Masculine New Home Card

 Good morning! Spring is finally here! I'm staying a little quiet about it though because I don't want to tempt fate 😋

Do you struggle with masculine cards? Then read on, my card today is for a man that has moved in to a new home.

I decided on a night themed card and ink blended my sky with Distress Inks. It started life as a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock but ends up being saturated in the ink.

My row of houses was cut twice, once from CutCardStock Pop Tone Black Licorice and once from Lemon Drop.

The black piece was adhered to the card and the waste of the yellow one was placed in the windows of the black one giving me the look of lights being on

As it's night time I used Copic Opaque White to add stars.

My sentiment needs to be bold so I cut New Home 3 times from Neenah Solar White and stacked these tin to of each other.

Building the card was easy. I used Classic Crest Epic Black in 130lb for my cardbase. This gives a sturdy frame. 

My Topper was adhered flat to this and my sentiment placed above the row of houses. I did notice I had a black smudge that I couldn't cover with my sentiment. Male cards don't generally have embellishments on so I used a White Gelly Roll Pen to add more stars - covering the smudge!

Foxy Dreams

 Good morning! We still are having hot days - I'm so ready for fall and the cooler temps.

My post today is showing you how I designed this cute card using Maker Forte products.

The stamps are from Dream World stamp Set. I began by ink blending on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock using Tiptree Jam, Vegas Strip, Coronation Purple and Eclipse Black inks. Yes you can't see the Vegas Strip but I used it to to blend the pink and purple to get a smooth blend.

I want to heat emboss on to this and I don't want the embossing powder sticking the whole piece. Leaving it to dry helps with this.

Next I stamped the cute fox from the stamp set using Eclipse Black Ink. This is a great ink for alcohol markers and also gives a nice black impression. My Smoosher is a great tool for stamping to help get an even image.

Using alcohol markers to color him I then fussy cut him ready for my card.

My background has dried so time to move back to it. My fox is going to be in a circle of vellum and I don't want stamping under it. I place the Circle Die on my background so I could place the moon and stars where I needed them. Using Clear Embossing Ink to stamp them. Meteor Embossing Powder is a white powder but with sparkles so works great on my night sky.

Next I needed my circle, using Nested Circle Dies I cut a circle from Premium Translucent Vellum. To give this more interest I used an embossing pen around the edge and heat embossed with Meteor Shower powder.

This vellum is sturdy enough that you can heat emboss on it. Maker's Magic is great to adhere my little fox to the middle of the circle. I also added a drop onto his nose to give it shine.

Having the fox centered gives me an area to add foam tape to so it isn't seen through the vellum. 

I adhered my background to a Top Folding A2 Card Base and finally my little fox, sitting on his vellum, was adhered in place with the foam tape.

Night Owls

Good Morning, it's summer finally. although it's felt like summer for a few weeks here.

I love owls, in fact my family would tell you I am crazy about them so for today's post I have been having fun with the Raisin Boat Night Owl stamp set:

 I made my night sky by stamping the moon and masking it. I then blended 3 different distress inks over my card to give a shaded night sky. I stamped the branch from the stamp collection and colored this brown. I then stamped the Night Owl sentiment in the middle of my moon.

These little scruffy bundles of fun were colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.

I glued them in place on my branch.

My card base was matted with black card before adding my design.
