Good morning, what a week we have had! thunder storms hit Sunday and were so close they kept us awake all night which was not a great start for the first day of school Monday. Then Tuesday night we had straight line winds and tornadoes that ripped up a good portion of the trees in the neighborhood including our beautiful Maple which crushed Mollie's play set. We lost shingles off the roof and have suffered water damage from the rain. happy to say no one was injured and that was all that mattered.
That's my news out of the way now onto my card making!
It's the start of a new mood board challenge over at SumMore Fun, this one fit's in with the Labor Day weekend. Check out the board lower down.
For my card I have chosen to use the color palate:
I stamped the red rubber Stained glass butterflies onto heat resistant acetate with versafine ink. I then heat embossed it. I have to admit as I had it portrait on my desk I thought it was flowers with 2 butterflies and colored it accordingly. It was only when it was laid landscape on my desk I realized what I had done but this shows the versatility of the stamp!
Once colored I trimmed it down leaving a 1/4 inch around the image. I then cut a window in the front of a blue card and adhered my stained glass image into the aperture.
I added some faux stitching around the aperture with a fine tip marker.
Some grey pearls were added to the grey sections of the image.

I love the stained glass appearance of that stamp! I didn't see the "flowers" you saw until you mentioned them. They do resemble the side profile of flowers! That is the best thing about art. There is no right or wrong way to do it, only what inspires the artist :)
Such a pretty design.. beautiful stain glass look!
