery to it and it really was effective. I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink and them heated embossed with gold powder. We added the card front onto a white card base, gold gems were adhered to give the look of Christmas baubles. Finally I added a red ribbon bow to the top of the wreath

The next card was a Christmas tree again built with shoes

We started by finding the center on the card and then started stamping and masking the shoes, working down to form the tree shape.

Once the shoes were colored the greenery of the tree was added making sure to fill in all the gaps between the shoes. I decided to put a bow at the top of my tree. I formed the bow in the center of a piece of red ribbon leaving long tails. These were then spiraled down the tree fixing in multiple places with hot glue.

I heat embossed my sentiment again this time using red and gold powder.

I added the card front to my card base and scattered gold gems around to look like more tree decorations.

My last card was a simple one but is just as effective as a Christmas card:

We started by stamping, coloring and masking the shoes. Then using a stencil and gold pigment ink scattered stars across the card, because the shoes were masked this gave the impression the stars end behind them.

I added my sentiment under my shoes to balance the design and of course a scattering of the gold gems just finished the look!

Lana did an amazing job in first designing these cards and then teaching 5 of us how to make them.

She passed the challenge and is now an educator - a huge congratulations to her!!!!
