Tea party

Hi Everyone, well I'm back from Mexico although I must say we all didn't want to come home!

Any-hoo today is the start of Scribble and Scrap's Challenge but there is some fab news to share first. The Scribble and Scrap shop has started selling physically crafty stuff. They have some scrummy flowers, papers from Dovecraft as well as items from Joanna Sheen and other companies. There still will be the digital papers and beautiful vintage toppers available but the new layout makes them so much easier to see!

That leads nicely onto my card, as I've still been in holiday mode I have chosen to go really simple for my card

The image is from Vintage toppers set 1 and the lush papers are just a few from the huge bundle of Damask naturals. I have matted them onto a peach colored card and added some matching ribbon and pearls from my stash. As I said I have kept it clean and simple which is my favourite method of crad making.

To enter the challenge you can make anything you like, from a card to home décor and anything in between
You have until the 2nd September (September already!!!) and the winner will be announced on the 9th September so plenty of time to get your entry (or 2!) in. All we ask is that you follow the simple rues that can be found on the blog link above.
The winner will receive a collection of Digis from Polkadoodles Digiworld.

On to my card

I love using Pearls on my cards but don't really do bling but I have compromised and used some glitter!
I have chosen the Sugarplum Daisy CD and used one of the toppers from the collection. Choosing colors from the topper I have used an aqua card and a purple dotty backing paper - Who knew these would go together! The border and sentiment are also from the cd. (I have colored the sentiment to match in with my color scheme.) Although they don't show so well in the photos I have put tiny pearls in the centre of the daisies in the pretty fairy's hand and fairy dust on her wings! larger purple pearls are on the corners and sentiment.

Mollie has chosen this card to give to her Pre-school teacher as she starts BIG school when we return from vacation

I've gone vintage!

Good morning, hopefully if the scheduling has worked I will be sunning myself in Mexico whilst you are reading this!

There is a new challenge starting at Scribble and Scrap today but there are also changes afoot! instead of having a top 3 there will be 2 £10 prizes one for a randomly chosen entry and one for the a chosen winner! You can find the rules here

The Scibble and Scrap store has some lovely vintage digi toppers in they come in sets which you can cut and paste as you need and are only £1 each!

I have used one from set 2 for my design team card

I have taken it into a graphics program and matted it onto some mauve digi paper also from the Scribble and Scrap store. The patterned paper s from the same collection, there are 5 different colors to choose from in the collection. I have used a corner die on the patterned paper and used the waste from this on my photo. I little vintage lace and pearls from my stash just adds the finishing touches.

A stitch in time.....

Good Morning! it's a busy week this week lots to do before my vacation!
Today is the start of another challenge over at Digi Choosday, to enter you can make anything you like from a card to a home décor item and anything inbetween.
You have until the 26th August to enter and the winner will be announce on 2nd September, so lots of time to get your entry in All we ask is that you follow the theme which this week is stitching - real or faux and the simple rules that can be found on the challenge blog
The winner will receive 5 yes FIVE!! digi images from the Polkadoodles digi store.

On to my card

I have used faux stitching on my card. I have made patchwork with 2 papers from the Cherry Blossom Lane CD by cutting them in to equal size squares and matting them on some green card and a 3rd paper from the disc. I have then "stitched" around the squares with a fine black pen. Maisie is also from the CD and I have colored her with Spectrum Noirs and fussy cut her before using foam tape to fix her to the card. As she has a pair of scissors in her pocket and ribbon on her ear I have then added some appropriate embellishments from the Picknix Cd collection and some pink dotty buttons from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by.

A day for daisies

Good morning everyone, well after a panic over my laptop - it decided it didn't want to work any more. I'm now back on line thanks to a nice IT doctor!!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at crafty girls and a new sponsor - A Day for Daisies. As always the theme is anything goes so there is no excuse for joining us. You can find the rules and how to take part here

On to my card. I have used the gorgeous peace angel from A Day for Daisies

I have coloured her with my spectrum noirs and added some glitter to her wings (doesn't show that well in the picture) I then placed her on a backing paper from Katy Sue's Wishing on a Star cd. The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion Sentimentals stamped with black ink. It is a very simple card but I think it looks effective

Shabby Chic

Good morning - today's post took me out of my comfort zone. I am usually a clean and simple crafter but The Challenge at Digi Choosday this week is Shabby Chic.

To enter the challenge you can make anything you like, from a card to a home décor item and anything in between.
You have until 19th August to enter and the winner will be announced on 2nd September, so lots of time to get your entry in. All we ask is that you follow the theme and the simple rules that can be found on the challenge blog.
The winner will receive 3 free digi images from Polka Doodles Digi World - yes any 3 digi' you like and there are some fab ones over there.

On to my card

I have used only the papers and a sentiment from the new Work and Play 6 bonus collection to demonstrate how versatile these collections are. I have distressed the edges of the papers with my scissors. These, the doily and the lace were then inked with some distress ink. I used Kraft card to mat these onto and cut the leaves. I die cut the flowers using the same papers and added buttons threaded with some burlap cord. The sentiment is from the same collection and has again been distressed with ink.

Moody Blue

Good morning, we spent the day with friend at the lake yesterday and had a fab time!

Todays card is showcasing another challenge over at Scribble and Scrap. As always it is anything goes so enter what ever you make and you could win a fab voucher to spend in the Scribble and Scrap store! The rules are simple and you can find them here.

I have used the Moody blue set 1 digi paper collection from the Scribble and Scrap shop. I chose 4 of the papers, matted and layered 2 of them - one is just a plain blue which is great as base because it color matches all the patterned papers.
I have then used Tonic pick of the bunch punches and stamps to make my flowers using the same papers. I have grouped these together over a band of yet another matching paper, there are so many to choose from in the collection. The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin Up and I have used the same color ink as used for the flowers. A few pearls from my stash just finish it off
