Winter Wishes With Florals

 Good afternoon, hope everyone is staying safe this New Year's Eve - we are doing our usual, staying at home and seeing the new year in with just the three of us. 

My post today is promoting a new to me company Kate Hadfield Designs She is a digital artist who has super cute images. She designs collections that are great for card making, scrapbooking, kids crafts and much more.

Of course my first design is a card, I have used a gorgeous Winter Flora Stamp collection which is available either as a fully colored collection or as digital stamps. I have used the stamp version:

The flowers and greenery all come as separate images in 3 different formats. I used my graphics program and arranged some of them in to a bouquet. I added a sentiment and printed on to stamping card.

The image was colored with Copic markers with the addition of Prismacolor pencils to add more dimension.

I then trimmed the image down with my new deckle edge paper trimmer. a mat of green cardstock was also trimmed with this and both were added to an A7 white card base.

Finally I added a few Nuvo drops scattered in the sentiment.

I will be using Kate's images a few times a month so keep a look out for the different genres she covers!

Marigolds and Echinacea

Good afternoon, weather is miserable today, we've had rain snow and then a mix of both it's wet, cold and dull!

So I thought I'd brighten things up with some cheery flowers. I have used Susan's Garden dies again to make Marigolds and Echinacea flowers:

What I Did:

I Started with an 8x8in card base and matted this with a coral colored card. I then cut a second layer in a very pale peach cardstock and die cut a pattern into the top left of this using a plate die. This was adhered to my card base an put to one side while I made the flowers.

I Die cut the Marigold flowers from yellow cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers to give the deep red that the real flowers have. I die cut the stem and leaves from green cardstock and shaded these with a darker green ink to give a realistic affect. Both were shaped using flower building tools. I then Die cut the Echinacea flower from white cardstock, cutting an extra of the smaller flower head. I colored 2 of the petal shapes with an peach alcohol marker so it complemented my card base and the marigolds. The 3rd petal shape was part colored with the same color but then green added to the center of it. All of these were then shaped with my flower building tools

I started my flower arrangement by gluing the stems in place before building up the flowers. The marigold petals were layered to give a full flower and center tiny petals filled them completely. The Echinacea were layered and the center filled with tiny brown flower shapes to form a cone  just like the real flower (Echinacea are often better known as Cone Flowers). I added some fake pollen to this to give it the fluffy texture that they have. The bud was made by bringing all the petals together and gently rolling the middle. This was then added to the bud stem.

I added leaves to both types of flowers and set aside to dry.

The sentiment was die cut using the same card I matted my card with, I added Stick It die adhesive to this before running through my die cutter so I could adhere it without any glue visible.

I finished the card with some Nuvo drops and a bow which both coordinated perfectly with the colors I had used.

Capricorn - The Last Zodiac of 2019

Good afternoon, well we certain had winter arrive with a bang, about 6 inches of snow fell in as many hours. Looks like it maybe here to stay this time!

Over at Scrapper's Delights it's the last anime VIP post of 2019 and we are ending the year with the last Zodiac sign of the year - Capricorn:

Isn't he a stunner! I printed the framed image from the set and have colored him with Copic markers then used distress ink to darken the background. 

I then used some of the other elements from the kit to make my seaweed and jellyfish design paper, again these were colored in Copics and washed over with distress ink.

I matted a 5x7 inch white card base and my topper with dark blue card. Once adhered together I added bubbles with Nuvo drops.

Scorpio Strikes

Good afternoon, October has definitely arrived, the air is cooler and fall colors are abundant.

October brings Scorpio and Scrapper's Delight's VIP deal this month brings a whole host of Scorpion images free if you purchase this week's new release.

My card uses a few of the Scorpio images, a background, sentiment and the anime image:

I layered the images using a graphics program, recolored the Scorpio text and printed on to X-Press It card. I colored it all using Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils, adding white gel pen for highlights.

I matted a 7x5in card base with an amber colored card, black card and then my image. I then added yellow dots using Nuvo Drops.

The new release are these cute anime girls but all free and Scorpio is yours free of charge.

Well the big day is almost upon us, we have all our shopping done, just have to do some wrapping so I'm now concentrating on New Year cards and they fit well with  Moodboard challenge number 18 starting over on the SumMore Fun blog with Happy New year 2018:

Some fabulous golden colors and sparkles to work with there. 

As the turn of the year is midnight I am using SumMore Fun's Clock Minutes stamp:

I have heat embossed it onto black card with gold embossing powder and added some die cut hands held in place with a tiny golden brad.

My black card base has been matted with gold mirror and black card. I have then randomly added the die cut word Cheers across the black.

My stamped clock face has been placed centrally with foam tape to make it stand out. I added few nuvo drops just to make sure there was enough gold in my design!
