Happy Birthday America!!!!

Good afternoon - Hope everyone is celebrating safely today, we should all still be social distancing where we can and wear your mask!

My post today is to share a cutie from Sherry West Art - meet Fireworks Girl:

What I Did:
I started by resizing the image and printing her onto stamping card. She was colored with alcohol markers and I foiled her firework - this was a trial and error process. I 'colored' over part of the firework with an embossing ink pen then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This process was repeated 3 times so a thick layer of embossing. I then covered the area with blue foil and ran through my laminator 3 times. I left this to cool then repeated the process over different parts of the firework with red foil. The result was a bit thicker than I wanted but it worked! The laminator melts the embossing powder making the foil stick.
You can just see the shine this achieves here:

For the rest of my card I matted a 5x7in card base with with red cardstock and then added a digital design paper. I used paper from same collection under my image and then matted my image and added with foam tape.

What I Used:
Alcohol Markers: Copic
Embossing Ink Pen: Versamarker
Embossing Powder: Wow Clear Gloss Powder
Foil: Minc Heidi Swapp Red and Blue
White Card Base: Neenah Solar White 110lb
Red Cardstock: Core'Dinations Premium
Digital Design Papers: Polkadoodles - 4th July Celebrations
Glue: ZipDry
Foam Tape: Dollar Store

Patriotic Progressive Challenge

Hope every one has a fab Holiday weekend!!! We went and watched our first 4th July firework display and I have to say it felt very strange watching fireworks on a warm evening sat in shorts instead of being bundled up in winter coats and wading through muddy fields!!!

To celebrate the holidays both here and in Canada My Whimsical Little World's progressive challenge is all about celebration and if you entered the challenge last month you wil already have your image, if not you can purchase it for 50% off for the first 2 weeks of the challenge. All you have to do to enter is place a photo of your makes using the image into the photo folder on the My Little Whimsical World's Facebook page! You have until midnight on July 31st to enter - So pop over and make sure your a member of the group and get crafting!!!

I know I'm a Brit but as I am currently fostered out to the USA I thought I would make my flag the Stars and Stripes and celebrate Independence Day

So I have colored her up in red white and blue (please don't count the stars and stripes I didn't have room to color then all :)  )  Spectrum Noir Markers and matted her onto red card. I then matted red and blue card onto my card blank and printed out papers with the Stars and Stripe on them which again were matted onto red card. As she is holding a sparkling firework I decided to add my own to the blue card using red and gold circle stickers. I felt this just took some of the bareness away.

PLEASE DON"T WORRY - NO AMERICAN FLAG WAS DEFACED IN THE MAKING OF THIS CARD
the papers used were separate sheets of stars and stripe :)

The So Suzy Stamp March Release

Good Morning, It's that exciting time again - the new stamp releases from So Suzy Stamps!!! There are some gorgeous stamps hitting the store today so why not pop over and have a look!!!
Also the March Challenge has just started. This month's theme is watercolor which is a bit out of my comfort zone after all my wonderful hubby is the painter in our home!!
The challenge as always is easy to enter, you can either enter on the blog or in So Suzy's showcase Facebook group! You don't have to have a blog you just need to know how to post photos on FB! The rules are unchanged, you need to follow our theme and use a So Suzy Stamp!
Here is my make for the start of the challenge using some of the new releases

Ok so you say where's the water coloring - I have used distress inks with water for the background and whilst still wet I have spritzed it with grape jelly Fireworks. The image is called Moon Fairy and the sentiment Star Dust Dancing which is one stamp which I have separated to fit around the fairy. I matted purple card onto a white card blank and, once dry, I stamped the images onto the water colored card and added this to the card. The die cuts on the corners have been cut from the same purple card using a Cheery Lynn Die

Before I go, did you know that So Suzy Stamps can be found on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. She also has a showcase Facebook Group - So Suzy Stamps Flaunt it if you made it - where you can show your own designs (and enter our challenge) made with these fab stamps.
