Honey Drip

Hello and welcome back, guess what? No snow! and above freezing temperatures it's bliss!

Have you seen the new artist at Maker ForteRose &Roo? She has brought some adorable bears to Maker Forte and my card today is using Take Care, Teddy Bear.

This card was very easy to design using just a few items. I did add products to my recipe later in the process as always for me!

My chosen bears and the dripping honey stamps were inked up with Remarkable Eclipse Black Ink. They were stamped onto Ultra White Cardstock ready to color with alcohol markers.

A blend of mid browns for the bears and dark to light warm yellows for the honey were my chosen marker colors. These were then fussy cut ready to go on my card.

Speckled Egg, Broken China, and Peel Paint Distress Oxide Inks were blended onto smooth cardstock. I wanted a scene for my bears so a Hills and Valleys stencil was used to get my grass.

I folded a Top Folding A2 card base in half I added my scene using foam tape.

At this point I decided I wanted to add the cute little bee that comes with the set. I stamped him with Remarkable Eclipse Black Ink and colored his yellow stripes with a watercolor marker. I positioned him almost upright so it looks like he's putting on the breaks before he hits the honey drip!

I wanted dimension on my card so I added my bears using foam squares.

For finishing touches I added Crystal Clear Makers Magic to the honey drips.

This gave a nice glaze to the honey making it look more realistic.

My little bears had some shine added to their eyes and noses with a black glaze pen. The little bee had some sparkle pen added to his wings. Lots of sparkle and shine going on on this card.

Thank you for taking time to check out my post and I hope it's given you some inspiration.

Sympathy Card

Good Morning, the weather here is crazy. Spring had sprung at the weekend, then we had thunder storms over night. Go up yesterday morning to at least 3" of snow which is hanging around as the temps have dropped again.

My card today is for an occasion no one wants to send. If you are like me I struggle to make sympathy cards but it is just something that has to be done.  I have used Maker Forte products for this card, starting with Be You Dahlia and Boxed Sentiments Stamp sets.

I chose the supplies I would be using but as normal for me I added some more along the way. So I have Ultra White Cardstock for my base and to stamp on to. Welsh Dragon Cardstock for my mat and Remarkable Eclipse Black Ink for stamping my images with.

I started by stamping the image in my Original Size MISTI - the image has thin stems so you can manipulate it slightly to go in direction you wish it to lay.

Next I used alcohol markers to color the image, as it is a sentiment card I stuck to purples instead of bright colors.

My plan for the next step didn't work out too well on my first attempt. I mixed some Nebula Kaleidoscope Powder is a small amount of water so I could splatter across my image.

Unfortunately the splatters were more like drips, I was going to stamp my sentiment but decided to fussy cut the dahlia.

I started with a fresh piece of white cardstock and stamped my sentiment before adhering my flower in place. I decided to attempt to splatter across it again and this time achieved the look I wanted. This is just one of many uses for the Kaleidoscope Powders.

I folded my card base - as this was a large stamp my base was A7. I matted this with the Welsh Dragon cardstock and added my image.

To emphasize the splatters I used Maker's Magic Crystal Clear on some of them. This dries in a clear bead which allows the color underneath to show through.

Sympathy cards are not the nicest you have to send so I hope this gave you ideas should you need to design one

Thank you for taking time to read my post.

Some Bunny

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I'm back with some more inspiration for the Stamper's Delights new release. The image today is called Some Bunny and isn't she the cutest!

I started the card by printing my image and sentiment on to stamping card. I colored her with Copic markers and die cut using a shabby edged die.
My A2 card base was matted with some neon green cardstock to match her dress and my image was adhered to this with foam tape to give some dimension to the card. A simple card but so spring like!

You Are The Sweetest

Good Morning, I'm praying that winter is starting to leave us - it has been so cold for so long.

My post today is to share this adorable little card made using Maker Forte products.

The images were stamped on to the corner of a piece of Ultra White cardstock and again onto some masking tape both with the Remarkable Eclipse Ink Pad. I always use my MISTI where I can, meaning I have very little stamping mistakes.

The images on masking paper were fussy cut and placed directly over my little pair of S'mores. This protects them and keeps the images under the masks white. Using Blue Moon Ink Pad and a blending brush I inked over the little guys, this was to make the images stand out from all the white card - as marshmallows are generally white they can become a bit lost on a white background.

I only put down a small amount of ink so this dried almost immediately and I was able to lift my masks ready to color the images. The On The Hook Tweezers are great for this as you can use the fine hook to grab the very edge of the mask.

I know it looks like I used a lot of Copic Markers for such a small image but with blending the colors out it takes a few!

I started by coloring the crackers with E44, E43 and E42. The chocolate was colored with E27 and E25. Marshmallows are white but do need a bit of shading so I used W1 and W0. Finally R22 and R21 were used for the pretty bow on the girl S'more.

Next came the adorable little faces I chose the wide faces one with and one without eyelashes. As these are tiny elements I chose to use an acrylic block for these and guess what - I dropped it so my little girl also gained a beauty spot! top reason I always (usually!) use my MISTI.

I decided to change my plans a little and decided to stamp some (love hearts from the same set) over the little guys. I used Coral Keys Ink Pad and placed the hearts in opposite directions.

Now to bring my design together, I used an A2 Top Folded Card Base, a piece of coordinating cardstock from my stash for both my mat and my sentiment (from the same stamp set) and some foam squares.

The mat and my design were adhered in place with double sided tape. I cut a 'V' into the end of the sentiment. Lining this up with the edge of my design, I held it in place with foam squares.

Finally I decided to add some Clear Glitter Maker's Magic on to the hearts to make them sparkle.

The shine and sparkle can be seen here:
