Thanksgiving For A Special Friend

Good afternoon, we went to spend Thanksgiving with friends and as always I have to share my cards. Now that she has received her card I can share it on here.

Once again I got to use my new Susan's Garden Club dies from Tonic Studio:

I chose a muted red card for my background, I cut shaped, embossed the Gathering Basket die from Kraft cardstock and used gold gilding wax to color it.

I then used the Spider Mum dies to cut my petals from white card. I colored them with a pinky-purple Copic marker before shaping the petals and assembling the flower on the card. The leaves were cut from green card, tinted with ink and shaped.

I then cut both of the Japanese Painted Leaves from a sage green card and shaded these with oil pastels. I cut the smaller leaf down and arranged both of them in my basket.

The Pompom Dahlia was also cut with white card and colored with a copic markers. I shaped the petals and built up the layers on the card adding the leaves once the flower was formed.

I used a Crafter's Companion Special Friend sentiment die, this does not have an offset but I was able to make one by tracing around the die and fussy cutting it. The words were cut twice from mirror card and stacked to give the sentiment more dimension.

I matted a 7x5 inch white card base with the same mirror card as my sentiment and added my topper.

Lastly I made a box for the card so as not to crush the flowers, I forgot to photograph this before giving the card to it's recipient.

Sagittarius Stunner

Good afternoon, lazy day today after celebrating Thanksgiving yesterday, thank goodness the weather has improved!

It's VIP time again at Scrapper's Delights and today's offer is the free Sagittarius Zodiac package if you buy all 3 of the super cute new releases.

I loved some of the elements in this collection so much that I have made 2 cards.
The first one is using the main character:

Isn't he majestic! I colored him using Copic markers, The image is already framed so I matted it further with burnt orange and black card. I matted the sentiment the same. I used a black 5x7 inch card base and matted this with same burnt orange color.
I didn't feel it needed any further embellishing.

My second card is using some of the other elements:

Using my graphics program I arranged the acorns and maple leaves randomly onto a white piece of cardstock. I then used my copic markers to color them all. I matted a black card base with cardstock which matched the colors of my leaves, my design was cut down to fit on the card. I then arranged the sentiment, constellation and date banner as a topper. I colored the elements in and matted this with black and colored card stock.
I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the acorns to give them both dimension and shine.

Here's the new release images, as an extra bonus you will also get the holiday image!

Basket of Thanks

Good afternoon from a very wet Michigan. The weather is all over the place, over the past 2 weeks we have had freezing temps down at 14f, snow, rain, wind and sunshine. No one knows how to dress!

A couple of weeks ago Kev and I watched Susan Tierney Cockburn make some stunning dies with her new release and I was hooked. I bought the collection and couldn't wait to play.

The dies are being marketed by Tonic Studios they have arrived and are so easy to use. The card I am showing today is using the gathering basket and lacecap hydrangea dies:

The flowers are all on plates and you cut a bunch of them together thank goodness! I started with a lilac piece of card stock. I die cut the basket from Kraft card then embossed it to get the detail. I used a copper gilding wax to highlight the detail and give it some dimension. I then shaped this by curling it slightly, applied glue just to the edges and held in place on my card until it held.

The flowers have a base, I shaped this using a ball tool and adhered 2 of them on top of each other on my card to give strength for my flowers. As I die cut the flowers I colored them through the dies before releasing them. I then shaped them with a ball tool and starting with the tiny ones glued each individual flower in place. Yes it takes patience but is kind of peaceful and cathartic. Once I'd built the flowers I moved on to the leaves. These were cut from white card and colored using copic markers. I then added veins to the leaves using a small stylus and oil pastels. I glued these under the flowers. I added tiny drops of  nuvo drops into the middle of each flower. I did have a few extra flowers so these were just scattered on the card.

I matted my 5x7 in  card base with a dark purple and cut a thank you sentiment from the same card. I adhered my topper to the base and the sentiment on to the finished design.

These dies sold out extremely quickly but I believe they will be back in stock tomorrow. Also If you want inspiration Susan has a Facebook group that you can join Susan's Garden Club.

Now Halloween is over it’s on to another holiday Scrapper's Delights new Chibi release is ideal for Christmas

Meet Chibi A Gift For You Girl. She is adorable with all the long flowing hair. I printed her onto X-Press It card stock and fussy cut using my scan n cut. She was colored using Copic markers and Triplus pens.
I then matted an 8x8in card base with red and green card stock, cut 2 strips Of red card to imitate a gift ribbon. I used a die to cut the bow and glued all this onto my card base. My image was placed in the bottom right corner with her huge stack of gifts.

She is just one of 3 new releases today:
