My favourite birds

Good afternoon the sun is shining and since I've only blogged about DT cards recently I thought I'd add a personal one.

I made today's card a few weeks ago for a friend's birthday - she lives out in the woods so is likely to come across plenty of wildlife and since I'm a bit obsessed with owls thought this stamp was perfect

The stamp is one from my stash I have had a while but can't remember where they are from. For a change and to give them a more delicate look I have coloured them with my polychromo pencils.
The backing paper is from Crafter's Companion's Angelica and Adam collection and I've used Core'dinations  card that toed with it. The sentiment again cut from Core'dinations card is a Lili of the Valleyhttp://www.liliofthevalley.co.uk/acatalog/Happy_Circular_Sentiments.html stamp.
A simple but cute card!

Get layered up over at Digi Choosday

Good morning everyone there is a new challenge starting over at Digi Choosday this morning. A new challenge starts every Tuesday and this week the theme is:

Lots of Layers

so obviously you can use this how you wish - layer papers up, layer shapes, embellies, flowers, die cuts - it's up to you but the more the merrier!

You have until Tue 12th August to enter this one and the winner will receive a £5 voucher to spend in the Digistore, whoop whoop! Just please make sure you follow the challenge and the rules which you can find on the Digi Choosday blog

On to the card I have created. I have used a sweet little character called Piper

She, the backing papers, and the sentiment are from Polka Doodle's Pretty Sweet Cd. I have chosen 2 different papers, matted one onto pink Core'dinations for the base of the card then die cut the other along with some green Core'dinations and layered them onto the card. Piper has been pre-colored and again I have die cut her and inked around her in pink to match the card. The sentiment is from the same cd and has been matted onto a die cut.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Sister Act card Challenge - Anything goes
Through the Craftroom Door - Anything goes
Fan Tasic Tuesday - Anything goes - square or rectangle

Chistmas in July

Merry Christmas in July everyone! Yes that's the theme for the new challenge starting over at Digi Choosday. Why not pop by and join in the fun

http://digichoosday.blogspot.com/

I have used the Christmas Joy bundle from the Polkadoodles Digi World  for my card. It has some adorable little characters like these Gingerbread people

I have used my Silhouette SD to cut the card base using a bauble silhouette file, by welding 3 together it has given me a concertina card. I then used the dotty paper from the bundle over some green card as my mats. I resized the gingerbread people using a graphics program and added Merry Christmas to the middle one these were then matted on top of the dotty paper. When the card is closed I have tied it with green ribbon threaded through the bauble loop!

Thanks for stopping by and why not follow this link to the challenge and join us

Hi and happy Sunday. this week has been a bit of a roller coaster for me but everything's worked out really well in the end!
Todays card is showcasing another challenge over at Scribble and Scrap. As always it is anything goes so enter what ever you make and you could win a fab voucher to spend in the Scribble and Scrap store! The rules are simple and you can find them here.

If you pop into the Scribble and Scrap store this week and plan to spend more than £5 everything will be half price you just need to enter the following code in the checkout

1LXMRZF66PTU

Right onto today's card as the title suggests I have used one of the fab vintage photos from a sheet you can download at Scribble and Scrap.

The dog looks really unhappy with being sat next to the sweet little child so I decided try and make the card humorous.
The papers I have use for matting and layering are one of the gorgeous Scribble and Scrap's digital sets called Monochrome Set 1. I have also used black and white card from my stash. I typed the sentiment on my PC and the black and white pearls are also from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will leave some love by commenting.

Tag it!

Good Morning! It's the start of another challenge over at Digi Choosday and the theme this week is tag it! The challenge is weekly but you have 2 weeks to get your entries in. The rules are simple - you can make anything you want, card a bag or just a tag but remember to tag it!

I didn't want to make just a tag so I tagged my card 3 times to be precise

I have used Emma Canning's Lemonade digi stamp colored with my Spectrum Noir pens. I then fussy cut him before adding him to my card matted and layered with Core'dinations card and Emma's polkadot digi paper in a lovely aqua color. I printed my sentiment onto 3 more colors of the papers from the same collections and die cut using a tag die. Core'dinations card again to mat these, bakers twine and a brad from my stash finishes them off before they were placed on the card.
Yep Summer is here big time in Michigan!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafting Desert Divas - Summer Linky Party
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
The Crazy Challenge - My summer Vacation
The Paper Nest Dolls - Anything goes

The papers are freebies from a magazine and I've used Craftwork's Card candi just to finish off the design. The sentiment was printed from my pc.

Challenge 22 going live over at Crafty Girls

Good morning all - it's been a busy week for me with the holiday at the weekend but still had time to fit in card making :)

Today's Digi stamp is from Bugaboo Digi Stamps who are sponsoring our challenge this week along with The Stamping Chef over at Crafty Girls Challenges why not pop by and join in. It is anything goes and you can find the rules here.

His name is Deacon and he's heading out to catch bugs or it may be the other way round! I have colored him with my Spectrum Noir  pens. I have used Core'dinations card and papers from my stash to mat and layer him onto the card. I have made an easel card with Craftwork card blanks and again used papers from my stash for the base of the card. I had some little wooden ladybugs which I was going to use however they seem to have crawled away so I made a quick dash to my local craft shop and got the bug brads to use instead. The sentiment and colored labels were cut using a die and I finished the card with some Craftwork Cards candi.

Punches and die cuts

Good Morning! today is the start of another Challenge over at Digi -Choosday and the theme this week is Punches and Die cuts. Why not pop along and enter the challenge you can win some
fab prizes!

I've decided my pens needed a rest this week  so have only used them to color the centres of the flowers on my sentiment and used papers and a sentiment Polka Doodles Sugar Plum Daisy CD.

I have made the card by folding the Dotty lilac paper in half then die cutting it with a spellbinder die - You can find clear instructions on how I made it here. I then used same die on the flowery paper to make the top of the card. I used a X-cut punch along 2 strips of the darker spotty paper and fan-folded this to make a rosette which holds my sentiment. A butterfly from the same cd is just hovering over the rosette. The button was made using an epiphany button maker from Crafter's Companion and more of the darker shade of dotty paper. This was placed on a ribbon bow and used as the stopper for the card.

Challenge 22 starting over at Scribble and Scrap

Wow the weeks are just flying by. We have now been in the US 6 months!!!! hard to believe!! We celebrated our first Independence Day holiday on Friday at a camp with James's girlfriend's family. It was really fun!

On to todays post. The next challenge is starting over at Scribble and Scrap and as always it's anything goes. Doesn't matter if you make cards, scrap book or do any other crafts you can enter! You will find the rules here.

I have made a card which would be suitable just as a nice gesture or even a first communion card

The darling little girl is an image from a set of vintage photo toppers you can buy at the Scribble and Scrap store

I changed the tone of the photo with My Craft Studio Elite so it blended lovely with the gorgeous backing papers. These are part of Scribble and Scrap's Damask - Soft Naturals collection Which are very delicate colours and designs
The sentiment, typed on my pc, is of course part of a well known bedtime prayer and carries through to the inside of the card.

I have also used the papers to mat and layer inside of the card.

Thank you for stopping by but now go on pop over to Scribble and Scrap and join in the fun - you never know you might win a fab prize!

Hippie in an aperture!

Good morning and welcome to July!!! The sun is shining here in Michigan so time for picnics in the park with maybe a little music!

Queue my latest deign card for Digi Choosday! A new challenge goes live today and you can find all the details to enter here. The theme this week is aperture card in other words cut a hole in your card :)
My card uses Emma Canning's designs from the Polkadoodle's Digi World.

The cute little hippie is Guitar boy, I have colored him with my Spectrum Noirs and placed on one of the gorgeous papers from Emma Canning's Brown/Green/white digi paper bundle. The tree is cut using a spellbinder dies and I have matted this under another paper from the same bundle.
He looks very serene there so must be playing some lovely delicate music!

I am entering this card in the following Challenges
