First Christmas Card of the Year!

Happy New Year everyone - I'm starting my first 2016 blog post with a Christmas card - yes you heard right!!!

The 12 Months of Christmas Link up has it's first challenge of the year!

OK fess up who didn't make enough Christmas cards for themselves last year??? Well if you join our monthly challenge you can make a start on them right from January so if you join us by the time the festive season is a upon us you'll already have a good collection!

This month we are starting the year with a sketch challenge and here's the sketch:

Our fab guest sponsor this month is
In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, we want to see you use this sketch on your Christmas or other December holiday card.   Monica has provided the inspiration for the basis of your design, now you just have to run with it.  You can flip it on its head if you like but we must be able to see all the elements of the original sketch in your card in order to qualify for the prizeIf you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $15 gift certificate to Ike's Art.

On to my design and interpretation of the Sketch

As you can see I have rotated the sketch design. I have used Poinsettia Fairy and colored her with Spectrum Noir Markers. I have then die cut her into a fancy oval and inked the edges red. I have used a digital design paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles matted this on to red card. I have then used the same red card to cut the snowflake die and trimmed the ribbons from this to fit with the sketch. To finish the design I added some red gemstones and my sentiment.

So get started with your cards for the 2016 holiday season and come and join our challenge you never know you may win!!!

Thank you for stopping by
