All About Layering 2
Good evening! It's been a warm one today which doesn't help my pain but hey cool air in the house and a well stocked craft room helps me get by!
Tonight's post is to showcase the work I have done for the Altenew Educators Certification Program and is the 2nd class I have taken - All about Layering 2.
My first card uses the gorgeous Peony Bouquet stamp set. I love this set, It's an older one but the stamps layered together make some stunning flowers:
Tonight's post is to showcase the work I have done for the Altenew Educators Certification Program and is the 2nd class I have taken - All about Layering 2.
My first card uses the gorgeous Peony Bouquet stamp set. I love this set, It's an older one but the stamps layered together make some stunning flowers:
What I Did:
I started the card with white cardstock and using the palest of the ink collections I stamped the Peony outline and leaves in random positions.
Then using Nicole's technique of stamping, I stamped the 4 layers in the beautiful purple soft colors and layered the coordinating leaves.
As I don't own the dies for this set (yet!) I fussy cut the flower and leaves leaving a white edge.
I decided where the flower was going to be positioned on my background and then used the same ink as the flower outline to stamp my sentiment.
My background was then adhered to a 4/14 x 51/2 inch card base and my flower and leaves positioned with foam tape.
What I Used:
Stamps: Flowers: Altenew - Peony Bouquet
Sentiment: Altenew - Dahlia Blossoms
Stamping Card: Neenah Solar White
Ink: Flower: Altenew - Sugar Plum Oval Set; Pale Mauve, Amethyst, Grape Agate & Plum
Leaves: Altenew - Green Fields Mini Cubes; Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades & Evergreen
Sentiment: Altenew - Plum Oval
Card Base: Simon Says Stamp Fog Cardstock
My next card from this class uses the Big World stamp and die set. I bought this set as I feel it is great for masculine themed cards:
What I Did:
I again started with a piece of white stamping cardstock. I chose the 'adventure awaits' sentiment and using my MISTI for positioning I stamped it multiple times diagonally to give me a background.
I stamped the globe using Nicole's techniques - So much easier than trying to figure out positioning!
I then die cut the globe. I die cut the stand 3 times in white scratch card and once in matt silver mirror cardstock. these were stacked and glued together to give dimension.
I adhered a piece of black card to my background using foam tape. Then added my globe stand and globe (making sure I got it the right way up!) I then stamped my sentiment on white stamping card and adhered this across my globe.
My design was then glued to a top opening black card base.
What I Used:
Stamps: Altenew - Big World
Stamping Card: Neenah Solar White
Ink: Altenew - Green fields Mini Cubes Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades & Black; Ocean Waves & Misty Morning (background).
Mirror card: Crafter's Companion Winter Wonderland
Black Cardstock: Creative Crafting World - Lynda Chapman

Scribbled Flowers & Vintage Roses
Good afternoon! the weather is perfect here today, nice cool temperature with lots of sunshine!
Today's post is another one showcasing some of the work I am doing for the Altenew Educators Certification program. My first card is using the Scribbled Flowers stamp and matching die set as used in lesson 2:
I started this card by using a stencil on some stamping card for my background. I then stamped the flowers and leaves, using 2 layers for the larger flower and layering the centers in to the smaller flowers. These were then die cut ready to be arranged on my card.
My 41/4 x51/2in card base was matted with coordinating cardstock and the stenciled topper. I arranged my flowers and leaves then adhered them in multiple heights with foam tape. I stamped a couple of leaves in a darker shade of green directly onto the card.
The sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, was stamped in black ink and I added a few different sized clear enamel dots to finish the design
My Second card was from lesson 3 and I have used the Vintage Roses Stamp set:
I started this card with a blank 4 x 51/4in stamping card. I stamped a few sizes of the layered roses and leaves to design a background effect. I then matted this on to a black 41/4 x 5/1/2in card base. I stamped out my sentiment using black ink and then used my scan n cut to cut this out along with 3 more just using white card stock. These were then stacked together giving my dimension to my sentiment.
I finished the card with a scattering of iridescent gems.
What I used Scribbled flowers card:
Stamps: Altenew - Scribbled Flowers
Dies: Altenew - Scribbled Flowers
Stamping Card: Neenah Solar White 110lb
Ink for Stenciled background: Altenew- Leafy Forest
Ink for Flowers: Altenew - Shades of Purple: Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet
Ink for Leaves: Altenew - green Fields: Forest Glades and Evergreen

Altenew Vintage Flowers
Good afternoon, Hot and humid here but nice with the air on inside!
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like what you see and come back soon!
Around 6 weeks ago I was sent an email asking if I was interested in taking part in the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Of course I was interested I LOVE Altenew stamps and their inks are amazing. I sent in my application and was accepted 😊. Then came my craft room make over so I put the classes on hold for a couple of weeks
Now I'm fully moved in I have started the first class which is All About Layering with the lovely Nicole Picadura. Of course this focuses on lessons for Altenew's layered stamps and gives some basic stamping techniques and demonstrates ways to line up the stamps.
My first card uses the Vintage Flowers stamp set, the flowers have either 3-4 layers to them and do look so realistic when stamped:
I used a few techniques making this card. lining up the flowers, masking off the central flower to stamp the others making it look even more dimensional and using accent flowers to fill in my design. The sentiment was from another Altenew set but fit perfectly in the space left for it.
What I used:
Floral Stamps: Altenew Vintage Flowers
Sentiment: Altenew Build a Flower Ranunculus
Stamping Card: Neenah Solar white 110lb
Pink inks: Altenew Red Cosmos Mini Cubes
Green Inks: Altenew Green Fields Mini Cubes
Yellow Inks: Altenew Summer Afternoon Mini Cubes
Card Base: Simon Says Stamp Fog Cardstock
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like what you see and come back soon!

Scouting outdoors
Good afternoon! Where is this year going. We are already in the 6th month but it feels as though we have missed half of those!
As it's the first Saturday of the Month its time for Scrapper's Delights to have a new Kawaii release and wow is it a cute one this month.
I colored the scene with alcohol markers, As Mollie is a girl scout I had to color the image in the colors she currently wears. The clouds were made by using a stencil and distress ink.
I then matted a 5x7in card base with black cardstock and added my image. The scene is so busy that it didn't need any embellishing.
The next image is Cute As a Bug and wow is she cute:
What I Did:
Cute as A Bug
I resized the image, added the sentiment and printed her onto stamping card. She was colored with alcohol markers her dress is plain but I just had to add ladybug dots. The clouds were done the same as the camping scene just lighter!
My 5x7in card base was matted with black card and some digital design paper that has an adorable ladybug border.
I matted the image with the same black card and used foam tape to adhere her to the card.
What I Used:
Scout:
Digital Stamps: Stamper's Delights Scouts, Scout Props and Camping Props
Stamping Card: Xpress-It
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Stencil: Picket Fence, Layers of Cloud
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Tumbled Glass
White card for base: Core'Dinations Premium cardstock heavy weight
Black Card: Core'dinations
Glue: Zipdry
